Downgrade Galaxy Note 8 from Pie to Oreo? - Galaxy Note 8.0 (Tablet) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooti

Hello community,
I would like to downgrade my Galaxy Note 8 from android 9 to android 8 because I like the Samsung Experience UI better.
Is there any way to go back from pie?
Now it is known that from a certain bootloader version no more downgrades are possible.
Here is the current BL Version from it: N950FXXUDDTH1
Thanks for your help

This is the forum for the Samsung 8" tablet (approx. 2014), not the phone. The tablet is stuck with Android 4.4 from Samsung and 7.1 (Nougat) from LineageOS. Neither Oreo nor Pie are to be had here.

Hi! Same problem here. i found an answer for this question on another forum but it'n not good.
"The A520F is on android 7 and so you are asking for a downgrade to 6.0.1.
This may not be possible if the secure bootloader has been updated."
I tried many older roms. i can downgrade in 7.0 versions but 7.0 to 6.0 not working.
And why do you want to downgrade? I seen many posts about this problem.
My reason is i think my camera is more slower after updates. i went to a shop and compared my updated phone with a j5 2017 and the j5 2017 was much faster and smoother. my camera refresh rate seems lower and the focusing is very slow.
I don't understand the manufacturers why touch something whats working well. This is one year old mobile with many patches. after every update, things look worse.
Maybe we will get oreo updates with better compatibility. or somebody will make a better custom rom.

Looking for a compliant device I can buy close to 139x70 size like Galaxy A5/J5/S7

Hi,
I'm looking for a device close to Galaxy A5 size and performances which I can install Microg-LineageOS.
Samsung is not good since firmware upgrades of 2018, can't go back to nougat with my Galaxy A5 SM-A520F, so stuck without MicroG and LineageOS 16.0 beta.
Any recommended device wich is not PITA to install LineageOS-MicroG please?
Or any workaround to downgrade my SM-A520F to Nougat ? (backups, tricks, anything apart Odin that is not working because of the new firmwares)
Thanks
Can I buy a Nexus 5 with any stock ROM ? Seems the good specs

Samsung Note 10 + N975U won`t update

Hi all.....
I live in middle east and I bought unlooked Samsung Note 10 + USA version with Android 9 and I don't have AT&T sim card so when I tried to update through OTA it says "you have the last update" but others got android 11 and I still at android
is there any solution ? Please help
Updates ( read: patches ) get rolled by OEM / carrier if they deem it necessary.
What you probably mean is Upgrading from Android 9 to Android 11. IMO this you only can achive by flashing a Custom ROM based on Android 11 what is suitable to your phone.

[FIRMWARE] [ODIN] Samsung Galaxy in softbrick after Android update

Yesterday I decided to upgrade the Android version of my Samsung Galaxy A50 from 9 Pie to 10 (and after that I wanted to upgrade it to Android 11), buy after the installing process of Android 10 finished, my phone was not able to start anymore, showing me the Android Recovery page and the error “/system/bin/tune2fs is missing”. The upgrade to Android 10 didn’t work.
I think I should install some firmware with Odin, but I never did that before. Also, my phone isn’t rooted. Can someone tell me how to do it? And, in view of the fact that I want Android 11 at the end, should I search for Android 9, 10 or 11 firmware? Can you “jump” from Android 9 to 11?

Android 8.1 to 9

I have a Samsung J2 SM-S260DL still stuck on Android 8.1. Some of the apps I use are now only compatible with Android 9 +. Does Samsung automatically update the phone's Android ---because I contacted Tracfone and they told me it's up to the phone manufacturer. I tried the phone's software update, but don't get the 9 update.

What firmware version is currently on your device? You will find the info in the settings about the phone.

Android 8.1.0_0008
Build MTAJQ.S260DLUDU2ASE4
Kernel 3.18.14-16126611
I don't think Samsung after 4 years of releasing this phone has the motivation to improve Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition) to version 9. Enjoy what you have.
p.s.
What compels you to look for android 9?

B/c a few of the apps I use are now only compatible with android 9+. I've only had the phone a couple of years--I got it from QVC. They tend to sell phones already released for cheap. I got the Samsung J2, 1500 data, 1500 texts, 1500 minutes with 1 year of service for 59.99 --on 6 payments of like 10 bucks. Phone works great. Is in excellent condition---but just need Android 9 b/c some of the app updates need newer versions of android
