It's not a real mod yet. I just modify Sony restrictions and added 1 lib. Then I delete 13mp front cam values ( causes front cam fc) and changed some other little things.
If you don't use a Z5, i would recommend Cyberian Mod for example. This is a real mod. Well, except 2.4 for z5 series. He unlocked cam too, but front cam fc...
First I will fix all problems. Then with a base I start to create the 'real' mod....
BUT everyone can feel free to port this to other devices. Or if you have a z3 for example, make a backup and start. Didn't work? Write details here and we will try to fix it.

Okay the a lot I'll try do some testing tomorrow but will have to restore my MM backup then I'll report back

I think Auto Mode, M Mode and video recording all working fine, but it will take longer time to save photo then original Camera app.
After I press the shutter button, preview icon on the upper right corner shows photo is still processing, but sometime it won't show the photo I just took few seconds ago, and then I exit Camera app, went to Photo app, waiting for couple seconds... probably 10 to 20 seconds, then those photos just start showing up.

Yeah,new camera take long time to save pictures. It's took about 2 seconds and when i click to preview pic then double click to zoom but the pic didn't zoom in, i had to double click again then the pic zoom in

Xz camera mod for z5p work well
No fc and unlocked manual iso and scn
The difference between this mod and cyberiyan is the auto scn in manual
For the quality
This mod is better in zooming in low light got better detail.
In good light and day light same quality and same picture taked by both.
Nice job
For who say that it takes long to save pictures it is normal to the app read your system. Try after 5-10 min when taking first pic takes less tham 1sec , it is normal.

Yes but without changing ev or white balance scn is unlocked to 23 mp

The cyberiyan mod can't change ev or wb in 8MP or 23MP scn mode too bcoz that's the job of scene mode.
I found the XZ and XC apk different largely in size, the XZ got 12.1MB and XC only 11.3MB. I think the XC system dump is a bit dated and the XZ apk is more updated and should provider more better quality on Z5c but the front camera may not work without fix.

I've checked them and found no different. The 16MB one is large bcoz that zip doesn't compress files at all(just used store mode without compression).
If you want better quality and don't care face camera FC issue, flash the XZ mod that cam apk should be even more updated than XC.

Before I get both apks, xc cam needs to work on z5/z5c/p.
That's all. front cam is fixed on both versions. If you have a z5c please use xc (more stable, quality is excellent as xz camera).

Do you have xz original apk for 13 mp selfie to try on my xperia x non rooted. Xz have 13 mp frontand back same as z5 serie

Bump cuz it works and my first impressions is this that HDR in google's software is godlike.

I'm still liking the NX camera modified better as processing time is much faster. But I'd love to see some comparison shots.

I've been using this for a few days now, and first impressions are, I love it! Aside from a few crashes here & there, it seems to work pretty well.

Just in cast, this was updated last week(?) Speed of processing was fixed as well as crashes.

What is Google Camera (AKA GCam)?
Google Camera is the camera app for the Google Nexus and Google Pixel phones. It is not designed or intended to be run on other phones.
What is HDR+?
Basic: HDR+ is Google's proprietary image processing routine, and is more than just traditional "HDR' modes. HDR+ employs image stacking to control exposure, and also to preserve details, reduce noise, increase sharpness, etc. It is an all-in-one package.

Zero Shutter Lag (ZSL) HDR+ - The Pixel 1 introduced ZSL HDR+ which means when you open the camera, the system utilizes the Hexagon DSP to constantly buffer frames and marks the time slot of when you pressed the shutter button.

The front camera of the Pixel 2 only provides Portrait Mode when a human face is detected, and the rear camera can work on an object, an animal, a human, etc because it uses information from the Dual Pixel PDAF sensor to detect depth. Google Camera ports for non-Pixel phones can NOT do this so all ports for non-Pixel phones utilize the front camera technique for both front & rear (which means all ports for non-Pixel phones can only properly apply bokeh when a human face is detected).

I deactivate what does not work Night Sight, Slow motion, Photobooth for Top Shot doesn't work anymore, I don't know how it happened.
Disable zoom in portrait mode, Resampling disabled (used 16.3MP).
This version is stable can be used at any time it will give me time to work properly on the mode that does not work.

OP6v0.1_MGC_5.1.018_FINAL_3.4A Still has the color tint issue but the Pixel profile toggle works and ZSL HDR+ mode works, but is VERY LAGGY. If you click the photo thumbnail then go back to camera you can usually take a photo with ZSL HDR+ before it lags again.

Try to play around with Settings>Advanced>Model (force close after change) and let me know if there is a better result with a different model. :good:
Another bug: successive captures can either freeze the app or process/capture very slowly.

Just checked, yea full level is enabled but level 3 and legacy mode level is disabled. Must we enabled those too or is full level enough?

Thanks I will check this out later tonight. I need to double check my FFC HDR+ config is right. I remembered with Nexus 6 HDR+ config, it would make FFC be yuvprocessing or whatever. So that may be part of the problem too

Compatibility:
- The camera2 api needs to be enabled;
- Most versions only work on Snapdragon SoCs, but some work on Kirin and Exynos processors;

Which version should you use:
There's no "universal app" or "universal settings" for all phones.
There are a few apks known to work well on a big number of devices, so you can try them. You can also test apks from other devs. The XDA portal team made a list of apks for each phone and while it's not 100% accurate, it can be useful for new users.
I recommend that you find a thread for your phone (on your device's subforum - see this list of links or use XDA's search). There you'll find other users with the same phone as you, the best versions, settings, etc.

Works to test on OxygenOS Beta 18
- For Night Sight on android 8.1 :
-- the viewfinder is black but it works

Crashes on the OnePlus 6T running OxygenOS 9.0.4. Log attached.

Thank you so much for the new build! Only problem I'm facing is when launching camera from lock screen via double tap power button, camera fails to start every time and says " To function properly, Camera needs your permission. Unlock your device and go to Settings to allow permission for Camera."

You are doing well brother keep on ..
Everything working smoothly well on nokia 7 plus too
Issues that I found on nokia 7 plus :
-Photobooth still crashing while proccessing and photo not saved.
-Slowmo still crashing too.
-Image Quality has noise when you zoom in photo and it like painted photo when zoom only .
-front cam shows 4mp instead of 16mp

Night mode not working on Xiaomi Mi 5s running Lineage OS 16. Viewfinder is working, but the pictures taken look like HDR+ Enhanced instead of Night Sight (which is working on previous releases). Tnks for the mod

perfect work on Oneplus 6 Devices.
now you just need to fix the fact that it uses 12mx and not 16mx and it will be perfect.
because for the night mode is fine, but as regards the day loses resolution against the stock room of oneplus due, in fact, of the resolution.
if you can fix this thing I can officially replace the oneplus camera with your app

Viewfinder with night shot on my U11+ is still black, but it works.
Also the front camera is green when u take a pic.

You can replace already stock, check it is 16.3MP

no i can't, at moment only stock oneplus camera is better in "light" / "day" / "sun" scene.
obviously I have conducted tests are not just these photos but multiple

ViewFinder black
But NighSigh Works
Front CAM working no issues.
