Help my speaker and phone performance is buggy - Nokia 6.1 (2018) Questions & Answers

Hello good day!
My phone nokia 6.1 (TA-1043) is bit buggy after a factory reset.
Here's the problem:
When unplugged from the charger it becomes laggy, speaker is choppy and sometimes powers down when it can't process what on the screen. But when charged it runs perfectly no issue at all.
Currently at October Patch

I have the same phone(TA-1043) and after the October security update, the loudspeaker clicks and mutes when at a certain volume. The phone no longer charges fast as well.

[Q] DHD screen turns on with no reason

Hello all,
Since this morning I have a problem with my DHD. When I turn off the screen, it is supposed to stay of until I turn it on again. Since this morning it starts turning itself on over and over again. Everytime I turn off the screen, it switches on in a few seconds. But once it's on it doesn't go off by itself. So I doubt if it is a problem with the on/off switch. What else could it be?
Edit:
This seems not to happen when the phone is connected with an USB cable. Either on my PC or on the regular power charger.

Have you installed anything new at all. Also have you restarted the phone since it began exhibiting this behaviour. Make sure it's a proper restart aswell by turning off fastboot i settings, it's under power settings I believe.
Thanks for your fast reply.
I have not installed anything new since two days ago. And the problem really started this morning. So I guess it is not caused by a program I installed a couple of days ago.
I have indeed restarted my phone. Also turned it off, toke the battery out and waited a couple of minutes (just to make sure it was really really really turned off) but this did not solve the problem.
The thing I find very weird is that it does not happen when the phone is attached to USB...

Maybe USB debugging, or possibly a short on the mini USB connector. What firmware do you have on the phone?
Android 2.3.3
HTC Sense 2.1
I also think it might have something to do with a short in the micro USB connector. Have cleaned when the phone was of. Seems to have solved the problem, but that's only for the past few minutes...

Hopefully, that's the problem solved.

Darn! The problem still isn't gone. It appears to be less frequent than an hour ago, but the screen still turns on every couple of minutes
This is happening to me as well. The phone screen keeps coming on and then going off after a bit. This and randomly going into car mode and whenever I make or receive calls, the phone speaker is switched on automatically.

Indeed! I just noticed that too. I received a call and my speaker was turned on without me turning it on manual..
Update: my phone stopped switching its screen on automatically, but the problem with the speaker still is not gone.
My DHD has started showing both of these symptoms, ie, switching itself on from standby and the speaker phone being activated on incoming calls .. ever since I upgraded to Android 2.3. I'm not sure if this is something to do with 2.3, the DHD or T-Mobile (my provider) .. or a combination of all 3.
And an app called Car Panel keeps launching ..

I have this problem, too.
Before the last update of my DHD the backlight turns on in standby for some milliseconds. I saw only a short flash in standby.
After my update to version 2.3 this happens everey 7 minutes.
And the backlight is on for about 10 seconds, then turns off for the next 7 minutes.

DHD light off on
I had the same problem going to settings/dock and turning off auto launch and then power setting turning off fast boot appears to work so far

Lollipop: display turns and stays ON after charging

I updated to Lollipop this week and a serious issue I am facing is that the display turns ON automatically once the charging reaches 100% and then stays ON.
I keep my phone on overnight charging and finding it warm in the morning as display was ON from the point it was fully charged.
Any solution? This is a serious issue as it can damage phone and even charger. I am using wireless charger. Never had this issue with kitkat.
No one faced this problem?
Thanks
Hi,
I had the issue on Stock Lollipop from LG, I switched to AndroidNow (8.0), no more issue with that ! Looks like it's with LG's version...
Last thing I'm trying to get rid of, is the wireless charging that turns the screen on when finished charging, and then turns on every few minutes ... It's quite annoying !

Thanks, so are you saying that the second issue is still there? I just reverted to kitkat purely because of it (and partly because of head-up notifications)
Yes indeed, the second one is still there... At least it's not turned on all the time and hot, but I can't use it at night because of it. I use wireless charging only at my office while looking forward for a solution...
Some say they'll stick to KK, but I love the smooth Lollipop and few updates it brings
Mostly : Agent for known devices and places for unlocking without code (With my Pebble, and at home, very usefull) and the layout for opened apps, the fact that Lollipop put back in after rebooting etc...

Thanks, I agree with you that lollipop is smooth but I really don't want to damage my phone if it stays ON during the night (I always keep it for overnight charge). I also disliked head-up notification and lock screen notifications which if I turned off, creates undesirable side effect with incoming calls. Reduced battery life is another observation. Maybe those are specific to LG stock version but will wait for other ROMs to address those issues.
I got the same problem an it is annoying like hell. Holy crap, updating to Lollipop made this phone so utterly crappy.
Is the I any solution to this?

No, this problem and heads-up notification forced me to move back to KK. Hope it gets resolved soon.
I am on the edge of doing it aswell. What good is a fast phone for if basic stuff does not work. I am waking up more or less each night now because the friggin display is lighting up my room.
Having the same problem. Keep screen on setting in developer options does nothing. One thing I've noticed is if I wirelessly charge my S5 with the screen locked it doesn't turn off but if I place the phone on the charger with the screen on and unlocked the screen will go off until the lock phone after so long option gets enabled. Either way my wireless charger isn't strong enough to charge the phone with the screen on so all it does is drain the battery and overheat it. We need a cure.

M8S Problems

Hi guys
I got an HTC M8s less than 2 months now and it has so many issues it's driving me insane at this stage....
It's on stock ROM unrooted with all the latest updates.
First issue that came up was not recognising the headphones after i plugged them in, that eventually went away after lots of searching and fiddling with settings etc.
Then it started going into Car mode while it was resting on the table, no input on my end no triggers set for it, hell i don't even own a car to use this function....
I disabled HTC car and that stopped.
The included micro usb cable somehow went bad, tried it on other devices, it will not charge....
Now i'm having some weird charging behaviour, it drops out of charging and resumes or sometimes it just stops charging (that doesn't happen when the phone is charging while being switched off, so i'm guessing it's not a hardware issue)
Another massive problem is that all incoming/outgoing calls go to the speaker which almost burst my ear drum first time that happened.
I have looked in every single forum out there and have tried all possible solutions, ranging from disabling google Chrome to trying every available speaker management/toggle related program on the play store but nothing seems to be working.
Some times if i plug in the headphones, make a call and then unplug them, then it works as it should for a little while. But later on it reverts to the previous mentioned behaviour.
One thing i have noticed, before it routes calls to the speaker, the screen will light up, no notifications come up and then all calls go to the speaker.
I used Wakelock to try and find out which program triggers the screen wake in order to remove it and maybe solve this issue but nothing came up.
Any input would be greatly appreciated as i am at the end of my rope with this device....
I still have my HTC DHD A9191 and i never had any issues with that phone, i'm very dissappointed with HTC :/
Thanks in advance
Yanni
Less then 2 months......return it ! Not even sure what you want to achieve here besides messing up warranty ?
I am using Spign slim armor case on m8s and after using it my power button isn't working.
and I have a Motion Launch problem when phone is on my pocket it opens camera, calls someone because of the sensor.Any fix about that?

ok man
look i have htc one m8 + one m7+one max
the one m7 had the same problem of u
i will give to you one solution for try
i try it on the one m7 and its work
but on one max not work
on m8 not test yet
try this:
1. Turn phone OFF
2. Let charge for AT LEAST 10mins even if it doesn't look like it's charging.
3. Press and hold POWER + VOL UP + VOL DOWN for AT LEAST 2mins. Anything less will not reset the charge mode.
4. After 2mins release the buttons and the phone should boot as normal
if it not charge at the first time then try it again andd u will be OK
Hi Hazem
Thanks for the input, i'll give this a go when i get back home and let you know if it works out.
Should i try this when the phone is at 4-5% ? And then let it charge all the way ?
I'm experiencing these same issues as well after rooting my M8. Hopefully someone here knows what the issue is.
Well for me all issues remain unresolved.
My guess so far for the culprit seems to be the magnetic sensor, either badly programmed or a factory defect.

u must charge ur phone
turn off the phone
let him charge to full about 3 hours
and try the method
it will work
i test it on 2 one m7 phones
let me know if that work
thx
Sorry Hazeem I understand that English isn't your first language, and you are trying to help but you are not making much sence....
You are basically telling me to charge my phone, then switch it off and charge it again even though it's already charged for another 3 hours....
Ok an update !
HTC Released a service pack along with an update for the car application, after installing these and a couple of reboots the charging problems stopped and the phone doesn't seem to be waking up without any reason, as it did before.
The calls getting routed to the speaker still remain but thanks to an app called Auto Speaker, I've managed to work around this issue. Before the updates this application had no effect, but now it works as it should by turning off the speaker when the proximity sensor is blocked.
I hope I am not celebrating too soon on this and I'll keep this post updated if anything else, related to these issues, happens.
Update 2
So far so good and with another unexpected benefit, I removed my phone from the charger Saturday morning around 11 and as of now Monday 7:30 it's at 27% !

S20 Random Reboot

Yes, it's done after unplug headphones.
Keep an eye on this

Happened to my girlfriend as well. It's a "feature" that's on by default. Hopefully this is all that's going on. Easy fix: Settings -- Device Care -- ... -- Advanced -- Disable Auto Restart.

[help] [issue] [a50f speaker issue] [help]

Hey, I wanted to know how can i fix my speakers.
After Keeping my phone idle for some time ,
for like 1-2 hours the speakers just stop working as in, they "start" to work if put in my charging cable,
then that charging up sound makes the speakers start working again.,
so after that,
i use my phone for some time and keep it aside.
And the next time i pick my phone the speaker isn't working.
I've missed all my calls, the media doesn't play, like everything that should make sound isn't.
So restarting makes them come alive again and the charge method, but now after few times even putting it on charging cable doesn't seem work. Also, I've noticed the System UI to be lagging a lot, to a point that it can't keep up with locking/unlocking the phone.
[UPDATE]: Now I've to restart the phone to make them work *every time* I want to use my phone's speaker, they just work for like couple of minutes after restarting and stop working completely agian.

I had faced a similar problem. But in my case, the speakers and headphone jack stopped working for a couple of days. I've did all I could like booting to safe mode, restarting and all but nothing helped.
So when I was just about to take it to the service centre, the speakers miraculously started working in the middle of a call when I by mistakenly turned on the speaker.
I was like dumbstruck and still didn't understand what the problem was...
