I'm migrating from the OnePlus 6T to the s20+ and have some apps that need to be secured. Hidden space on the OnePlus is straight forward and pass-code secured. On the s20+ I've created the secure folder and hidden it for maximum security, and created the duplicate apps needed, though the apps that are in the folder are still accessible from the app drawer and open, from the drawer, with a tap, this seems to be less than optimal and not even remotely secure
Is it just me?
I admit I'm old and technologically declined, but dang
I have been looking for what is bound to be a simple answer to this, though no one else seems to be having this issue.

Just uninstall them from the main settings. From what I see, the apps are installed independently in secure folder. Ofcourse, all installed apps, you can see in secure folder and add them, but their data is separate.

You can install it from the secure folder and it will be visible only there. Just go add app and play store and install it from within sec folder.

Ahhhh. Thank you! This works.
apps in secure folder are not visible in the drawer, but you can find them in RAM and battery usage... so there aren't completely hidden.

Excellent, was driving me mad!
I tried to organize my app drawer and I made a folder for Google Apps and put all the Google Apps in it. When I reboot, the folder is empty and the apps are no longer in the folder and just in the app drawer.
Other folders I created are fine it's just Google Apps... Is there a way to fix this?
I don't think this matters but I am rooted.

I've had this happen with any app, not just Google Apps. It seems not to stick the firts time but when I put it back in the folder it tends to stay.

It's really annoying. It just doesn't seem to stay at all. I can keep putting the apps into the folder and it doesn't stay.

Do you drag and drop them in the folder or do you just use the plus to select them all?
I noticed (after my previous response) that if you drag and drop them, they will stay. For some reason using the plus to select the apps is hit or miss.

I've been using the plus sign. I'm making the folder in the app drawer and that's where it won't stay.

Try making the folder then tap edit and drag and drop the apps into the folder. That's how I got mine to stick.

I'm having the same problem! I tried asking T-Mobile, and Samsung, and they didn't have a clue how to fix it. I've only been using the plus sign, but not any more! Thanks, again! Sincerely, Bob Huntington
Hello, is anyone who is using a work profile, or Secure Folder to install separate copies of apps, able to see those apps in their Recent Apps?
When I view my Recent Apps, those apps dont appear. Does this happen to anyone else?

Just checked and the opened apps are visible in recent apps.
Though the Secure Folder app itself is not visible in Recent Apps.

i don't have a note 10 but i have a similar issue... i have secure folder and also have a work profile (the last installed with Island)... my device is a s10 and its rooted. I have the same trouble since i rooted it but the strange thing is that recents shows apps in securefolder but not the apps in workspace
Also neither securefolder nor workspace allows screenshots
why can i have the SF apps showing in recents but no the ones in workprofile?
I've been using oneplus phones for the last few years, and I love their integration with app locker.
Does our note 10+ has such feature?
I know there're lots of app lockers on Google play, but most of them aren't integrated seamlessly, they are just showing a layer on top of the app that you're trying to open, and can be easily removed.
Or is there a launcher that integrates well and have such feature?
I tried Poco launcher, but you can't individually lock an app, they are just hidden.
Suggestions?
No personal experience with App Locker, but maybe you can try using the Secure Folder integrated into Samsung phones? I think you can put a copy of apps in there that works separate from the 'public' copy.

Yeah i tried that, but i don't really want to create two copies of my protected apps. just a simple lock request before the app is openned
anyone?
Secure folder is one of the most useful features with a samsung device, and withe size of the internal memory, I dont see what may be your concern

Just tried bitdefender, it's not as good as there's a lag when u open an app before the protection layer is shown.
Is there one where it opens the security layer first before opening the app?
Just install as normal apks. Then, clear cache and restart device.
Apks come from apkmirror. So, for newer version you will have to rely on them except the frameworķ.
it works for Galaxy A324G?
How clear cache ?
Just install from „APKMirror“ and make sure your gallery app is updated and update the photo editing app located in the gallery app, which is responsible for „Object Eraser“, „Shadow Eraser“ and „Reflection Eraser“
From my experience, you don't need to clear any cache.

With the new update, „Samsung“ has blocked the sideloading of the editing app, which is highly disappointing, restricting features, that can be enabled.

Well yes, I did some deep investigating using „ADB“ and one thing I realised, that there is a secret user profile which keeps „Contacts, Gallery, Calendar, Camera, Samsung Internet, My Files, Samsung notes and the photo editor app“ (probably even more) which from what I can tell is from „Safe folder“ even when not used, this is confirmed by installing a program and adding it in „Safe Folder“ deleting the app from system or trying to update/downgrade the app the same error will appear, since it is encrypted „ADB“ has no clue if it is a user or something, since it has no idea, but it is a unique „Safe Folder“ user which if it has the same app it will lock you out of: Updating, Downgrading and Full-On Uninstall the app in question.

I've tried to install the apps linked but some failed to install, that was some time ago so I don't remember which. But I intend to reset my phone soon and will try it again.

The „Object eraser, Shadow eraser and reflection eraser“ install no problem, it's the fact, that they are tied to the editing app, which is installed on multiple user phase, meaning without downgrading before the change (when „One UI 4.1“ launched) even resetting the phone won't work, unless you are an insane debugger with „One UI“ and „ADB“ then you are sorta out of luck.
Object and reflection eraser install but don't show up in apps, even after clear cache and restart
