Why did Samsung remove the stairs climbed widget? I used to get a notification and was also able to set a goal on how many stairs to climb. This kind of motivated me to walk up the stairs at work versus using the elevator. I have the latest update for the Galaxy Watch Active 2.
It was useless on the Galaxy Watch. According to it I practically climbed a mountain every day.

I bought 2 of them but I'm going to be returning them. The microphone on the bottom is very uncomfortable when resting your arm on a table or desk. It also scratches terribly easily and quickly. The metal on the top of the watch also easily marks. The app to customize watch faces stops working or at least did for me after a couple days and I have read reports of it doing the same for other people. I had to move my gmail email to the Samsung email app and stop using the Gmail app because the watch does not correctly notify with any detail for the Gmail app. It also does not currently provide any detailed reporting for Facebook or Twitter or many other apps including hangouts. I had several instances of the speaker being very distorted during normal use especially when using s voice. I don't know what they were thinking by putting the speaker on the backside of the watch but I guess I should not be surprised given that is where they usually put the speaker on phones as well. Samsung does not seem to grasp what a speaker is 4. My wife had a lot of trouble with her gear recognizing her spoken commands.
When I actually used the feature I had decent results making and receiving phone calls via the watch. It also is very convenient for alerts about texts and email that comes into the Samsung email app. But not very useful for alerts for other apps. I got decent battery life in that using today as an example using the watch from 6 a.m. Until 10 a.m. The battery was at 70 percent when I took it off. I guess it depends on what you are looking for in the watch. Personally I have come to the decision that I need a watch that is more comfortable with a replaceable band and which is able to be used on more than just Samsung phones. I don't want my watch to be a factor when I pick what phone I want to use.
I was planning on buying 2 of them, but with the poor reviews regarding the lack of notification functionality and interoperability with my wife's S4, I've decided to wait and see.
I'd consider the Neptune Pine http://www.neptunepine.com or the Omate TrueSmart http://www.omate.com if either would function properly in a companion role with my Note 3 as well as their capability as an independent Android phone. I really don't want to have to swap SIMs or decide which phone is ringing- I need it to be seamless. Then I can leave my phone during strenuous or wet activities without missing calls, notifications or music.
Gear has a slightly better screen than either, but makes absolutely no use of it.

true.. i wish they replace the sensor with a bigger battery.. or a compass at least
even if it work.. i still dont know.. why we should know our hear beat?! to make it useful it should work as heartbeat loop!
I don't think it's accurate and yes, I can easily live without it.
I find it handy when going for a run. I wish it would send the data to google fit or keep the heart rate data in-conjunction with weather, incline, steps etc...
I have dobbel checked my heart rate, and HW Censor works fine ! For me all ok .
Yes. Heart rate monitor is retarded. I guess if you use it for working out but if your serious you would have a more accurate dedicated unit.
The pedometer is also stupid to have on your wrist. I can be at me desk all day working and it says made like 6,000 steps. A pedometer should be at your waste.
Useless stuff like that are just gimmicks. Watches are for assisting with notifications.
From doing comparisions with a proper heart rate monitor the one on the W1 does seem quite accurate to be fair. None the less I don't really see the pint in having one on such a high end smartwatch, I can't imagine I'll ever wear this thing whilst working out.
I find the heart rate sensor to be useless if the band is not tight enough. Other than that, it stops working if too much sweat builds up.
Yes, this is useless for me at least. If it does not monitor during workout it can not alarm you on reaching your limit.
Not quite related but does anyone know why there is such a big discrepancy in step counts between Huawei fitness tracking and Google fit? Google gives me about 1000 steps more then Huawei.

Step counter is stupid on a wrist. I work at my desk and it says I walked 5000+ steps. Bahaha yea right.
The heart rate monitor is also a gimmick. I honestly never used it. I guess some people would.
I was hoping to ditch my fitness tracker and have the Huawei watch be my single wearable, but the heart rate monitor is not up to the task. It does give a pretty accurate reading for me, but only at rest. I've tried exercising with it a few times and the monitor just stops recording after a few minutes. Sigh. I've gone back to using the Garmin Vivosmart HR for workouts.
As for step counting, the problem is exacerbated by being left handed. Doing things like brushing teeth, eating, etc. will add bogus numbers to my step counts. Since most, if not all, watches are designed to be worn on the left wrist this is a problem for us lefties. I started wearing the Garmin on my right wrist and find the false step padding to be less of an issue.
Bottom line is I'm still pleased that I got the watch, it's just not as useful as I was hoping for. Looking forward to the Marshmallow update...

I use it for my sleep tracking, Sleep like android is great for this and does full all night tracking. I can have my watch on me all day, and tracking at night (double click to turn screen off so the battery lasts) and it charges in the AM while I get ready for work. My only issue is being on all night sometimes seems to start to burn my skin. I have to take it off my left, and put it on my right at night so my left can "heal".
i have used hearth rate only a few times in 1 month but now it don't works anymore ( like wrist gestures). I Will wait 1.4 firmware before sending it back to amazon. factory reset was useless

Sorry for off topic, but what is your thougths after tracking your sleep, did it change your quality of life or you are more aware of something than without this feature? what is adres value of this, do you sleep better, deeper, longer?
I use sleep monitors for already a few years (started with sleep as an droid, then miband, now hwatch). And yes: it improves hugely how i wake up. It awakes me earlier than alarm, but i feel less tired when I wake up, compared to without monitoring...
But it depends on how your personal sleep-habits are. If you almost always sleep well and feel good in the morning, you'll likely not have the benefit of the feature.
As for the skin: regularly clean your watch on the skin side with isopropyl alcohol.

I am on my second galaxy watch (new), first one Samsung bought back from me due to eSIM issues, second one was "New Open Box" . They were bought to replace my Gear S3. I have had one helluva time with step count accuracy on the GW. I put back on my GS3 today and now the steps are more in-line with what my Apple Watch is reading as well as my Wear OS watches when worn simultaneously. I would wear the GW for hours before the Apple watch (used for my work) and put on the Apple watch and it the end of the day the GW average 1500-2000 step BEHIND the apple watch. Anyone else with this observation(s).
I don't wear multiple watches but was visiting family in another town and had my phone in the pocket most of the times. Both report into s health. 1k - 2k steps is my difference as well. Not accounting the time the phone lies in the table.

Idk. I've recently noticed that if I fully charge and leave it on the charger for a fews minutes, it becomes super accurate. Once it gets down to < 70%, then it goes haywire. Yes, the other two could be overestimating, but they are more in line with what I'm actually measuring.
Mine seems pretty much the same. A walk around my work parking lot is about 2200 steps which was measured by my S8+ prior to getting the GW. The GW seems to be tracking a similar figure.

I have been attracted towards smartwatches since the time they came. However, there are many reasons that I didn't buy any till today, money, technology and android user.
Although, now I am in the position of buying and I am aiming to buy a Samsung Galaxy watch. I have watched many reviews of that watch on youtube from big streamers to small. Also read many threads on the forum about it and it seems that there were issues with the initial firmware but after updates they were solved.
I am looking to buy the BT 46mm version.
Since this is my first SW and it costs a kidney (also I am a student), I had some concerns with it.
1. Does the battery stays for at least 3days (AOD off, BT and WiFi on)?
2. Can I install third party apps on it (getting apks from google wear store and installing on the phone)?
3. Connection with non-Samsung phones (I have OnePlus 5).

This watch is not powered by Android Wear so I highly doubt that you will be able to get apk to install and run. I don't even know if there is a way to sideload apk onto the phone. Getting the watch to pair to your OnePlus should not be a problem. I am still thinking of buying this watch but the lack of available apps is definitely a turn off for me too. I am coming from a Moto 360.

Yes. Even more if you do not start training apps. They drain battery like hell

No. Watch is on Tizen system

This should not be a problem. The original watch mail app will not work for you - it works only with Samsung phones. You can act with mail notifications though.
Take in mind that as I heard Oneplus has some problems with BT connection - but I am not shure about that

I have been a watch collector of high end mechanical watches all my life, and I was always laughing at people with black screen watches on their wrists, until my best friend bought one and started to explain me what he can do with the watch. I bought my Samsung Galaxy watch 4 LTE about 2 weeks ago and I think I only removed it from my wrist to charge it. It is unbelievable how much I became addicted to the practicality of the watch. I am looking at the screen hundreds of times a day, using navigation, reading texts, emails, setting timers, using fitness apps etc. I consider myself a power user, and lowest battery I reached was 26% by the end of the work day. ( watch is on my wrist usually from 8 am to 9 pm ) On weekends, with lighter use I get around 65% by the end of the day. So I still have to charge it every night, but that does not bother me. Included Samsung wireless charger charges them very quickly, I can't tell exactly, but it is fast ( maybe under 1.5 hr? ) My brightness is always set to full 10. ( there is levels from 1 to 10 ) It is true, fitness apps take most of the battery power, and Navigation is power drain, because I keep the screen ON all the time for directions (you can keep it black while driving and it can be turned ON only before the turns )
I would also love to have more apps available, especially apps from Nest and Ring, because I am checking that frequently. The phone my watch is paired to is Note 9. I do recommend, if you can afford it, to buy the LTE version.
dont get one if you are planning to use the HR monitor, it is still useless after 2 updates.
GT 2 Pro - its crazy to me that it only shows calories burned from workouts. Every other wearable I've had from multiple brands shows you a rough number on what you've burned over a 24 hour period, including at rest/sleep. Right now the watch shows I've walked over 14,000 steps, yet burned 298 cals. Deal breaker for me unfortunately unless someone knows a way of changing this ?
Big new update and this still isn't even an option, let alone standard. Apple, Fitbit, Samsung , Garmin etc all do it.
