Black screen after LCD replacement - Xiaomi Redmi 7 Questions & Answers

Hello, today I replaced a broken lcd in my Redmi 7, my problem is that before replacement, I could see something on the broken screen (red, green and blue lines), and now after I replaced it the new screen shows nothing, even the backlight doesn't work. The phone boots normally, and even the digitizer works, but the screen is black. Oh, and also now the old screen doesn't show anything. What could be the matter of it? Please, any help would be appreciated.

[Q] Black screen after lcd replacement

Hi,
I have a HTC Desire Z, one day I pulled it out of my pocket and the screen was black with white lines. After reading that it was most likely a faulty LCD, I purchased a replacement from ebay. I installed it following the instructions in this video
watch?v=C0LJnqTlBVQ
After installing it the screen remains black. I can hear the start up music playing but the screen is black, no white lines like before. I even tried reinstalling the original lcd and the same thing, no white lines. Also after starting the phone up the front seems very warm.
Could my replacement lcd also be faulty or does the problem lie elsewhere?
Thanks in Advance
Ok, I took it apart again just to double check the lcd ribbon. It was on good, however I took it off and put it on again and now the screen works!
However the brightness is set to the lowest and even if I change it to the high setting it remains the same. Also the automatic change doesn't work either. Any Ideas?

screen replacement

I replaced the screen because the original one cracked and leaked. after i successfully installed the new screen, i noticed that it has a yellow tint. the lock screen i'm using is white, but the new screen shows it in a tint of yellow. is the screen bad? besides the color in-perfection, it works just fine. thx

Glass replacement, screen no longer working

Hi guys, cracked my note 2 glass last week and decided to replace JUST the glass myself. This included me warming up the screen with a hair dryer and replacing the glass. All went well, was VERY careful only to find out when I turn the phone on the screen is either blank OR white, and you can faintly see the boot logo. This alternates randomly when im prodding the motherboard. Does this mean there is a dodgy connection? Can I fix this, or have I completely melted the amoled when heating?
Forgot to add: Phone turns on fine, boot sound is there, capacative buttons light up. Even touch screen works (I can answer phone calls)
Thanks guys

[Q] Glass is fine, black screen, notifications lights still work

Hey guys,
I have an S3 that was dropped and now the screen remains black but the notification light still turns on and it still rings/vibrates when it gets a call or message. I was told it was a digitizer issue and hence ordered a replacement but now I'm reading that it may be the LCD? The glass portion is completely fine, not a crack or any sign of breakage to be found it's just that the screen remains black.

If the glass on the outside of it is undamaged, then it likely is just the digitizer. Try putting on the replacement digitizer and see where that gets you.

[Q] on and off screen discoloration

Hi guys, I recently replaced the glass on my note 2 and the repair was successful. Everything on the phone is fully functional.
However, I notice that the phone sometimes switches to a strange discolored mode and then back to normal.
When the display is discolored, it looks like what is happening in this video:

So does anyone know what the issue is? Have I damaged the ribbon cable somehow?
The LCD and digitizer seem to be unscathed. When the screen is not in "discoloration mode" the colors are crisp and clear.
Something really strange I've noticed is that sometimes the screen only discolors when I pull down the status bar. It will only be discolored for the status menu. The rest of the screen will remain fine. This does not happen all the time. Sometimes the entire screen has no discoloration at all.
I'm not sure what I've done but, any feedback is appreciated, thanks!
