Need help disabling Carrier Device Manager - Moto G8 (Moto G Fast) Questions & Answers

So I came here looking for some help, I was on YouTube and saw a video from a YouTuber named ETA Prime about a moto g fast and how I let would be perfect for a android emulator device that was 89$. What he didn't say was that you would at some point need to activate it cause a little popup from CDM would tell you that you haven't activated your device yet. I am now rooted and have used apps to freeze/uninstall certain apps only to be met with a "failed to uninstall" message. I don't know what to do all I want to do is use it for games. I assume my last resort is to flash a custom rom..if that's a case what does everyone recommend?

Flash stock firmware did it for me. Still can't activate it but the annoying Boost garbage is gone. I was also able to stop it from alerting me that there is no sim card in the device.

Do you mean were not able to activate due to you flashing a stock rom? Are you able to use wifi?

[Q] Either enable SuperSU or turn off the damn "blocked" notification

So, I just got am SGH-T747 S3 yesterday, and was poking around in all the new settings, when I came across "Software Update". I wasn't sure if this meant firmware or what, but I went ahead and let it download what turned out to be 4.3 (whereas I was on 4.1.2 or thereabouts).
Then I tried to root it today, with a couple of methods but most recently CF-Autoroot. I haven't flashed any ROMs or done anything else beyond this yet, I just wanted my Ad Blocker. And then I start getting this business about "SuperSU has stopped", and the "An application attempted to access system" nonsense. So of course I Googled it, and came across a number of different articles/posts about this problem, including some on XDA, none of which seem to offer any solutions.
I'm not really sure at this point how or even if this problem can be fixed or not. I've read that you can't downgrade to a lesser ROM version (?). Also, I'm not sure if flashing CyanogenMod (which is what I eventually want to do) would solve the problem, and I'm not about to try it for fear of what other surprises I might encounter.
But if for some reason I can't have root, I'd at least like to be rid of this incessant notification that the program has been blocked. TIA.
Well, if you want adblock, there is a VPN called Spotflux that doesn't slow your speeds down, has adblock, and is free.
About the root issue....I wouldn't know as my i747 is in a coma of the QHSUSB - DLOAD disease.
You might wanna try the cyanogenmod installer in google play to see if your device is supported ( proceed with caution)

Thanks, that is an interesting alternative in the interim. As with everything ad-related, it doesn't work everywhere (I guess they are pulling ads from custom servers or whatever), but it does seem to work with some programs. I've had the same issue with AdBlocker too.

if i remember correctly, in settings>security you can disable the notification of supersu being blocked and now you can access root. happened to me when i first updated
I used cf autoroot and then installed supersu from the play store. When I opened supersu it asked me if I wanted to disable knox and I pressed yes. Then I installed titanium backup and froze knox.

[Q] The exact same OTA Updates constantly coming to my device?

I have literally said yes to updating every time it pops up. I know it's the same, because it's the same size every time (293.3 MB). Not to mention I've said "accept" every time, installed, reboots my device, then couple days later it tells me to do it again. Another thing to note are the same 3 systems apps asking to be updated (Voice Mate Speech Pack, Voice Mate, Voice Mate Engine).
Text from the update:
This update will ensure your device is working at optimal performance with the Sprint Network. The update will require that your phone is rebooted and it will not be available for emergency calls while installing the software.
My LG G3 is the Sprint variant (ls990), rooted via Stump Root and on the stock android. I have used G3 TweaksBox, as well as installed Xposed.
PM me for a link to the screenshots.
Anyone with an answer? Google only refers to Lollipop updates that are still not here anyways

You know OTA`s will only be installed when a device is unrooted and doesn`t have any system modifications. Either disable OTA notifications or flash a stock rom and have root removed or flash a custom recovery and rom.

Yaar my issue still exists its not rooted and I am using in Pakistan - also my Roaming setting crashes as soon as I open it. Would be better to root and add custom ROM to it?

[Q] SCH-I435 (Verizon) Anyway to get custom recovery?

Hello everyone, please be patient with me as I am relatively new to modifying phones. However, I have spent a good portion of the past 1-2 weeks looking into this problem on XDA + google, and I am at the end of my rope.
Here is my problem (I'm sure you already know):
I have no current solution to installing a custom recovery on my phone. I really just want custom recovery to restore FULL backups via Nandroid or equivalent.
Here are my questions:
1) In download mode, Odin has no problem flashing an official image/firmware (tar.md5) to the phone. Is it possible to create my own image of my phone into one file and flash it via Odin to my phone when I would like to restore? I have a feeling that something in the phone checks the hash of the image (I'm sure that I'm not saying it right), and that, considering my image would be twice the size of the official, there would be no way to make my image pass using collisions or what not. However, this would probably be my first choice after safestrap (assuming that won't work), so let me know.
2) I have read that certain people with phones similar to mine (not my variant though) have successfully "swapped" the external and internal SD cards. If I remember correctly they just change a couple lines in void.fstab. If this could actually be done, I could easily restore a backup to the now external internal SD, then change the settings to reswap on reboot. I feel like this is too good to be true though, as I have not seen this as a solution to my specific problem online. Is this actually a suitable option?
3) Currently my phone model is not an officially recognized device which Safestrap will work on. However, I have read that it is possible to do on my model using the Safestrap version which corresponds to a close variant of my phone. Can this be done? Please let me know if you have any information on this.
4) I guess this would be the last resort. I'm pretty good at taking things apart, but even better I can put those things back together Is the internal "SD" really just an SD card deep inside the phone? Would it be possible to replace that card for the purpose of backing up?
Here are my phone specs:
-Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini (SCH-I435)
-The carrier is Verizon Wireless
-Android Version 4.4.2 (kitkat)
-Baseband Version I435VRUBOC1
-Kernel Version 3.4.0 [email protected] #1 Fri May 23 2014
-Build Number KOT49H.I435VRUBOC1
-Hardware Version I435.05
-Configuration version B13.SAM.SCHI435.0
-Needless to say, phone is rooted and has busybox + etc correctly installed.
Any help will be greatly, GREATLY appreciated -- even if that help is telling me that it isn't possible. I can't seem to give up on this.
Thanks,
Kurt

How did you switch it over to SuperSU? I tried, but when it tried updating the root binaries it couldn't continue because of KNOX, so I was stuck with Kingoroot's.
I used this method to replace KINGROOT NewKingrootV4.50_C120_B220_xda_release_2015_07_22_105243 with supersu. most other versions i tried didnt want to cooperate and would make me lose root after one reboot. also i bought the pro version of supersume pro its 4$ off google play.

I tried it with the free version they linked to and it de-rooted it, so maybe I'll try later when I have enough Opinion Rewards credit to get the pro version. That or it doesn't work on this phone with Kingoroot. (The Google Play description says it should do Kingoroot though.)
Did you download the correct version? The one off the kingroot site doesn't work for me. It just deroots. I still have root on both of my s4mini Verizon phones. Try this link to get a working one.HERE scroll down a bit and the different versions are there. Try each one starting with 4.5. Also remember to restart after you root with kingroot and install super sume after the restart.
I just had to re-image my phone, so I did it according to your directions. (Though with the free version still of super sume) and it worked, although it won't update to the newest root binaries. It fails when I try. Did you have this issue? Other than that, SuperSU works.
I updated using "normal" and it worked fine for me. Glad su works at least. also for one phone I did a full unroot factory reset and then I reflashed a tar with Odin. Did the normal root with kingroot 4.5. Restarted tried a few root things like no frills cpu thing then installed super sume pro. Did stage 1. An 2 then supersu started up automatically it asks to update (I think net connection is needed) *do update "normal" because there isnt any recovery. Uninstalled kingroot like supersume says. Did a few root things then restarted. (Checked for superuser after reboot and it stayed)

Mic not working in calls and sound recording

Hi guys. Really hoping someone out there can help me. I don't know what I did to my phone. First it was having problems calling where the call would cut as soon as it dialed, it wouldn't even ring once. Then the mic stopped working. So I did a factory reset. The calls work now but the mic does not work. I get it to work sometimes but mainly it doesn't. I had rooted it with kingroot earlier so I tried unrooting but I am not sure if it works. When I use the app to check root status it says it is not rooted properly. But my droidwall app which uses root still works. However file explorer with root does not work. When I access engineering mode my mic level is always on 0. I change it but it keeps reverting back. My video recording works and it does record sound. Really not sure why the mic won't work on calls or on sound recorder. I tried under diagnostics also doesn't work. My software updates also fail to run. When I run superuser it says other applications like it are installed, when I try remove it it doesn't work. I ran an antivirus scan and it found kingroot as a problem but I can't find it under apps to uninstall. And on the anti virus when I click to uninstall it it says failed.
My android version is 5.1 and Model number is E5603. I am scared to return it to the store because I'm no sure if its still rooted. Any help will be highly appreciated
Try this:
Install KingRoot again and open the app,in setting of the app find an option to uninstall/unroot that should unroot your device.
After you've unrooted repair you device with Xperia Companion, you can download it on sonys web site, but you might get an update to update your device to MM,if you don't want to update your phone to MM you have to use flashtool to reflash your curent firmware, but be careful flashtool is a little bit complicated,so do some reading first. After that you take your device to repair, because i think your problem is hardware not software.2-3 months ago i had to take my device to repair because of speaker problem.
The reason your videos are working is that xperia devices have to speakers one for calls and recordings and the other for taking videos.Hope i could be of any help. Good luck

sideload sm r500 payment methods

after a lot of googling i came to the conclusion that this watch really really sucks
but i want go too much into that, i just want to know what are my options for sideloading apk files onto this tizen 2.0 thing
trying to sideload gpay didn't work since the wear installer app doesn't work for me. also did they cancel support for samsung pay? because in nfc settings it says "there is no payment apps installed" under tap and pay, and it isn't an app that's listed in the samsung store. not even for the phone itself (probably integrated into the stock rom as system app?)
if anybody can help me with any of my problems that'd be great but the main thing is just that i want to pay with gpay
but if u know anything about sideloading or other fun stuff u just want to share please do (cannot find anything for this device so am willing to hear everything u know about hacks, exploits, tips and tricks)
