Lg g7 thinQ crossflashed phones OS upgrade - LG G7 ThinQ Questions & Answers

I have bought a refurbished LG G7 "unlocked" phones that began life as a Sprint phone and (presumably) the ebay seller crossflashed it with unlocked firmware. It shows no serial number, won't get OTA updates. Its a PM varient Phn flashed to ULM varient with Android version 8
I want to upgrade its android version and install custom recovery for custom rom. Can it possible to upgrade my Android version or install custom recovery manually?

USA H815, Help please

Hi! I bought a H815 version, foe a steal btw, "130$" Thinking that I could unlock the bootloader, but then doing more research only finding that the only way doing so is if I have a EU version.
So anyone know anyway I could trade or buy a EU or UK version for cheap so I could trade or it doesn't anyone know the status of the USA H815 bootloader status?
Also wtff why isn't the H815 version upgraded to marshmallow? This stock ROM is majorly broken .
tmobile one can be bootloader unlocked. h811.
I just did the same thing, got a h815 USA with locked bootloader.
Using LGUP I was able to flash version 20d MM and it is working fine.
You could try https://www.reddit.com/r/phoneswap/
I've got 20j MM running on my USA H815.
I updated with the .kdz file from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/kdz-firmware-v20j-united-kingdom-2016-t3518925
I used the installers and software from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/lgup-install-kdz-mm-lp-t3249803
Note that in the LGUP application, you need to click Update to select a .kdz file. You then need to exit and restart the program, then click refurbish to do a clean flash.

Updating from Lollipop to MM on a imported ZenFone 2

Hi all - I've recently brought an Asus ZenFone 2 and want to upgrade it to MM so that I can use the root, unlock bootloader and install a custom rom on it using the tools in the development page.
However I am wary of updating the phone as the sellers website had this message:
Most of phones are supposed to sell in China (China version), such as ZTE, Letv, Asus, Oneplus.
1. About sealed original packing and firmware, We need to open the original box to check the phone and install the Multi-language and Google Play Store, Multi-language ROM not support OTA
2. Buyer can not restore to factory or root with other version firmware, which may cause date loss or dead of phone.
The firmware version is WW and recovery is also WW. When entering fastboot mode, the bootloader version is unknown and signing and secure_boot have a ? next to them. I am worried that upgrading it may brick the phone.
Is there a way I can update to MM? I may be worrying irrationally.
Thanks
IFWI version in bootloader is ?
Build number in settings about phone is ?

eBay G7's - GSM unlocked, Sprint unlocked, unlocked - questions

I have purchased 3 G7's over past couple weeks, from the same seller (starts with "w", has a ton of phones). All of them were listed as G710ULM. Here is what I got:
1. One that was "grade B unlocked" came as model number LM-G710ULM, but with empty S/N. Android 8.0.
2. Second one was "grade A Sprint unlocked" came as model number LG-G710PM, has actual S/N, Android 9.0
3. Third one is same as #2.
I am assuming that #1 phone is also a PM model that wasn't unlocked properly.
With that being said, I wanted to make sure what my options are.
1. Can I properly unlock all 3 phones, so I can run updates on them? I plan to keep just 2 for now and #2 and #3 are in a bit better shape than #1.
2. I see a bunch of "GSM unlocked" ULM models that description mentions will not work for Sprint or Verizon. Is that really the case?
3. What other models are unlockable to be used on Sprint?
Thanks for help on this.
Anyone? I would appreciate some answers.
I got one as well, LG-G710ULM. Can not update via OTA (hence stuck on Android 8.0) since I am in the UK and according to LG UK support the IMEI corresponds to US carrier SP (Sprint they reckon). Kind of a bummer that you can not update your cell. Anyway, am also looking to update it, without jailbreaking it if possible.
Bump up this thread!
Its obvious those devices were just crossflashed with ulm software to gain unlock. That said, your best solution to getting an updated software will be to flash latest ulm firmware using lgup

OK, if you could clarify what G7 models can be flashed with ULM firmware, it would be great.
I am pretty sure I will return the "fake" ULM model and possibly keep the PM model - that's compatible with ULM firmware, correct?
What about ULM "GSM unlocked" models that per description don't work with Sprint?
Are there any other models that can be flashed with ULM too?

G710ULM can't make or receive calls

Greetings,
I bought an unlocked G7 ThinQ from eBay in 2019, Hong Kong seller and it arrived with Android 8.0 which did not upgrade OTA. Interestingly the IMEI indicates the model is G710PM (Sprint US), however the box indicates the model is G710ULM (see pic). The About Phone indicates model is G710ULM!
Over time I flashed to stock Android 9 ULM and Android 10 EM ROMs using LGUP 1.15 command line. Around Oct last year, the phone seems to have lost network: USSD or call functions don't work. I have flashed it thrice from Android 8-10 stock ROMs the problem persists. Despite having updated Google for each ROM (LG CA mentioned some versions of Google was interfering with call logic, read here).
Questions:
1. What stock ROM should I install to fix this?
2. Are there any other commands I need to run using LGUP 1.15 to fix the phone before flashing the right ROM?
3. Is there anything I need to ascertain or reset before to see if some setting is off?
4. Will flashing with the right ROM show the serial no?
The ROM the phone is running atm is G710AWM30e_00_OPEN_CA_OP_0902.kdz
Well am not that well versed with the technical lingo. Thanks.
