It looks like it charges faster but it doesn't come with a standard USB charger and doesn't have the Google Assistant features.
Placed an order for this yesterday after reading the same article. Waiting for it to arrive.
Note: Don't get any other colors offered on the same product page on Amazon. Others colors don't support 15W wireless charging. Get only Dark Grey color

Thanks for the tip on the color and please post your charging results when you get it. I ordered the Google Stand before I saw this but will return it if this one is better.

Anyone else have a problem?
I got my Samsung dock last night. Does anyone else have the problem that it does not stay connected to the phone?
The phone lay on it's left-side so that the mini-USB connector can make contact. But it does not stay connected!!!! You have to press it really hard to the left and when you remove the pressure, it looses connection!
NO- it's not my back/case. I have tried both the supplied backings of the phone and they are the same. I think the problem is the connector does not stick far enough out of the dock, so the connection is poor!
This is pretty useless. I'm gonna call Samsung right now and get a RMA for return - defective product! How can they try and get away with this?.....or is it just mine.

I've seen a handful of these battery cases with various brands and they all offer minimal protection as a case. I wonder if the S3 will pop out and damage the usb port if you happen to drop it. If it does, I don't imagine it would have to be a high fall either.

Toastmade stated on their Twitter a few weeks ago they were going to do the G3. As for the back, yes it is for wireless charging. I received my charging chip thing a few days ago from China and it works great.

Hey guys I recently acquired a USB type C wireless charger from choetech which works great. I want to get into the details shortly to keep this quick and fast as it is the weekend!

I have compared this product vs the Samsung wireless charger. the horrible one they gave away last year and early this year. This one actually has enough space to charge the phone wirelessly at most angles. I have yet to notice a spot where it doesn't charge. Good job choetech.
I do have one slight bad comment is that I need a longer USB type C cable. Another bad thing is that I wish it was the USB type C fast wireless charger version but that isn't a big deal.
I noticed this regular wireless charger peaks at 730 mA. I did this study over night charging as I let my phone charge overnight in my living room table.

Probably should have mentioned that in your main post
Any QC2 charger does exactly the same as the Samsung OEM one. I use an old LG charger (from a G6) and it charges identically to the Samsung one.
Weirdly my Samsung charger will not charge my gf's Nokia 6, any other charger works with it fine
