Cleaning Android from Junk Files ?

I wonder if there is Junk Files on android other than cache and history files...
Sometimes it seems that the available space change size. I checked all my system apps and they don't seem to grow.
I use 1 tap cleaner to delete cache and history.
If someone could give me an advice on this or if there is another tool that get rid of temp files or junk, that would be great.
Thanks
I use CleanMaster which seems to work well.

[Q] Storage Full of "Other"

So I've noticed my storage is full of "other" - as per in the attached screenshot.
How do I find what that is, and do you reckon I can delete it?
It can't be cache stuff, can it?
I reckon it might be a Titanium Back up or a nandroid, but would like to know where to look. I'm back on stock and unrooted, and if this is something I can take off the phone and put on a spare hard drive, that would be great.
Thanks for your help...!
Looks like several people are having this problem?

It could be the pre-installed apps.
When you first bought your HOX, you check your settings and storage, only 2.11GB available on internal storage (apps memory), and more than 25GB available on virtual SD card or phone memory.
Some of the custom roms on rooted HOX has this functionality that we can be able to view the full details of what is consuming our memory.
i use ES file explorer for this it can run an analysis of the sd card and tell what the folders are that take up the most space
u can also analyze a folder instead of sd card to see what map or file takes the most space
u will see if its junk or maybe some old games you dont have installed anymore
and can simply delete them after
Its everything you downloaded, music , folders , pictures etc

No it's not music, folders, pictures. I have same problem and ask HTC for help.
Man you should try to factory reset and clear storage, if that doesnt work and your phone come with used 4gb (like mine), you should send it to service. Already not found any better way to fix it. Sorry if i'm wrong.

I got a reply from HTC this morning that this is what system takes which is a total BS as system is only 1.05 Gb in my case it is /sys folder which is showing to contain nearly a MILLION folders and 500000 (yes five hundred thousand) files.
They really dont know what they are telling.
Odp: [Q] Storage Full of "Other"
I'm now at hospital so cant send it to HTC. But i try send it next week. I tell you what's result. From HTC this is only way to fix it. I'm not expert just saying HTC's solution. Wait, may some one know other solution, i will tell you how it's going next week when get phone from service.

I've got the same problem! Looking inside the phone with a root explorer the amount of all the folders is around 350 mb with a custom rom, all the folder except one ( /sys ). The folder /sys has something wrong cause the explorer just keep saying calculating...
Is there anything we can do to have back all these GB?? Thanks
Have anyone try to factory reset?
I have got this problem too.
I have tried "make more space" by delete apps.
But "Other" is nothing change.:silly:
If you have a backup or migration tool installed check if you have any backups stored and also check the temp files of that backup app.
The othet section is the pre installed apps and the system itself.

I had 9.45GB of storage in "other"
I tried finding what it was taking that much space and discovered nothing in particular.
Some time before, I realized my HTC One Mini 2 was full. I was replacing data to my Ext. SD Card. Then I realized that, no matter what I replaced, the 9.45 GB remained the same/Increased.
I think there is some kind of TEMP file for stuff you deleted/replaced. So you could get it back if you deleted something by accident, because after restarting my phone, only 5.5GB of "other" storage was left.
However, this is still alot of storage, and I can't find what the 5.5GB contains in any file explorer. Does anyone have a clue about how big the OS and Sense layer are? Thanks in advance

[help] how to recover damaged pictures

hi, i'm Galaxy Note 2 user.
i have a lot of pictures taken from my phone in HDR mode, and that is verry important picture.
but there are one time, my ExtSDcard storage was full, so i move all my picture to Phone SDcard storage for a moment.
when i'm moving the Pictures, my Phone SDcard also full, and my phone was Lagging in couples minutes.
and after that, i saw in my Gallery the moved picture in my phone SDcard was not displayed, and there are error message "Load Failed". i cannot open the picture files in any File Explorer apps, and in my PC as well.
there are 16 pictures damaged in this case, and untill now i dont know how to recover it.
i have search alot information, but no one help me.
please anyone, if you know how to fix this problem, tell me..
i need your help, please,,,
is there anyone have same problem with me?
is there any solution?
please....
If the pictures were originally on your external SD card then you can run a data recovery app against it and if you haven't added any new files to the card since you did the deletion there's a pretty high chance they're still sitting there. Data is never deleted directly it's just marked as deleted (essentially) and then later files added to the card will overwrite any older data over time. I've never had to do this myself but Googling for free image recovery turns up quite a few results.

[Q] Unexplained Consumed Memory

I bought this Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 SM-T210R for my mom its currently running kitkat 4.4.2 non rooted which I am about to fix here soon.
The problem is my mom hardly does anything on this facebook some books recipes and maybe 1 or 2 games and her church stuff and for some ungodly reason it keeps telling her she has low memory around 775mb left and it wont install anything else.
I put a 16gig sd in it for her and moved everything possible over to the SD cleared all the cache from all apps and have gone to the extent of restoring it to factory and it still keeps doing the same thing.
My only thoughts are root it with custom recovery and wipe it that way and reinstall the firmware but that is a extreme I would only do in a worst case scenario.
If anyone has any idea's I would appreciate it this isnt my first rodeo with android devices I am not a complete novice I have rooted my phones in the past including my current galaxy s4 so I am open for any and all ideas.
Thanks,
West

Yea I am aware of that part my problem is I keep wiping the tablet and restoring to factory and within a couple hours it tells me it has full memory or low storage space again.
I went to the extent of deleting the non needed folders such as downloads images dcim etc and letting the system remake them assuming they were the culprits I also went into the Android\Obb
and also Android\Data and cleaned out the stuff that did not need to be there on my last factory restore.
And No matter what I do upon resetting back to factory the space gets consumed within a couple hours and that's only just browsing the web and clearing the cache when done.
W,
hi, if you have a large amount of pictures/video, it may be gallery
generating/regenerating thumbnails in /sdcard/DCIM/.thumbnails.
Check the size of that directory, if that's the case delete the directory and replace it
with a dummy file named .thumbnails an set it's permissions to read-only
i ask because if your moms got hymns etc. that are actually in an image format instead of text
those will have thumbnails, the same with some ebooks.
Replacing .thumbnails with a fake .thumbnails will only make gallery run a little slower.
Many apps do the same thing, generating images in hidden folders on your sdcard for caching ads etc.

Massive miscellaneous files space after Lollipop update

I went and update my tab s 8.4 wifi to lollipop using the OTA in Settings. Everything went smooth and I don't notice anything wrong with the tablet except for two things : 1. My Miscellanous Files space has gone up from around 150MB to almost 2GB. ( The total space of files that show when clicking on Miscellanous Files didn't add up. Reboot didn't change a thing.)
2. The game N.O.V.A. 3 space now says it's only around 58MB when it should be around 1.69GB. I'm guessing the rest of the space has gone into the Miscellaneous Files but won't show up when clicking on it.
Anyone else experiencing similar issues and is there any fix without factory reset?
Thanks
I'll have a look at my Tab S as well, gimme a few. EDIT: Okay I don't seem to have that same problem with mine. My Misc. storage is at 688MB. Sorry :/

Thanks for checking! I had a similar issue a while ago when I was downloading a large app and the System ran low on storage. The download was canceled but the Miscellaneous Files space was increased by a lot, up to like 9GB. I did a reboot and most of the storage space went back into Available space.
I've noticed that also over time, the Miscellaneous Files will return some storage space to Available Space or move some of it to Cached data.
I'll live with it for now and see if it will eventually free storage space on its own and return them to Available Space.
Maybe try clearing cache in recovery mode?

I did what you suggested. Wiped cache partition in recovery. Still nothing changed.
EDIT: I went with a factory reset and it fixed the issues.
