Now my phone thinks it's a D800. I was able to get into download mode and tried using LG Flashtool. I used the 850 dll and .tot but got an error.
Download Fail!
Device model is different.
Check phone or dll.
I read something about using a modified .dll but cant find more info on it. Feeling pretty stupid for possibly ruining a $400 device with such an idiotic mistake. Any advice you guys can give me is truly appreciated.
Thanks Guys

I had a similar issue but it was my d800 lg g2, i flashed a diferent rom by accident that wasn't made for the phone. I'm assuming you tried twrp and it didn't let you enter it?

Sorry if this is an absolutely stupid question, but you can get into twrp from download mode? I had an app that rebooted into twrp, that's the way I did it. Sorry for the noob answers, I'm completely new to rooting.

If you pull the battery so the phone is full powered off, press and hold the volume down button, and the power button down at the same time until you see the LG logo, then release just the power button, keep holding the volume down button, and then quickly press power and hold it again, you will be brought to a factory reset page, that tells you it will wipe all your data, don't worry about it, nothing will wipe, scroll down with the volume key to the yes button, hit power to accept it, it will ask you to confirm it, hit power twice and it should boot into twrp. If it boots into twrp, like it should, then you can either sideload a rom, flash an existing one you have on the phone, or hopefully you have made a twrp backup of your previous rom to restore. If instead of going into twrp, it puts you back into fastboot or download mode after agreeing to the factory reset, then there is a few more things to try.

My G3 shows up in Device Manager under Portable Devices for about 40 seconds, then it gets a yellow triangle and says "This device cannot start. (code 10)"
It doesn't show up in "Computer" where all the HDD and other devices show up. So I can't access it.

You'll want to get the fastboot drivers, not just the adb drivers. Under device manager after you get the fastboot drivers installed, makes sure the Windows device manager shows your device, and replace the default installed driver for it with the new fastboot one you installed, open a command window with cmd, and search for "fastboot devices" and it should show a long number come back under that list now.
Also, if your computer shows the device for a short period before it disappears, you may have to go into your computers settings to disable auto-driver install, then you can just manually choose the fastboot drivers.

For me, flashtool is incredibly finicky and it takes me many different tries to make it work properly, i would try downloading the latest twrp for your G3, and extract from the .zip file the recovery.img and then try to fastboot boot that recovery to your device like i have previously explained. If that does not work for you, and flashtool does not then you can use fastboot flash commands and flash each of the partitions of your phones stock rom.

After some searching it looks like you can't disable auto driver install in windows 7 Premium. When I uninstalled the driver and plugged the phone back in, I get "Device driver was not successfully installed" In that window, I choose "change settings" and choose "Never install driver software from windows update", but it does anyway. When I go to update driver--> Browse my computer for driver software-->I choose my folder with the fastboot drivers, I get "The best diver software for your device is already installed". Now my phone comes up as LGE Android Net MTP Device, it doesn't show as G3 anymore. Also when I enter fastboot devices in cmd I get 'fastboot' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. No matter what i do, my phone goes to the Firmware Update screen with the USB symbol on it. IN the small box below the progress bar, it reads: User 50.0 AS0.0 B40 UHS
S U LG-800 04.4.2 Hrev_10
CloudyG2 2.2
I don't know if this is helpful at all.
Pm me, also it would be helpful if to have team viewer so that I can help you.

What happened was that I tried to update via Mi Suite
Everything completed nicely but it just wont boot at all
Is there anyway to wipe data without waiting for the unlocking procedure from xiaomi?
There's no recovery menu apparently
Edit: Managed to solved it by booting into EDL mode
How did you boot it in EDL mode? Just curious... I've tried couple of methods but it wouldn't enter EDL.

Power off or restart
press both vol+ and vol-
insert usb while pressing
should viberate at this point
then it should request to install qualcomm drivers
with the current setup of Max, you cannot boot into EDL from adb? or maybe you are doing it wrong.
what i did was to boot on fastboot mode, then issue the command
Code:
reboot oem edl
the command is different for Mi Max.
I have exactly the same problem. But I'm not experienced on Fastboot, as my second phone is a S3 which is way easier to unlock.
Could you describe in more detail how you have accessed the EDL mode? The only thing I can use is "The Fastboot-Bunny" which does not help at all.
When I use the Vol+/- method my screen stays black and my phone connects to the pc. But how did you continue now?
Could you provide a link to the software?
Thank you very much in advance.
(Can not use my phone since update, exactly the same situation...)
When I do as you told, my phone shows a black screen. I don't know whether the phone is really on or off. I hear the "connect-sound" of windows, it seems to be connected as I can see it as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008 (COM10),
but what do I have to do now??

If you see Qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008 (COM10), run Mi Flash and flash the ROM again.
MiFlash won't work due to locked bootloader. I already tried it. Flashing Rom with MiSuite does not help too.
Ooopps no way you can do it yourself. The only chance is the unlocked bootloader. From there you can install twrp then supersu(newer super su fixes the boot for my case)
We have the same problem. But mine is unlocked bootloader.
What i did is boot to fastboot. Flash the rom with miflash. Then i turned it off because its still useless if i wait it still stock at mi logo so i boot fastboot again and flash twrp. from there adb i reboot to twrp then flash supersu. I wait like 10 mins only and yes it boot to normal
You can install TWRP on it follow this guide even if the bootloader is locked:

MiFlash can work both in FastBoot or EDL modes. In FastBoot mode, locked bootloader prevents FastBoot server to execute "flash" command. But in EDL mode, MiFlash works with any bootloader state.

So in EDL mode with a locked bootloader will it unlock the bootloader? I am confused abt whether this is the case if I choose "delete all" which will prob incl data & bootloader.
It also seems in fastboot mode, mi flash can only work with unlock bootloader. Any reasons why unlocking is required?

Hello
I have a question. I'm trying to enable Fastboot mode on my Lg G7 Fit. But when I try to activate Fastboot with the command "adb reboot fastboot" the device boots normally. What do I have to do to get into fastboot mode?
With the phone shutdown, have you tried holding VolumeDown while connecting to PC?

Yes. However, first the LG G7 Fit logo is displayed, then the battery level and if I hold down even longer, the phone starts quite usual.
Micro-USB?
Edit: When searching I noticed one thing: On the website of Hardreset It is said that I have to plug in a MICRO USB CABLE, but the phone only has Usb-C. Has that something to do with my problem? (I guess not)
This is one for the "absurdly easy once you know how" department.
* Turn off phone, unplug USB.
* Press (and hold, obviously) Volume-Up.
* Plug in USB.
* Fastboot logo appears.
* Run "fastboot whatever".

Sorry, but I repeat myself. Unfortunately this manual is only for non EU smartphones. If it worked, I would not ask. By pressing the volume-up button I enter the download mode. Volume Down does nothing
You're right, I was confused. Sorry.
So it seems that we need to figure out how to mimic LG's firmware upgrade protocol sufficiently to replace the recovery partition. (And get a TWRP for the phone.)
Both are nontrivial. I found https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1742287615000535 that has some minimal info on the first step but I had no luck so far reproducing that.

Hmmm ... I understand only half of what was there, however, the website says this here: "The firmware update process runs only when smartphones enter a special mode firmware update, or the download mode. Only the bootloader and USB function can operate in this mode and a new system firmware can be flashed. " Could it be that the bootloader can be accessed via download mode?
Edit: No, you can't. Pressing the button combination for Fastboot in Download Mode does nothing. Fazit: There is no Fastboot+Bootloader on european G7 Fit's.
Edit edit: Android 9 Update coming soon. I hope that the Fastboot Mode will be added...
This is fastboot mode for LG? Last LG I had was a Nexus so I dont know how it should look like.
Volume UP while connecting phone brings up this mode.
Fastboot list devices command freezes..so it doesent work atm.

I was playing normally the phone discharged turned off, and when I connect it only shows the android one screen over and over, the led that shows that it's charging doesn't turns on, I have nothing weird installed, didn't even knew about fastboot or roms, or anything like that until 15 minutes ago, so the fastboot options are not and cannot be activated, does it have a solution? do I just let it be connected for a few hours and try again, or what, i'm a noob on this matters so I don't know what to do. Thanks

The fastboot screen shows, but I can't do anything, and if I connect it to my PC after watching somethings like going to CMD and trying some commands the console doesn't even recognize those commands, maybe I have to install something for it to read it? I don't know, if this helps in anyway, I appreciate it.

No I didn't enable the USB debugging, and no I haven't been able to do it, the mi flash program needs extra installations but always sends an error message and closes, I really don't know how to do this kind of things, I tried with a program called MiFlash Unlock, but it needs a Xiaomi account connected with the number and I don't have one, I really don't know what to do from here, plus I've read that I need the rom to install and don't know where can I find it and which one is the one that I need to install.
Once again thanks and if someone can help me further than this is appreciated

Anyway you can't do many things although you should have enabled USB debugging atleast you decided to unlock device but fastboot is (almost) useless for device with locked boatloader.
The first thing I do no matter I don't think to root or modify my device is enabling USB debugging just to have more options to recover from an eventual brick.
Now try to do the next before to go to the other option; try to enter to recovery from device off, using volume up + power for some seconds then format/factory reset and let us know what happened.

Ok, I supposed it, some partitions get corrupted while device fails to reboot.
Your last solution is using EDL mode, you will find many tutorials on YouTube to put device in this mode using test point method, then flashing the official stock rom through MiFlash tool.
To take in account MiFlash tool doesn´t work while in fastboot mode on devices with locked bootloaders so you have to use it in EDL (Emergency DownLoad) mode, no other workaround known on that. (for this model)

Hello Everyone,
I Have A Strange Problem When I Press Power+Down Button Then Device Goes To Bootloader/Fastboot And Mi Bunny Appears, But After 3-5 Seconds Mobile Device Automatically Switch Off Without Connecting The Cable Or Doing Anything.
Note That, I Have A Latest Build V11.0.9.0.QDLMIXM Installed Without Rooting And Device Working Properly. Since I Just Want To Root The Device And Bootloader Is Unlocked. The Problem Is That Device Doesn't Stay On Bootloader/Fastboot Mode.
Thanks In Advance !!!
Thanks,

Can you get fastboot to see it in this brief window? I'm wondering if it will stay if it sees fastboot but maybe reboots because it doesn't? (Or because some other app on your PC is confusing it?)

In Addition To That, I Can Use ADB Commands & Shows My Mobile Connectivity When I Use.

I run this on my PC and it waits for a device.
$ fastboot getvar current-slot
< waiting for any device >
3-5 seconds should be enough time to connect your device and see if fastboot can talk to it (and if that stops it from rebooting).
If it happens when there is no cable plugged in... that's a bit more concerning. Does it also happen if you get to fastboot by typing adb reboot bootloader (from a normally-booted system)?

Thank You Dear. Yes I Can Use The Command On ADB When Mobile Is Switched On Here Is The Example Snapshot.
The Problem Is That When I Boot To Bootloader It Doesn't Stay On Bootloader And Shutdowns Automatically With In 3-5 Seconds. As You Suggested Me To Check The Command When Mobile Is On Bootloader Mode The Shell Shows "waiting for any device". Ahd Restarts Automatically.

I don't know exactly what the bootloader does while in fastboot mode, but I'm going to guess it draws the rabbit and then gets ready to talk to the PC. And something fails and it dies.
If it's working normally, that's something... But it's going to stop you from unlocking the bootloader.
I have no idea how to fix. Maybe EDL with the test points? There are 2 aboot partitions (apparently hold fastboot).
# ls -l aboot*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 21 1971-09-16 02:23 aboot_a -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p31
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 21 1971-09-16 02:23 aboot_b -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p32
I think the fastboot mode will exit automatically if it doesn't receive any command from PC. It happened to me before and about the <waiting for any device> when you did a command probably related to it. Check if the driver are properly installed because it happened to me on Windows 10 but not on Windows 8.1.

I think the fastboot mode will exit automatically if it doesn't receive any command from PC. It happened to me before and about the <waiting for any device> when you did a command probably related to it. Thankyou Mewwo2,
Could You Please Check Your Device ? Without Connecting The Cable , That Your Device Automatically Switched Off In Few Seconds Or Not. Please Let Me Know So I Can Figure Out Or Take A Clue For Fixation.
Secondly I Have Windows 8 And Drivers Are Properly Installed. If The Drivers Have Issue The Adb Command Doesn't Work And Doesn't Shows My Mobile (Note That I am Taking About When Mobile Isn't on Bootloader Mode)
Thanks In Advance...
Can you type another adb command like 'fastboot oem device-info' and see the output.
it's not a problem.
Mi a2 lite turns off automatically from fastboot when it doesnt detect any fastboot signal.
You can go to device manager and then see if mi a2 lite gets recognized as a device, now go to cmd and type fastboot devices and boot to fastboot again, now it shouldn't power off again.
