Huawei U8665 Clockworkmod Install Kit

Hi all,
I wanted to share this CWM package for the Fusion2 AKA Huawei U8665 so someone could PLEASE get me a dump of the factory image. Just follow the instructions and do a backup of your SYSTEM.IMG since I have lost all copies of mine even though the phone was successfully unocked.
Thanks & let me know what your results are. I developed the first ROOT package for the Fusion2 and I believe there is a lot of development left to do on this phone since the prepaid bloadware is deeply installed in the system image.
Thanks & please anyone post your NAND/CWM backups so we can resume development.
Thank you!

Update Firetv from old software

I´m on software 51.1.3.0_user_513011820 and had blocked updates. Since its not root I wanted to upgrade to latest 51.1.6.3_user_516012020. So I unblocked updates updates and FireTV downloads the latest firmware. However then I press install - Firetv reboots and then get stucked at white Amazon logo.
So I unplug and then plug it in again. It's again software 51.1.3.0_user_513011820 . And when I go to system check for updates it's again "install", and if I do - white amazon logo (and the box's white light is blinking).
Any idea on how to force this update through?
Check if there is enough free space on the internal memory for the update download. You could also try this:

Ok, so I have maybe done something wrong? I installed the CWM v6.0.5.1.4.a - and from there I connected a usb keyboard and wipedm data/factory reset and wiped cache partition.
Then I reboot it starts to upload new software - after downloaded it goes back to CWM menu. How do I install update.zip from CWM since I do not longer have access to ADB?

CWM should support ADB. With CWM installed you should try to flash a prerooted image (http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-tv/development/prerooted-stock-images-t2882337) and not a signed image from Amazon.
Ok, I will first try to unblock updates through router or opendns. I guess the main issue here is that I don't have access to ADB / the device when I'm in CWM. But if I can through the inital process of firetv trying to upgrade when connected to internet, I guess I can access the device again and install the image through zip.
Right now the problem is that I cant connect to the device when I'm in CWM, and therefore not push an image to SD card.
So i blocked updates in router and got access to my FTV without update error.
Just a question then. I do have SU and CWM installed. Am I rooted then - I dont understand since I am on the firmware 5.1.1.3.0 that is not rootable....
cwm can only be installed if you were rooted. It has protections to prevent you from accidentally unrooting. The rom you are on wouldn't be able to be rooted if it was installed from Amazon, which is why the pre-rooted version (which you must have) is good. Are you looking for OS 5? I'm sure @rbox will be releasing a pre-rooted version of that too when it's ready. I would wait for that rather than flash an unrootable version from Amazon (which would need a special process anyway due to protections)

Unbrick Fire TV Stick 4K. Help!

Hello! I was trying to clone one Fire TV Stick 4K to another. I've backup with TWRP from one FireTV Stick 4K next partitions: System, System Image, Vendor, Vendor Image, Data, Boot. Then was trying to restore all of them on another stick with changing backup folder serial number and when another FireTV Stick 4K has been rebooted it stuck on the FireTV logo ((( And I don't know what to do with it know.
I was trying to flash Fire TV Stick 4K (mantis) Prerooted Stock Images [6.2.6.8_r1] but receive an error "Failed to mount '/vendor' (Invalid argument)"
Could you help, please? Thank you!

I had the same problem in the past before, try flashing the original stock rom in TWRP and reboot. Rerun the exploit and push this zip file to the 4K Fire Stick.
Original Stock Rom: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-8Md0W6V7UNKkGb1uS2WfIKjjevEEaN7/view?usp=drivesdk
Also if you're having problems pushing the zip, try adb shell, twrp sideload, then adb sideload (the zip file). It'll say copying system image unconditionally along with the vendor images so you shouldn't get the failed to mount vendor anymore and the brick will be gone. Let me know if you have any questions.
Got the same problem. Did this work?

Can you also help me with some of the terminology used here - for example on phones I have rooted in the past, I have used backup/restore and install many times but I am not sure how to do this "try adb shell, twrp sideload, then adb sideload (the zip file)".
On the advanced menu of TWRP I see Copy Log, File Manager, Terminal and ADB Sideload. When I choose the last on the list,ADB Sideload the screen gives me another failed to mount /vendor message with "Starting ADB sideload feature, which I am not sure what to do with any of this section of TWRP and if TWRP is to be used rather than a PC to do this. Thanks

I resolved the problem after sleeping on the problem and found you can use the Install option to restore the factory image even though you get the same /vendor error initially.
I'd still like to learn how to issue ADB push and ADB commands to this stick considering the only way I can see to get to the TWRP menu is to use a mouse via an OTG USB connection and that blocks a PC from connecting and supplying mouse support at the same time - unless I'm really missing something.

How did you get the factory image onto the stick? I'm stuck with no recovery on the stick currently and ADB is not recognized in TWRP.
I plugged the Windows formatted USB stick in the PC (eFat works for read like this but has problems with backing up to it but you are OK reading off an eFat), downloaded the zip file to the stick., plugged the stick into the powered hub where the mouse is plugged in and the hub is powering the AFS through an internal or extra OTG, powered off and back on the stick which booted to TWRP, clicked cancel to get TWRP Menu, clicked Install, clicked Select Storage, looked at the file sizes of all the storage options and selected the one that matched the total capacity of the stick, then opened the folder where the zip restore file was, selected the full zip restore image and slid the slider to the right with the mouse to begin install. I then saw the text going across the TV screen stating which directories were being restored, then it stopped, then I selected the option to wipe the two caches and clicked the reboot option and the the firestick rebooted with no TWRP menu this time but back to the black and white menu, then to the orange over white background where the device takes a long time to go through its initialization sequence and then after a few minutes it boots back into the option to pair the remote, sign on and do all that stuff again. I did a complete initial configuration again and checked out the quality of the restore by signing in and poking around, then got up my nerve and applied the exploit once more.
Hi! I have exactly the same problem as @Simpson84. I've cloned the 4 partitions (system image, vendor image, data and boot) from one 4K stick to another (same model) via TWRP backup / restore, and now the stick which I've restored into is stuck at the black screen with with fire tv logo (does not reach the white and orange screen boot with the 3 dots). I have access to TWRP and I've already tried everything I could remember:
- flash stock images (update-kindle-mantis-NS62* - tried with several versions)
- wiping cache, dalvik and data
- flash rooted images
- re-run exploit again
- rename backed-up partitions from win to img and flash with fastboot
However, the result is always the same. The normal boot does not get past the black screen with white logo.
Does anyone know any other possible solution?
Thanks!

Redo the unlock process.
Then format data (type "yes) and then push your rooted rom and magisk back to mantis /sdcard.
Reflash
Wipe dalvik and cache
Reboot
Don't rename any partitions just let kamikiri do its work

If you can get into twrp, maybe try the 'format' data option, type yes, then wipe system/vendor, cache, dalvik, then install the kamakiri.zip and the latest stock rom followed by magisk.
Many thanks both to @Bertonumber1 and @Sus_i
I tried your suggestions but the 4k stick keeps stuck at the black and white logo. I have another two 4k sticks, one for android development and testing and another one for the living room, so I don't really need it. I just wanted to fix it for the challenge and because it seems that there's nothing wrong on the hardware side.
You can see in the attached images my attempt to recover.

Looks almost ok from here.
Only thing to remember is that you've to flash magisk behind the stock rom, as the last step just before the reboot... If you flash Magisk infront the rom, Magisk gets overwritten during the stock boot image flash.
In case that won't help, I would flash the kamakiri GPT-fix from here:
[UNLOCK][ROOT][TWRP][UNBRICK] Fire TV Stick 4K (mantis)

forum.xda-developers.com
Extract the two files from the zip in the kamakiri folder, make sure that the gpt-mantis.bin file goes to the bin folder... then run this using the fireISO:
./gpt-fix.sh
(you need to short again).
Thanks @Sus_i. Indeed I'm always flashing the rom first and then magisk.
I've shorted the stick again and ran successfully ./gpt-fix.sh but it's still stuck at the black and white logo.
Probably I'll try to install the LineageOS to see what it looks like.

Unfortunately, there isn't a lineage rom for the 4k.
Have you tried to install a rom + magisk behind the gpt-fix?
If yes, I can't think of a reason why the stick won't boot at this point.

lock the bootloader again and do the whole process over.
I had this problem before with mantis and the only way I could get it to work again (Unlocked/Rooted) was by locking it down back to stock, letting the stick do all the ota updates :
Then after doing the short process over.
Adb Push to /sdcard
6.2.7.1 prerooted (or a rom of your choice)
Magisk 21.1 zip
Install prerooted first
Then flash magisk
Wipe dalvik/cache
Reboot
It's a pain in the ass and a long way to go but it workes in my case anyway. If your sticks not working then it's worth a shot

Amazon Fire TV with Teamwin Recovery Project

Hi
I have a Amazon Fire TV (2016) with Teamwin recovery project 3.0.0-5 on it which is making Amazon and everything in German (and I an English) how can I remove Teamwin as it says about pressing the RIGHT key to launch recovery in 5 seconds (when I first boot it up) but I do not have a keyboard to do this
Amend
I have now tried a Bluetooth keyboard but still no bootup it will not respond in me pressing RIGHT arrow key (cursor key) to get into "Launch Recovery" mode of Teamwin, it just defaults to the Boot Normally which is highlighted.
Please Help me (anyone) while I still have some hair left...

You don't need to do anything on this screen, it should boot just the fireOS after the timer is gone.
If this is not the case, something is up (i.e. bricked). Then you need to connect an USB Keyboard, in order to use TWRP for unbricking.
There isn't an english version of the fireOS or TWRP, it's universal, but you can change the language if you like ofc.

Hi Sus_i
No what I mean is, it's boots fine from the first screen of Teamwin in to Amazon fireOS but once I am in Amazon main screen all the films,TV programs etc or written & sound all in German, plus if I was to select most of them I get an error message showing
"Internet connection error" Were unable to connect to Prime Video. Please verify your device internet connection.
Error code: PLR_PRS_CALL_FAILED
BUT may internet is perfectly fine.
What I think I need to do is get into the Teamwin program which I think is the first thing I see saying LEFT button for normal boot (which it defaults to) and after 5 seconds it does or by selecting this RIGHT button as it says to LANCH RECOVERY BUT i can not get the right button to work ?
Do you know is this first screen I see with the 2 options part of Teamwin or is it a Amazon thing (fireOS) ?
Regards
Paul

OK, no, the bootmenu you have isn't a part of amazon or the stock OS.

You can try a factory reset in twrp (i.e. wipe data), in order to get a clean box, but you need an USB keyboard (or mouse?) for TWRP.
But it could be that your box is somewhat region locked to germany, this is possible via the box serial and other things (i.e. amazon may do this on the fly as soon as you connect to it's servers).

Wow!! thanks Sus_i but that is a lot to take in and that's not easy for me as I am illiterate I can understand some bits & bobs, is there something you can tell me in more of a simple step by step, am I right in says there 2 ways to get to the recovery stage 1) using the internet with a ethernet cable (RJ45) which i have in the back of the fire and connecting to my PC with Windows 11 (as thats all I have or my laptop) OR 2) using a USB stick (which I also have lots of sizes) and/or using the Mirco SD aswell on the back ( which I do have a ScanDisk 2Gb card), Sorry but I am not very good at all this BUT am very willing to be taught (step by step if pos) Which is the easy/best way ( by the way you mentioned using Linux but I only have a PC ) will it not work using a PC with windows then ?
OR MAYBE A YOUTUBE VIDEO which I can watch, as I say its hard for me to take in & read (illiterate) not good

The best is if you ask someone arround you for an USB keyboard...
or get a logitech k400 from amazon, it's easily to return if you don't like it

hay that's not a bad idea, amazon choice has one for £23.99 (RMP £34.99) but its not Bluetooth so I suppose it comes with a dongle so I can put it in the back of the fire is that right, are you also thinking the K400 cause it has the touch mouse too ? so I have 2 changes of getting it launch recovery ( sorry for all the question ) I will leave you alone eventually LOL
I just hope the USB port is working on the Fire as my rubber roll up keyboard didn't work on it

I've got two K400 myself and they work fine with any fireTV and in TWRP (the fireTVsticks need an OTG cable too).

Hi there
I would wipe Data, int.SD, Cache and Dalvik (under the wipe, advanced wipe tab).
You can take a backup infront of this if you like...

If format data doesn't help you to boot, I would suggest to unlock your box, as a first (unbrick) step.
Grab the latest amonet zip file from this threads OP (it's best if you also read the OP carefully):
[UNLOCK][ROOT][TWRP][UNBRICK] FireTV 2 (sloane)
Read this whole guide before starting. This is for the 2nd gen Fire TV (sloane) Current relase: amonet-sloane-v1.1 NOTE: This process does not require you to open your device if you're already rooted or you have TWRP. NOTE: If something goes...
forum.xda-developers.com
This is a quick TL/DR: Copy the amonet.zip on a SD Card, put the card into the fireTV and then boot into TWRP. Select flash, select the ext.SDcard, then flash the amonet zip file. Take a look what happens. The box should reboot into a new TWRP. Now it's time to 'format' data again. Then eject the extSD, download this file, put it onto your SD Card:

Flash this file also, wipe cache and dalvik too.
Now the old TWRP and the bootmenu shouldn't be there anymore. Instead of the menu you can now boot into TWRP with adb reboot recovery.
Btw, if your fireOS is 5.2.7.3 or newer, you need an usb a-a cable for the unbrick solution...

You could try to change the filesystem of cache (if it's ext4 -> change it to ext3) and format it, then change the filesystem back to orig. and format it too. Maybe that will solve your issue with cache and let your box boot.

Installation zip-file e-0.19-n-20211023142427-dev-i9305 android to Samsung Galaxy S3 gt I305

Hello
I cannot install new android system to my phone Samsung Galaxy S3 gt I305. Can someone advise what to do?
What I have done is following.
1. Installed TWRP version 3.7.0_9-0, After entering the TWRP I follow the procedure of istallation.
2. Wipe and Swipe to Factory Reset.
3. Advance Wipe: Dalvik/Cache/System/Vendor and swiped to wipe.
4. Went to Install: Selected storage: Internal Storage.
5. Choosing the file e-0.19-n-20211023142427-dev-i9305 and Swipe to confirm Flash.
Now the phone seems to installaing the zip-file e-0.19-n-20211023142427-dev-i9305.
6, Reboot System.
7. After the system reboots it looks like the android is installing on the Samsung phone. However a letter e with a jumping dot below it is displayed and this goes for hours without any success of installation. I have waited 8 hours and nothing happens.
Is there something that I have missed to do?
Attached picture of the last step that I have reached in the installation process.
Please help.
Best regards

Hi!
Standard troubleshooting answers are:
1. You did not unlocked your phone's bootloader, enabled USB debuggind, USB debugging(security) and enabled OEM(bootloader) unlock in the phone's settings.
2. You did not flash vbmeta from your current ROM, to disable verity.
3. You did not flash a good bootloader before flashing.
4. Your SD card is corrupted.
5. You did not fix the File System from the recovery
6. You didn't allow modifications and left the recovery in read only mode.
7. The ROM is unsuitable for your phone. Sometimes this happens even if you were told it is for your ROM and it was written on some forum.
Hi
Following question, is it possible to troubleshoot these steps if there is not any android anymore installed and no backup file created?
Meaning that the phone only has access to the TWRP settings and all other phone data is deleted.
If all other data is deleted, please re-install an original ROM, This can normally be done from the manufacturers software, like a PC suite.
Before reinstalling the original ROM, please try flashing the bootloader with ADB and fastboot.
Downloaded it reinstalled and installed android 13 and it is working!
Thank You!
