Galaxy Nexus cannot boot into fastboot-bootloader.

I was in recovery and suddenly my phone died while i was installing Cyanogenmod 10.1.
Then i tried to charge the battery and boot into fastboot by holding +/- volume and power buuton, but the phone would just boot normally.
The installation of Cyanogenmod 10.1 had not completed, so i was stuck at the Google sign.
Is there a way to get into fastboot-download mode or in recovery?

Have a read here.
Hold volume up and volume down, and then press and hold power.
I did it but again it took me to the Google sign.
Same problem

Have you found any answer to this problem?

I know the command sir, im just asking the other user if he can go in fastboot via adb.
At the other hand, no problem from bumping old thread with same subject. It is better than open a new thread

Stock, can't get into recovery/download modes

Hi guys. Im pretty experienced with android but this one has me stumped. My buddies brother has a stock/non-rooted optimus g e971 on Rogers. He changed his screen lock password and forgot what it is. Of course he never register a Gmail account so I can't recover that way. I figure no problem. Shut down, pwr+vol down to factory reset. Well nope doesn't work. It flashes the lg logo twice then boots like normal.
Ok so I figure I'll just put it in download mode/fast boot to do the factory reset. Tried pwr+vol up. Nope. Vol up+vol down+pwr. Nope. Vol up+vol down and plug usb+pwr. Nope. It just flashed the lg logo twice then boots like normal. I've tried multiple variations of each holding the pwr for different lengths of time, always with the same result.
Anyone have any suggestions? It's not bricked, and the vol keys are working, it just won't go into any modes.
also I dont know if he has hardware encryption enabled (of if thats even an option on this device) but would that even prevent me from getting into factory reset / download mode?
Also I check that the vol rocker is working. when it is on but screen is off, if i click the vol rocker either way it wakes the screen.
I have a similar problem. Here's a thread I made about it http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-g-intl/help/enter-download-mode-t2883542.A couple of guys had some ideas.None worked in my phone but maybe you're luckier.
If you haven't done that already you should try going into download mode by pressing power up+down and plug the cable, don't press the pwr button.
If you find a solution pls let me know .
Yup, you shouldn't need to press the power button for download mode.
First, make sure you have the LG United Mobile drivers installed on the PC you're using. Then plug your USB cable into the PC (not the phone yet). Simultaneously press and hold the Vol +/- buttons, and hold for 10 seconds. Then while still holding the vol buttons, connect the micro usb to the phone.

Doesn't work either. If I hold +/- for 10 sec then plug in the usb it flashes the lg logo twice, then goes to the battery charging screen. If I hold +/- for 20 sec then plug in the usb it flashes the lg logo twice then boots like normal.
after reading this post i went and tried if i also cant get into the recovery and the same happened to me, the LG logo just flashes and nothing happens. mine is stock E975 (4.4.2).
worked for me.

Android has SD card encryption disabled by default - but if it was enabled it shouldnt disable recovery/fastboot - right?
Even if the bootloader is locked, i should still be able to get into fastboot/download mode, and/or recovery, right?

How long are you holding VOL-UP? If I recall correctly, it must be held until the device vibrates.
UPDATE: Oops, that was just for the power button. Hold the VOL-UP button until you get the Android robot.

Before I flashed the new update I'm able enter fashboot easily, by holding vol up +pow after vibrate unhold power button,
But now by doing this combination, I only see usb logo, I think the update broke the fastboot mode?
maybe you forgot to remove root, xposed or busybox before update.without fastboot cant imagine what you can do.maybe you bricked.I hope not.good luck.

I'm facing the exact same issue.

"Recovery Mode" for "Clear Cache", etc.

Has anyone figured out yet how we're going to get into "Recovery Mode" now with the "Bixby Button" missing? I used to "Clear Cache" weekly and thought of it this morning... don't dare experiment and "Brick" a brand new phone - hoping someone with insider info had some data on the subject? Thanks in advance!!!
Power off, then power the phone on while holding volume up and power (bixby) button together

Thank you very much Sir, it worked... :good: I hope you don't mind, I shared it over on Android Forums because I had asked over there also??? (and gave you and XDA Credit of course)
No, not at all. I only knew after having Note 10 with same combo! Happy to help!

Also works on Sm-n986b [Exynos] bit not on 9860 SD, it works only if you plug on pc via USB, it may be a Bug
Power off phone wait few seconds hold both power and up value button same time for 10 seconds. Bam your in recovery mode. Worked for me N20U1 Unlock Snapedagon chip.
Hello guys
Im in the same situation, i cannot boot anymore in the stock Recovery mode.
I booted one before, then i changed CSC with Samkey and i flashed lastest unbranded firmware with Odin. All the processes were successful without problems but the combination Volume Up + Power doesn't work anymore, i tried every combinations.
After booted up normally despite holding the Recovery combination keys, in the homescreen a grey pop up say to me: [PDP] Back-up file detected.
My Note is an SM-N986N - Snapdragon
Any suggest ?
Thanks
You must connect to pc with usb cable and then try
Same here! HK version N9860
Haven't test on it via USB to PC
after update to android 11, the phone must connect usb-C to either pc or ear phone, then power n vol up.
I confirm last statement. I've updated to Android 11 and spent more than 20 minutes trying to go to both recovery and download mode. Only way i managed with by plugging in my earphones... thank you seanmcs
Didn't work for me in first place. holding power (bixby) + volume up just restarted my device. i connected the phone with PC and tried same thing and it worked.
I am using note 20 Ultra (Exynos version) with One UI 3.0
