Hi People, I have run various custom roms over the years on the Nexus 7, but never with any real success. Can anyone suggest a good secure up to date ROM for my Nexus 7, thanks a lot

I don't suppose anybody on here will know if there's likely to ever be a port of Sailfish OS for the flo?
I've read that Jolla has made a port for the nexus 4 and that they're working on ports for the nexus 5 and nexus 7 but I'm not sure if that's the 2012 or 2013 model.
Anybody know anything?

Well, the HADK is out now, so we can start working on that ourselves. I wonder if we'll be able to use it with MultiROM...
UPDATE: Tried building but realized there isn't a cm_10.1 branch for flo because it was released with 4.3 (10.2). I'm not sure if it's okay to fallback to 10.2 or if I might run into more errors later on but I'll see what happens.
Android 7.0 just came out, as many of you know, and I was wondering if anyone wanted to help me port it to the nexus 7 flo. Thanks

I'm sure it will only be a matter of time for people to start building for the N7-2013, especially the bigger groups like CM or PureNexus.
I would love a PureNexus 7 for Nexus 7.
We'll not have an official PureNexus for Nexus 7.

Slightly more work than N5, 8960 vs 8974. I have it booting, just no sound yet
someone already has 7.0 running but the camera, manual brightness and google play services keep crashing.

Hey all.
I have an HP Elite x3 for sale and someone offered to trade a mint Note 7 for it. The Note 7 is working regularly and with blocked updates. It also features a battery NOT made by SDI (it's a "second revision").
Unfortunately Note 7 are stuck in marshmallow limbo. I was wondering when the 7R roms start rolling, there will be possibilities for us to see at least Nougat on the Note 7?
regards!

You should trade that HP thing for the Note 7. No one can tell the future. The refurbished Note 7's aren't even official. There are always rumors and the release date gets pushed back every time. But I hope those refurbished Note 7 roms will bring new life to the Note 7 but it's not guaranteed. Because developers need a Note 7 to make roms for it. Maybe the refurbished will be different in some way that will make porting roms impossible. But If you can use the Note 7 in ur country you should get it. Marshmallow is not that old and will not be that outdated in 2 years time that it's will be totaly unusable . Right now Marshmallow is even better then Nougat if you are into rooting and Xposed and stuff.
Hello!
I just revivie my old Nexus 7 (flo) after four years of broken screen. So, all the apps updated to date, using stock Marsmallow means slow everywhere.... I just want to use it to read PDF articles and watch series when I am not at home. That's it. Dont really care the Android version.
Any sugestions?
Thanks!

I am still using (and loving it) the very stable LineageOs 7.1, Nougat. It is the last official Lineage Rom for the Nexus 7 (2013).... and wileyc is doing weekly security updates! Here is the link to wileyc's thread:

Hey!
So, I am really familiar with the most ROMs out there, since I am part of the XDA and Android community since like SE Xperia X10 Mini Pro and used custom ROMs multiple times and still on a few of my devices I do.
Most of the time I have used the most popular ROMs that people use daily like PureNexus for Nexus 6 and MiniCM7 for X10 Mini Pro, etc, but I am not sure how things are supported on the Pixel 3 line.
I do own a Pixel 3 XL at the moment using the latest stock Google image with December update
What is the current ROM that people using? Is it worth to go to custom already? If yes, what is the best ROM that I should start with now?
Is there any downside to this at the moment? Like some features not available unlike on stock image?
I need opinions/suggestions.
I usually like stable/fast ROMs, not really interested in features.
Thanks!
If you just want stable and fast I would stick with stock. Havoc and Lineage are available, but I do believe active edge is not working on custom roms since Android 10.

Havoc is completely stable and has been my daily driver since the day it was released for both 9 and 10. The only two things I don't have working yet are squeeze and Pixel stand. Both were there in 9, so I'm sure it is just a matter of time. Others have mentioned Android Auto issues, but I don't even have it installed.
Stock + Kirisakura Kernel.
