Just got my Find 7, want to move to custom ROM from ColorOS

I just checked and I actually don't have the new LCD screen, maybe another indicator as to why my device came preloaded with the oldest firmware
So based on stormtroopers reply, do I need to upgrade to the latest firmware first in order to do ANYTHING? Can I jump from 1.2.1i to 2.1.4i with no issues?
It's a shame COS is so buggy, I'm sure the potential of the hardware inside isn't being put to use with this crappy rom.
An absolute beginners guide to this would be so appreciated...
You just need to update to latest Color OS available first. Its right HERE. Then unify your storage. After that you're good to go.
Sent ya a message on hangouts mate!
Also, you've probably got a newer LCD panel - most ROMs and recoveries are not compatible with LCD Panel R63419.
Dialing *##*37847# should tell you the screen type.
Latest TWRP recovery and OmniROM are compatible with LCD Panel R63419.

Updates for Xtrons PX5: where to get from ?

Hi. I just bought a XTRONS PB68WRJP for my Jeep Grand Cherokee. The ROM and MCU are:
- ROM px5-userdebug 8.0.0 OPR5.170623.007 eng.htc (20180301.104343 test-keys)
- MCU MTCE_GS_V2.73_3 Jan 5 2018 09:59:38
I would like to know if there are updates available and from where I can get it.
Second, I would like to know how to enable the Split Screen function that actually is not working on my unit.
Thank you in advance.
This is where I downloaded my updates..

The Easiest way to get an update is to contact the Xtrons Support, they are answering quickly ( 1 Day ). Then you are safe that this update is working with your device.

You should look for it on a roadnav.com forums.
Kotix builds custom ROMs and UI for winca devices.

Hi ,I have the same issue. unfortunately roadnav.com only supports RN units that is made by them and Winca roms can not be found there.

I had winca s100 HU before and I always used firmware from roadnav. S series devices have compatible ROMs with the ones on roadnav forums. I might be wrong regarding new versions but I doubt it.
You should ask someone there, either Leigh or Kotix should know much more than I do.

Unfortunately Roadnav forums do not have ROMS for S170 at the moment, only S160 and earlier. I need to reflash my S170 cause the digital TV shows no image, only audio, and this problem started after an debrick made by an technician and I dont have time (nor patience) to go back to him to correct the problem.
I'm wondering here if GTX ROM could be compatible with S170, cause it uses Intel Sofia 3gr like Joying HUs and I'm using the Joying Extra Tools app with no problem.

Help with updating head unit

Hi,
Iv tried to learn as much as I can off the forum before posting but I am still unsure on how to proceed updating/upgrading my headunit as it is running very slow,
Here is the info
MTCD_GS_V2.38_1
Mar 14 2017
Android version 5.1.1
kernel version
3.0.101+
[email protected] #119
Build number
rk3188-userdebug 22022017.10:51:05
Model
A-Media AUTO (1024x600w)
CPU ARM cortex-A9 @1,6ghz (x4)
Memory 1024
Can anyone point me the way in what I can do/need to do to update it and get better performance? My unit is made for the mercedes CLS, would this effect anything, can I also upgrade from Lollipop for an updated user interface?
Many thanks, Alex

thank you I will look more into the new board, will I run into problems with the bluetooth and wifi? I have seen a few mentions of this.
In the meantime can i update the MCU and maybe a lighter ROM to help speed things up? Im unsure of which to look for to do this
Thanks, Alex

Read the first posts of that thread I linked to understand how to upgrade and follow the recommendations for 1gb ram devices
For the mcu update....
Navigate to dmcu folder and your manufacturer GS

Question Missing lot of most wanted features!

Guys, I am badly in need of help to get this device to work Secure Folder and Samsung Pass, I read on internet that, this device is One UI Core and not One UI, so it lacks in most of the features from Original One UI,
Can anyone recommend a better solution? Any possibility to replace or upgrade to One UI from One UI Core? HELP...
Mostly impossible, unless someone decides to port full One UI. I tried to do it but my device ended up getting bricked, right now it's in a repair shop.
Thanks for the reply.
