Hide Camera Cutout/lower notification bar - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

So a really important feature for me was the option to hide the camera cut out- which was removed with the UI 3.0 update. Having the notification bar lowered helped my tiny hands while using my phone / having the camera not covered messes up certain apps. Do you think they'll bring this option back in a new update, or do you think I should try and downgrade my S20? I'm pretty decent with messing with my tech, but I would rather not risk bricking or voiding my phone when I just bought it. I know better than to try something too advanced for me (ie rooting/custom firmware). Any suggestions/advice welcome!

KitKat seems better for tablets?

I upgraded to 5.0.2 and noticed the new recents screen is really bad. I can't instantly alt+tab anymore and it looks like I can't replace it anymore either. Is there something I am doing wrong? Lollipop doesn't seem to add anything new, just hassles. Like the notifications changed and I am forced to keep them persistent in order to prevent it from automatically closing?
The main thing LP brought was Art.
I hate the recents too.
At least on my m8 htc had the sense (see what I did there) to include the old style too.
I absolutely despise the damn notification cards on my m8 as they constantly cause my phone to unlock in my pocket.
One of the things I'd wish Samsung had kept the same as KitKat on their tablets. It's ridiculous taking the full screen on a tablet for a less efficient way of switch between apps than before. To me it's obvious Google doesn't give a damn about tablets anymore.

[Request][MOD] quick toggles from bottom

I want to see notifications alone in the notification shade and I want to drag my quick settings from the bottom. Both having blur screen effect.
This makes the phone more simpler and easy to use. I know that there are various apps to provide this functionality in the play store, but none of them are perfect nor good. Many of them close and cause some or other problems. So, I want this feature to be embedded in the system.
Can any developer provide this feature, this would be awesome. This is a great feature in the old Hydrogen OS, but recently they dropped it. I wish there is a generous friend out there to help..

Can I get rid of any of these annoyances and tweaks I had on my S5?

Love the S9, upgraded from the S5 which I had rooted and heavily modified. I originally rooted my S5 to get rid of annoyances. Since it looks like the rooting and modifying scenes for later Galaxies has dropped off a bit, I want to know if there's current any way to get rid of these annoyances and tweaks which I had on my S5
-Get rid of the high volume warning. Holy crap if I could get rid of this I'd be satisfied!
-Get rid of the 'safe/trusted computer' when plugging into a PC
-Get rid of the battery icon on the status bar, I like having the percentage only. Also want to get rid of alarm clock icon
-Remove certain persistent notifications from notification center like wifi calling enabled
-Always expand certain or all notifications
-Keep screen off when connecting/disconnecting charger
-Long press back button to kill app in focus
-Date in the status bar without having an annoying notification app to go with it?
-RAM usage in the recent apps switcher
Almost all of these things we easily remedied using rooted tweaks like Gravitybox or similar on my S5. If anyone knows any ways to get rid of these without root I'm all ears!
Props to bxActions, Internet Speed Meter and BK Manager for allowing great tweaks without root.
A few of these can be fixed with System UI Tuner, but you have to enter a few commands with adb to allow the app to work. It's very easy and the app has step-by-step instructions. It's in the play store and/or the dev maintains a thread here on xda.

On my s5 and s7 I Installed the latest lineage rom by resurrection. the phone works better than when it was new. No silly messages. I had to reroot the phone and install gapps. battery life is unbelievable after disabling location. no messages not a single bug, my Bluetooth range improved. you will need to make sure your bootloader is unlocked, some sites say you can use safestrap but I doubt it. give it a shot if you have access to your bootloader
i find resurection boot animation a bit silly I replaced it with samsung boot screen splash files.
for cover messages, remove or disable popupreceiver service, again, you will need root access.
Good stuff guys, thanks for the info. I'll be checking out SystemUI Tuner for sure.

[Request] Taller status bar

Oi, mates.
So, as we all know, the OP6T has a notch. Issue with it compared to Google's native software implementation is that the status bar mostly behaves like the notch isn't there.
If we take a look at the developer options, we can simulate a display cutout with the "Double display cutout" which realigns the status bar and gives it more breathing space. Unfortunately, that also makes the notch bigger as the OS simulates the bigger notch.
I've attached screenshots of both of the layouts.
If someone could possibly modify the layout to use a layout made for notches, I'd really really appreciate it. I believe this can be achieved via a substratum theme or a Magisk module that utilises the OOS.
If I'm being unclear or you're wondering something regarding the simulated notch (maybe using OSS to patch out the black bar so it's invisible?) Then please let me know and I'll try to elaborate.
Thank you in advance and I'm really hoping someone will fullfil the request.
Bump
The status bar is already tall enough to accommodate the notch, what exactly are you asking for?

I'm asking for an option to use the stock AOSP layout.
It might be nice if it also aligned with the end of the corner radius, as at the moment there's still a bit of dispay curve below the status bar and it kind of looks sloppy.

The AOSP implementation is to make the status bar as tall as the notch, which is what they are currently doing. I don’t see what you think the benefit will be if extra space is added.

I didn't ask for your preference. I am requesting a mod to adjust it to my preference.
Why would you want the status bar Taller then the notch. Makes no sense

Read the post right above yours. Thanks.
I did. Since your the only person that would want something weird like that I very much doubt someone is going to take the time to make a useless mod
I think you're being 100% unclear as to what benefit what your asking for even has. Out of the box implementation is just fine in mine and probably nearly everyone but yourself book. If you want someone to go out of their way to make something you might want to give an actual use case for what your asking for or it's unlikely anyone will even try. Just my 2 cents though.

It's literally the way AOSP is. I use Google's gestures too, which people usually dislike even though OnePlus gestures are available. Why would I do that? Because I want a stock setup. Android is about choice, not "why that's pointless". Do you attack all those people with custom Zelda themed battery indicators and odd icon packs?
You can literally toggle this layout. Only issue is that you get a bigger notch.

What if people would like a stock layout? It's literally how Google implemented it. OnePlus modified it on top of what Google made (they basically removed it altogether but whatever)
Why would someone want a taller status bar? It's nothing but a waste of screen space. If anything, I'm trying to find a way to hide the status bar and display apps underneath the notch as if it doesn't exist.

I'm not trying to be rude or anything here just trying to help, I guess I just don't get why what we have doesn't work for you. Maybe an AOSP rom would have what your looking for (pixel experience did release).

That's what YOU prefer. Why is it so hard to grasp your mind around my preference? I prefer my status bar to be at a good position according to the curvature of the display. I work as a UX designer, and things like this bother me. I'd like to see if someone could take a look at this because it's a fairly simple task.
I didn't ask for your opinion, so please, just leave.

That's the thing, I like the stability and battery life of the stock ROM. + smart boost is a nice thing to have with 8GB of RAM. I don't think any other ROM (unless stock-based) will have those features. I literally just want a Pixel skin slammed on top of OxygenOS to revert what OnePlus changed. Someone will likely respond with "you should have bought a Pixel" but let's hope not.
Android is about freedom, right? That's why I'm asking for help to customise it to my liking. It's not even a big request.

That's exactly what I'm looking for basically. The AOSP layout looks great on the OP6T

Even the simplest of modifications can be a royal nightmare to implement my friend. I might poke around a bit when I get off work and see what I can come up, mainly out of curiosity lol. Don't hold your breath though so it's been ages since I worked on Android.

No worries, cheers. I know small stuff can cause lots of trouble, but from what I've seen, every single one of these cutout simulations are APKs with resources in them. Using OSS to replace their backgrounds to transparent ones would possibly work, but it's just a theory. I appreciate it

Full Screen Gestures Updated???

So just yesterday I noticed there was change with my fullscreen gestures. Before, selecting the android 10 full screen gestures would display a tiny bar at the bottom of the screen. Now this bar is not present. There was a function where you could slide across this bottom bar to quick switch between recent apps, but this function is also gone. This is a big bummer for me because I frequently used that feature and was very happy to have it on this phone.
This came around the same time that I was playing around with different launchers. I did replace the 'TouchWizHome_2017.apk' with a newer version when I was playing around, but I have since replaced the stock apk that I backed up and I am still encountering the same issue. I did not notice this problem before doing that, but I do not know for sure it was not present.
Did anyone else notice this change? Or did I just screw myself by messing around....
I ran the command 'cm overlay enable com.android.internal.systemui.navbar.gestural' and the thin bar on the bottom came back, but the little grey bar inside it that was remenicent of the iphone was not there and the quick switch functionality was still absent. I suspect that installing the newer oneui launcher actually patched the systemui apk, since it is a priv_app. I can not understand why companies insist on taking away great functions like this.....
I got SystemUI and TouchWizHome_2017 files from the TA1 rom for my n9750 hosted on sammobile. Replacing those files in priv-app had no impact on my problem. Makes me further suspect it might have been some background update that broke this .
