Hi all, I'm new, so forgive me if this is in the wrong section.
I have two Note10+ I got from ATT both with clean IMEIs. I used a factory unlocking service where they send you the code to unlock the phone. The second phone I unlocked worked with no issues. The first one is what has problems. It unlocked however I had PIA VPN active when I unlocked it and it didn't shut down the same way as the other one. When I came back up, it now says Mobile network not available, gives me bars and then says emergency calls only, or flashes between the two.
Steps I've taken to troubleshoot:
Network and factory data resets multiple times
Changed the sim at T-Mobile, where it worked briefly but the boot up screen never changed from at
The phone is clean on every IMEI checker I have used. I got it working once for about a minute after i went to T-Mobile (it worked and then stopped again). Both phones are from the same ATT account
Mainly I want it to find the signal and download the carrier settings so it doesn't have the fugly AT&T bloatware.
I suspect it may have glitched because the pia app prevented it from shutting down and running some process. Is there a way to force it to "re-unlock" so to speak? Or do I now have an expensive paperweight?

I've been using an S4 for about 2 weeks now, no problem. Last night I realized a text I sent never went through, and today my lock screen says "No Service" or "Searching" (despite the device showing full signal). I can't send/receive calls or texts, and I don't use a data connection. This SIM is also new (~2 weeks), and the device is neither rooted nor running a custom ROM. I've tried everything I could think of, like:
reboot
pull battery and SIM
confirmed APN settings on t-mobile site
tried alternate, non-"LTE" APN (epc tmobile com)
tried every network mode setting (GSM, GSM/WCDMA, etc.)
reset APN to default
turned on mobile data connection
manually scanned for networks (wouldn't connect to AT&T or T-mo)
select network automatically (wouldn't connect)
complete factory reset
I tried my SIM in another T-mo phone and it works; tried a different SIM in my S4 and it doesn't work. All other T-mo phones in my household are working fine. My S4 is definitely the problem here, but I don't see how the radio would just stop working after 2 weeks.
Has anyone else experienced/seen this? I never have, and it's driving me up a wall. I'm going to try my local T-mo store tomorrow, but I was hoping to fix it before then. Any help is greatly appreciated.
EDIT: I purchased the phone new on ebay. For a minute I thought the seller might have reported the phone stolen, but I checked the IMEI and it's clean.
Ive experience this but my service came back in about 25 minutes I did reset reboot battery pull sim pull it just came back on its own
Unrooted Samsung Galaxy S4 Up and Running
Rooted Mytouch 4G Slide retired
Rooted T-Mobile Sidekick Touch Obliterated
Rooted Mytouch 3G Slide Lost
Rooted T-Mobile G1 Dead
So I finally got to T-mobile today. Unfortunately, my hunch was right: the IMEI is blacklisted. Their in-house system must be more up to date than their web IMEI checker.
Time to solve this issue elsewhere.
Hi,
I recently went to India and thought it would be cheaper there to get my note 2 unlocked but, the person who tried unlocking my device got mad at me as my phone was rooted. He said, everyone wants to be a developer nowadays and thus it made his job harder. He asked me the model number of my phone as it shows GT-N7105 because I have DN3 v 5.2 installed but it is actually sgh-i317m from Telus in Canada. He gave up and said he was unable to do it. After coming back home, my original sim that I have been using in the same phone, does not work anymore. There is no network. My wife's sim card, which is from another provider, works now though it never did before. I though there could be something wrong with my sim card so I tried it in an old phone and it works perfectly in it. What would you suggest, I should do to try and resolve this problem? I am thinking of erasing everything from my phone and factory resetting it. Eagerly waiting for your expert suggestions!
Just to add: I chose factory reset option from under the settings menu and wiped all my data but it still does not work with my sim. I also, went under the available networks settings, chose the option to search networks and then selected mine (telus) but it say's no service (telus) not available. There is another message in the notification bar, which reads "data roaming: You have lost data connectivity because you left your home network with data roaming turned off". I am not sure if that tells you something related to my problem but I though I should mention that as well.
IPosting this more as a FYI from my recent experience with my Verizon LG G4 phone using over seas (Vietnam vs. originally in the U.S.). The phone is currently rooted with firmware VS98610BB (10B) with Android 5.1. The phone is no longer on Verizon Wireless (paid off device and service cancelled). Earlier in the day, my LG G4 experienced an abrupt "SIM Disabled" followed by "No SIM - No Service". I was in the middle of surfing the internet via Viettel's 3G (Vietnam cell phone carrier) when I lost the ability to use the cell phone service. At first, I thought my phone was suffering stability from the drops and banging that happened to the phone recently, however I believe the accidents were negligible due to a soft transparent TPU cover I have on the phone. I then thought that my SIM was probably banned, blacklisted, or blocked from the carrier. I tried restarting the phone. Doesn't work. I removed the battery and reinserted the battery and powered on the phone. Still doesn't work. Finally went to a local Viettel retail store and the representative checked the SIM. It was working in her phone (phone call made to the retail store and phone call made to the phone having my SIM).
I made further searches online to see what other things to try or the possible issues. Saw some may have hardware defects, but in order to eliminate the SIM reader was broken, I decided to whip out the Verizon's SIM to try. The Verizon SIM verified that my phone didn't malfunction. So I was going to try the next solution is to mask the IMEI to verify my SIM was blocked on Viettel's network. I took out the Verizon SIM and stuck in Viettel SIM. To my amazement, Viettel network was picked up again.
I did notice that while I was at the Viettel store, my APN entries were wiped out or erased somehow. I reentered all the APN information but it didn't help while at the the retail store.
Well, the conclusion is: swap SIM into the G4 to see if it resets the network and SIM information, then stick in the SIM you're using.
I hope this is helpful to those who experienced the same issue.
Ran into a similar problem as indicated in the above post (no carrier signal found) with another LG G4 under my care and this time, trying the above workaround did not work for the second LG G4 phone. It appears that something must have corrupted the system files or other files. What I additionally did was cleared out all of the credentials (Settings/Security/Certificate management/Clear credentials). Also, I wiped out the cache by performing Power+Volume down keys on boot up to access boot options of wiping cache (rooted phone). After rebooting the phone one more time, everything went back to normal. What bugged me was that the phone was charged up to 80%. After another reboot, it is now at 100%. Strange. Another thing that was strange was when enabling airplane mode, to disable it from the settings menu was grayed out, i.e., cannot switch off and on. However, the quick settings still worked. But everything is in working order now. This leads me to believe file corruption has happened to both LG G4 phones. Even the APN list was wiped out.

Hello everyone,
I'm having a bizarre problem that no one can seem to fix. I have an unlocked AT&T branded Note 10+. I used it on my preferred service, MetroPCS.
A couple of weeks ago it stopped receiving or allowing me to make calls. The signal showed full bars and everything else worked fine. After attempting to fix it and failing I switched providers and went to Verizon.
Bizarrely, my phone will not work on prepaid vzw but did work on a post paid so I signed up. Everything phone related worked. It was however very expensive.
Seeing my phone work on a network made me think my phone wasn't the issue so I went back to my preferred network.
Now the situation is this: With a metro sim inserted I show 4G LTE icon but no bars, instead it's just a circle with a line thru it. In this state I have full data but now calls and texts don't work. When I try to make a call the 4G icon disappears and full signal bars replace the circle with the line.
I tried metro tech support, they are no help at all. So I called Samsung. They informed me that my device is still locked. That can't be true as I've used it on two networks that weren't AT&T. However, rather than writing them off I went back to VZW and had a worker insert his sim into my phone and it worked flawlessly, just reassuring me that my device is unlocked.
This device, other than being unlocked is unmodified and had been used in a 100% stock state. Is there anyone here who can please direct me to a solution for this issue?
Edit: I have tried switching to new metro sim cards. Reset my apns and network settings. I even tried a full factory reset.

You just proved either the SIM or the account is the issue.

I would agree. I should've included that I have tried 3 new metro sim cards, with the same result.
However, please tell me more about how this could be an account issue? Because that could lead me down a path to a resolution. Thank you
Hi so after I fixed a customer's note 10 plus that had a completely borked and shattered display I decide to put my SIM card in it and restart the device to make a test phone call to make sure everything works before calling the customer telling him his phone is ready. Everything checks out however after I started to notice that the T-Mobile boot screen gets replaced with the Verizon boot screen some junk apps download automatically. Also an error message pops up saying "This is not a Verizon SIM card in this device" whenever a non Verizon sim card is in the note 10 plus which I couldn't get rid of doing everything in the software troubleshooting book (reset network settings, change some cellular settings, factory reset, called cricket and Verizon, etc.) and nothing worked. Didn't really bother the customer but after a week the customer's phone loses all ability to make and receive phone calls/texts, every time you try it just says "this phone is not registered with this network." I tried factory resetting the device and even flashing T-Mobile firmware into it using Odin and still, same bull**** results as before. My question is, has this happened to anyone else here and if so has anyone ever fixed this problem? Uuugghhh.
