[Need Help] Magisk Not Formatting data - Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus Questions & Answers

Hey Guys, As the title suggests, Magisk is not Formatting data, neither I'm able to wipe data.
I've been using Lenovo Vibe K5 plus (3GB) and I recently installed LineageOs 17.1 based on android 10. The problem is I was unable to root it with magisk and that resulted in safetynet failure, so I decided to restore ViperOS Rom. But when i try to wipe data and format it, It does not happen. It doesnt show the error message or anything but directly loads to bootscreen and gets stuck there.
I'm in a dire situation right now and I need urgent help. Can anyone help me with this. I will be very grateful to you.

Perhaps you mean that twrp is not formatting. Is your data partition in f2fs format ?

Phone reboots to TWRP after custom ROM installation.

Hi, I hope this is in the correct forum section...
I have a Lenovo P2 running Lineage 14.1
I thought I'd have a look at a few other custom ROMs and I've installed three now, Lineage 15, AICP, and one other who's name escapes me just now.
The installs seem to go okay using TWRP. After reboot I get a message "To start Android, enter your password". The phone then immediately shuts off and reboots back to TWRP. It has done this with all three different ROMs that I've tried. I can restore my original Lineage 14.1 with no problem.
What's going on? I'm sure it's something simple but I'm damned if i can work it out.
Many thanks in advance for any help.
Cheers, Simon.
It's looks like encrypted, you gotta format your data using TWRP then start your device, good to go.
Many thanks, you were correct.
I formatted data with TWRP to remove encryption.
In case anyone else is having the same problem, I also then had to reboot TWRP, change data file system to ext2, reboot TWRP again and change data file system back to ext4 and reboot TWRP again, as suggested elsewhere on XDA site.
Just formatting data partition alone was not sufficient.
I now have a working version of lineage 16 to play with.
Cheers, Si.

Lineage OS 14.1 encryption leads to bootloop, still no solution ?

Dear Fellow Android users,
I have a freshly rooted Samsung A300FU with a freshly installed LineageOS 14.1 following those guidelines : https://forum.xda-developers.com/sa.../how-to-root-twpr-flash-a300fu-a300y-t3494362
All went up fine except one detail that is quite important : It seems I can't encrypt my phone using the android option for that.
When I tried, I ended up in the exact same situation as those two situations :
https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/173019/lineage-os-encrypt-phone-bootloop
https://www.bountysource.com/issues/45527123-encrypting-device-fails-and-leads-to-boot-loop
i.e. Launching encryption process, phone reboot, lineage os Logo moving, then bootloop with samsung logo appearing again and again. I could recover my phone thanks to backup and a format action from recovery.
I wanted to try the painful solution advised in those post I linked, i.e. installing CM13, encryption, part wipe, restore my lineage backup but the problem is I can't find any CM13 rom for my exact device model (A300FU). It may not be wise to try with one for Samsung A300F although just one letter is changing...
So I tried this solution using the Lineageos 15.1 that is available for my device. but Encryption didn't work as well on 15.1. Not a bootloop though, just a quite quick reboot without any thing changed. I restored my 14.1 and tried again to encrypt. Here again no bootloop, just a fast reboot without anything changed.
Well, you, reader, are my last chance because I can't see anything else I could safely do :Is there any other way to encrypt my phone for the nice lineageOS14.1 I have already nicely tuned ?
Thank you very much in advance !
Still anyone can help me on this ?

Can I suggest posting in the A3 forum? You will get more accurate support from owners and Devs of that device over there. Sorry I can't be of any help with your issue. Good luck finding a solution

Moto g5s plus stuck in boot recovery

So I did a big oopsie. I was just playing around with my old moto g5s plus trying to root it. It was successful somehow thanks to youtube. I had to unlock the bootloader and install TWRP.
Coming to my problem, while checking out all the options in TWRP, I ended up wiping out all data which apparently also erased the OS. I DID NOT BACK UP before this happened and when i reboot it, i see a message "no OS installed".
Then I tried installing a custom ROM with gapps. It was moto's android 8.1 as it was the one i had before. I then had to type a password which I didn't know. But, it says "decryption unsuccessful" and that the file is corrupt. Could anyone please help me with this. I would be forever grateful.

[ROM][Official][Nightly] LineageOS 18.1 for OnePlus 3/3T

Hi at all, I have an issue with my oneplus 3t.. yesterday I flashed this experimental lineageos 19.1, but since it was a bit unstable I decided to go back to the one based on android 11; the problem is when I deleted all the various partitions of the phone with twrp (cache, data, system etc) and then restarting, the phone remains in bootloop on the twrp logo .. I tried to follow a guide on internet which explains you have to reinstall the original recovery of the phone via fastboot, then from there delete the phone data, and finally reinstall the twrp..

I tried, but when I reboot the phone to the original recovery, it is not showing it and immediately brings me back to fastboot mode,..I decided so to reinstall the twrp (also an outdated version, after I tried with the updated version) but it stucks again in bootloop on the logo ..what can I do? if the only solution is to reinstall the stock system, can someone send tell me how to reinstall it, with all the links too? the phone currently does not have anything installed, as I have wiped all internal memory and the system .. thanks in advance

HELP!!! PE 13+ ROM. TWRP Error: Unable to mount /data. Internal storage (0MB) REDMI NOTE 8 (ginkgo)

First of all I have to say I'm a newbie to all this android world.
Yesterday i finally decided to root and unlock mi redmi after some years of use, at the first try installing the PE 13+ ROM i've got stucked into the google logo and the phone didn't pass from there. After reading several forums, I came to the conclussion that it could be caused due to the version of twrp not beign the latest one, so i installed the newest one, wiped and re flashed the PE 13+.
Then came the second problem, the ROM started well and worked but the phone could not detect the SIM card nor the wifi, so i flashed the ginkgo ROM with the official mi flash tool to restart the process from the beginning. After wiping and installing again the PE+ the wifi and SIM card problem solved, but now twrp gives the Error: Unable to mount /data, wich as I read seems to be very common.
Tried a bunch of different things i've read in this and other forums (restoring data with twrp, erasing userdata with fastboot, mounting data, etc.) And nothing.
Until i found out formating data, and then (in advanced wipe) wiping Dalvik/ART Cache, System, Data, Internal Storage and Cache did fix it.
Need to mention that i only could do the advance wipe after the format data otherwise it would give error.
Now I've installed again the PE 13+ set up the phone and came back again to the recovery to find out the twrp error: Unable to mount /data and the Internal storage showing 0MB respawned.
I'm kinda desperate right now, been tryng to solve it for a lot of hours but i can't. I don't know if it's just a thing of the Recovery/ROM that needs to get uptated to pass the android/google secrity mesures or if I just screwed up at some point. Also, as a newbie, i might have skipped important details in the explanation without realising, don't bother asking for them if needed.
Thanks in advice!

Loopypalm you legend,
Have you got any suggestions on the latest generation of roms above A10 (Android 10) for Redmi Note 8 <ginkgo>?
Just want basics to work like camera, without too much tweaking.
What about this GSI path that some recommended? What do you say about that?
