Samsung Galaxy S20+ USB C issues - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

Have recently started to have issues with my S20+ super fast charging. Thought this could be the charger so tried a new one and the issue still exists. Seems to super fast charge as soon as the phone has rebooted and then stops and goes back to the "Check USB connection" message.
Also appears that the supplied USB C head phones no longer work connected to the phone. These work perfectly fine connected to my computer so i guess its unlikely an issue with the head phones.
Thinking back this issue appears to have started around the time the latest android was rolled out in the 2nd half of December. Has anyone else experienced the same issues and if so is there a fix?
Thank You

Android 11 One UI 3.0 is full of bugs on Galaxy devices. I won't install it unless it's improved. If you can factory reset to the original OS that may be your best option.

Thanks for your thoughts, i was coming to the conclusion this may be it. I did do a factory restore however this is the same OS (Android 11) - Would the only way to go back to Android 10 be downloading the ROM and installing it manually?

How can I rollback Sony android TV to previous Android 7?

I have a Sony android TV and it was working fine until I upgraded its OS to Android 8 (v6520).
Since then the TV set suffers many issues like:
1- Repeated crashes which needs the TV to be plugged out and plug in again.
2-Many lags in my Bluetooth controller (practically, my controller is useless)
3-The function to see running apps with holding HOME key is gone!!!
4-Some of my previous apps doesn't run anymore.
5-And many many other minor bugs and failures.
I've already reset factory the TV without any results.
Anybody can save me and say how to rollback the firmware to my previous Android 7 (v5629).
I have the previous firmware package file. But I don't know the procedures, though I have a good knowledge of firmware recovery in android phones.
I'm really frustrated with my upgrade and I really appreciate your help.

From where did you download the older package file? I am facing the same issue. What TV model do you have?

I saved it from my previous downloads. My model is KD-49X7000D. I Know the package is the same for many models.
Do you know the recovery or rollback procedures?
I am in the same boat. Updated to oero to see if it would sort out some issues, but oreo has made the experience a lot worse.
Random reboots on turn on and lost arc 5.1
Surely there must be a way to flash the 7.0 v firmware?
Did you guys made it work? I need this, my TV keeps getting offline without reason... and sometimes freezes when my HD is connected via USB. Thanks.
Anyone has found a way to roll back android TV???

Update to Android 10 "Q" - Battery reads 0%, cannot charge and rebooting

Well, there's a lot of info across the web on Android 10 charging problems, and many forums reporting the issue. I decided to come to XDAF as this is the THE site for tech solutions.
I am running Android 9, and upgraded using the Samsung "new software update available" notifcation. Battery was 80% and on charge. I started the update and when completed, after about 5 mins, I was presented with:-
* A battery reporting 0%
* "connect charger" message on lockscreen
* Does not charge , usual sound when connecting a charger does not occur.
* After about 10 seconds after UI is ready, the phone just reboots. This cycle is repeated.
* The phone cannot be powered off to try a charge then.
* Tried soft reset, hard reset, factory reset, cache wipe .- using recovery mode - nada, nothing improves the situation.
* Tried OEM charger plug - although I do not have an OEM USB-C lead. - no effect.
I note across the www advice to check hardware port, clean it, blah blag but the thing is, my equipment worked fine on Pie (9). So, I downloaded Pie9 firmware from sammobile, downloaded Odin, USB drivers etc and flashed version 9 using standard "CSC" not "HOME_CSC" file to force a factory reset. Rebooted phone and voila all is fine again. I then repeated this process but using the latest "Q" (Android 10) from sammobile and presto, same problems as before. I repeated this cycle another TWO times with the same results. Android 9 = fine, Android 10=battery/charge issues and constant reboots after power on + UI ready.
Conclusively then, there IS a problem with Android 10. It could well be that Samsung are trying to force users to use OEM charger plug and OEM cable - I dont know but I have ordered a OEM USB-C cable from Samsung. But either way, there's a definite problem with "Q" and not just my device.
Can anyone add/.support the view and has anyone managed to resolve via using OEM charger and cable?
tell us what happen when you use the new cable, if that's not the cable then you are the first documented case for this exact issue on android 10, which A70 variant do you have?
I tried multiple cables and charging bricks and they all work without a problem.
Hi,
The only fix for this problem is to change the charging pcb for a SUB_04. Mostly there is a SUB_03A pcb in it.
There a a few differences on the pcb boards. I think samsung is forgot to write some lines to the IC on the SUB_03A pcb.
otherwise you can downgrade back to Pie. Boatloader is the same as Q
best regards

Thank you for this very precious information. Do you happen to know whether this issue is present on the A50 as well? I suspect it is the case (although it does not seem to be bricking phones), I made a very detailed post about it on reddit but not many people seem to care.
To sum it up, there is an issue that is affecting some Galaxy A50 smartphones and it causes a lot of very annoying issues (all related to USB / Charging). It would be awesome if you could provide us with a little bit more information about this charging PCB issue.
Thank you kindly.
Most of the A50 Phones have issues with the pcb connector on the mainboard. The solderpoints on de left side will break fast when you pull off the mainflex cable.
Tomorrow or saturday I will check if there are several revisions charging PCB's. I let you know.

I got it stable, eventually, although it was a right PITA. Factory reset to 9, wipe cache, reboot, install via ODIN, wipe cache, factory reset, wipe cache.
Normal everyday user though, the "upgrade to Q" if frought
Although I would say, it doesnt need a PCB fix !!!!

Install a device info app (there are many out there) they can list your motherboard and PCB boards info as well. e.g: Device info HW from play store.
my phone stopped charging because of same issue after update. i went to samsung service center as it was not charging so i cudnt do anything. they replaced the charging card to SM-A705FN_SUB04(my phone model next to serial number written is sm-a707f/dsm) but the problem still persists. and now i have android 10. i managed to get a " Buyyart New Professional Power Battery Activation Charge Board with Micro USB Cable Circuit Tester " from which i can now charge it after taking out battery so i dont have to take it to service center for trying any fix. but still its a lot of work. can anyone please guide what to do? as whenever i try to flash stock rom it says binary fail bootloader cant be downgraded.
i have rooted my phone with magisk also after which it doesnt goes into recovery. can that be a prblm?
update: i tried to flash stock recovery to remove magisk and it doesnt work. so i think the problem is not with magisk. prblm is with update.
is there any other way to root a70s without having issue?

Samsung note 10+ 5g not booting after firmware update

Hi,
I have applied firware update for years without problems but today I am stumped.
I tried to update todate from 6ETLL firmware to the newer 6FUBD both Android 11.
Set up Odin using 3.14.4 and started ok.
Then I had the install stopping and disconnecing to the phone.
Eventually I disconnected the phone lead and it now wont boot passed the error message -
An error has occurred while updating the device software.
Use the Emmergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software.
So I installed this on my pc it it fails to recognise the phone even in Emmergency recovery mode.
I have tried all methods of trying to reboot the phone but it always comes back to the above arror message and wont go into recover mode or download mode.
I did not but this from O2 but directly from Samsund and its just out of warrantee.
I dont know wheer the service center is in the Uk and thats a lst resort anyway.
Any suggestions please.
Repaste from my other reply on the UI3 update :
"
Odin hates thunderbolt - If you plan on using a USB-C port make sure it's not thunderbolt. It will fail half way in and freeze. Get a well rated cable and do it via USB concentrator directly
If you get stuck and you cannot access recovery via key combo or smartswitch emergency recovery use Odin
Open options and select get device info - It will reboot directly to the recovery if it was previously written (check the log). After that disable the get device info option and reconnect the cable (select files for flashing again - should go smoothly.
If after the reboot and setup you get a moisture warning on the USB port - this does not make nay sense but it works - Turn off the Note, plug in a usb cable on the PC and reboot the phone connected to the cable - It will reset the sensor warning and should work flawlessly.
Hope to have helped - Had a bit of a jarring adventure setting this one up this time.
The lag in the animation is there, however, I think it's the animation timer that is set higher (slower) it's not slow "per se" but it shows. "
Bomm,
I must say.... I dont know how to thank you. Your post saved my Note 10.
I emailed Samsung repair and after 2 days they said phone xxxxx if you need it repaired under warrantee.
I waited a week for the phone to lose its battery and when booted back on charge cane up with the same error.
So I went back on xda and you had kindly posted the exact fix I needed. I didn't expect that. I know now if I have the same issue again. It was my pc I think using usb-c to usb-c like you said. Thank you so much.
I didn't get any warnings at all. booted up fine.

had the same issue. I was stumped at first too
I've tried all the posts but when I say start in odin, the phone restarts and gives an error
As you say you are super, my friend, I applied it step by step, the phone entered the download mode.
Not sure why you want Q or above on the 10+.
I'm still running on Pie/One UI. Fast, very stable and zero issues. Last reload was back in June.
If the OS is running well and fulfilling its mission let sleeping dogs lie.
One issue is if we don't keep up to date then at some point Samsung will stop support on a particular phone and the phone can be years out if date.
They may then be on a version unsupported by the apps suppliers and will be more difficult to sell if you want to buy a new phone.

No problem here. All my PCs, their XPx64/W7 OSs as well as my Androids Kitkat/Pie OSs are now unsupported.
No issues and all continue to fulfill their missions.
Forced learning curves waste my time and offer little in return. My last learning curves were from Kitkat to Pie and XPx64 to W7.
I stopped updating with the best versions of both MS and Android. I don't rat's arse if it stays like that for the next 10 years... or if my Windows machines mutate into Pie or Linux machines
Whatever works best for me.
It's not just the bugs that won't get fixed it's the vulnerabilities as well, then the apps stop working. I actually enjoy upgrading my kit and amon Windows 10 21h1. Anti virus packages mat stop working as well.

I've never had a malware or virus issue that required a factory reset in over 7 years of using Android. More than half of the time was using out of date OS's. My current Pie OS is over a year out of date.
99% of rootkits, viruses etc are uploaded by the user. There's no protecting the stupid.
I have redundant complete backups so a factory reset will cost me normally 2 hours and at worst case 6-8 hours if I need to restore the SD card.
You waste far more time then this fighting with the bugs, the learning curve and the forced factory reset that a major firmware update requires.
I get to use the OS of my choice... you get whatever they throw at you and the ride that comes with it.

Question Fold 3 does not start

Hi, I have a fold 3, which turned off during normal use and never turned on again, when turned on it remains stuck on the "samsung galaxy logo".
In recovery I tried the update via sd by downloading the firmware from samfw, but it gives error
E: libfs_mgr error updating for slotselect
E: libfs_mgr failed to mount sdcard.
Connecting it to the PC detects that it connects but does not recognize it and does not work, drivers and adb installed.
Install the latest version of the software
The phone was pin / fingerprint locked
It hasn't been formatted, does anyone have any advice on how to do this? At least to recover the data.

If under warranty send to Samsung.
Sounds like a hardware failure.
If so mucking with the firmware may brick it.

thanks for the information, however, that software is not detected, I managed to get it read by adb and odin, through odin I tried to install the latest version of the software, it doesn't give errors but then it doesn't start when I restart.
Through adb it stays on the verifyng update package and doesn't install.

So in my opinion you are exhaust possibilities rescue in home and unfortunetly need send device to service.
In over a decade of using Androids (all Samsung) I've never seen a firmware failure. Occasionally the user data partition got skewed almost always by a 3rd party app. On a stock flagship Samsung the chances of firmware corruption is almost zero unless there's an outright hardware failure...
The N10+ in my hand load is over 2.5 yo, last update was 3 years ago. Still fast and stable with minimal maintenance. That's what a stock Android is (or should be) capable of... if you don't update it.

Yes, I can confirm too that with example Note 5, Note 9 and now fold 2 older software (max next only one big update to newer version android) is the most stable and battery friendly. Newer version maybe looking "newer" have few intersting function but for daily use usually are little more lags, lottery with battery life. Especially my old Note 5 with android 6 which had when I bught running very nice and now, even after clean install last stock software in this case android 7 Note 5 have a lot of lags and running like the cheapest android device. This my one of a lot example like newer software isn't always better.

Did you tried to make complete wipe from the recovery menu? I know you care about your data but at this point Samsung won't help you and they will probably try to wipe the device first.
In the end not being able to recover it from recovery, I sent it under warranty and they replaced the motherboard.

Question Can't use OTA update or Smart Switch - fail at 25%

Hi! I got a Samsung Galaxy A52s 5g that i bought from a store as second hand. They give a 14 days waranty but I don't really have the time to send the phone to service.
My problem is this... The phone right now has android 12 one ui 4.0 with Android security patch level from march 1, 2022. I want to upgrade it to android 13, but everytime I try thru OTA it fails at 25% and comes back to original saying Failed to install update, contact a samsung service center. Or something similar.
I found on the web that updating thru Samsung Smart Switch should work, but for me it doesn't. It downloads 7.3 gb of updates, after that phone enters download mode and I get after some time a NOTICE on the computer that "failed to recognize software update mode" and instructs me to reboot device and try again. I even enabled USB debug mode and I get the same NOTICE on the computer. And after that I reboot phone from downloading mode and everything is back to original.
The phone was charged 50%+ everytime i tried, also I got enough rom memory, I checked. Changed usb cable to another USB on the laptop and I get the same result from Smart Switch.
Phone model is SM-A528B/DS. I will provide more info if needed.
What I can do to succesfully update the software on my A52s 5g? I searched on the web to no result to my Smart Switch error. Also I've seen that are alot of cases where thru OTA the phone fails at 25%, but either they succesfully updated thru Smart Switch or no response.
I want to try installing the official rom from sammobile but I really don't know what firmware I should pick.
Thank you in advance!
