@Kry9toN
After installing Island backups only fail as you can read on
https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/chhcm6/psa_twrp_backup_does_not_like_android_for_work/
https://github.com/TeamWin/Team-Win-Recovery-Project/issues/1256
Island is similar to Shelter and is used to isolate certain proprietary Apps. I won't delete it. I could send you my PBRP log, if you want to work on the problem. How about it?

My miss take for choose form
Hi,
i tried to install this version but failed. Please see my steps belwo:
1) installing recovery.img via "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" worked fine
2) installing the PitchBlack-joyeuse-2.9.1-20200722-1350-UNOFFICIAL.zip file via twrp returned "ERROR 1"
3) after rebooting into system and then back to PBRP, PBRP was gone and defualt recovery came up
Is there anything i miss?
Try to unmount some partitions and then install/sideload the zip. Try both install (from internal memory) and adb sideload. I also wasn't able to install many zip files through Recovery. Either the custom recoverys aren't ready yet or the zip files aren't made for Android 10 AOSP.
Tried adb sideload as well but it doesnt start on device side. Its just loading or startign endless.
I wantred also to get hands on the logs but once i install magisk, its getting into bootloop. Also the filemanager cannot be installed from PBRP.
Maybe its jjust to early.
Flashing Magisk from recovery will get u to bootloop. Extract ur roms boot.img from rom zip and patch it with Magisk Manager app then flash it with adb in fastboot mode
Hi,
I unlocked the bootloader of my RN9 Pro, rooted by patching the .img file with Magisk, now I would like to install a custom recovery. Does installing PBR format data like Czech TWRP found in neighboring forum? And how to install it with the official Recovery, the latter is not familiar to me, I come from a Mimax2.
Thank you

2x super with the same size.
A bug?
You can't use adb sideload it glitches and gapps aroma doesn't work
Please help me
I unlocked bootloader, then flash pitch black recovery but once I booted to recovery, I flash miui rom and then my internal data got encrypted. It's not encrypted anymore but I can't flash any custom rom using this recovery.
When I access fastboot mode, adb devices doesn't show any device. I previously flashed twrp for curtana.
I'm still able to access pbr but everytime I try to flash rom, here's the error message:
Updater process ended with ERROR: 7
An Assert failed. Please check the output above for more details.
Error installing zip file 'file-location-info-bla-bla-bla'
Updating partition details...
Failed to mount '/product' (No such file or directory
...done
Please help me solve this
Edit:
I solved it by flashing through fastboot
Guys i want to try it. I will flash it via fastboot. I dont want to lose my data. Am ı need to flash rom after installing pbrp?
Hmm, looks like this does not support dynamic partitions.
I run into an assertion error trying to install the xiaomi.eu 11.0.5 ROM.

Thank you for your response, meanwhile I managed to solve the problem by myself doing the following steps (critical unlocked bootloader provided):
1.) Download Original OST with Patch (https://www.dropbox.com/s/x3kljb6rw58gjqj/OST628-unlock-bypass.zip?dl=0)
2.) Download Original Stock Firmware (https://www.dropbox.com/s/ww25xcjorogc68v/NB1-488B-0-00WW-B04_unpacked.7z?dl=0)
3.) Put the Nokia 8 in Download Mode (Shutdown device, if not possible let it run out of battery. Press Volume down and connect the USB cable)
4.) Flash Stock Firmware (with delete Userdata option)
5.) Put Nokia 8 in Download Mode Again
6.) Flash Tvirus via NOST (with delete Userdata option)
In addition to that I had the personal problem described above on my Asus Zenbook with only native USB-C ports. After changing the device to a computer with native USB 2.0 ports and using them for flashing it worked finally. I think this is a very special behavior, so I don't think this appears also on other systems, but in case I would recommend this as solution.
Now you should be able to install Orange Fox, Havoc, Magisk (with Safenet Module and the new hide module Shamiko-v0.4.2-97-release) all banking, health insurance, Gpay Apps are happy (except for Vodafone but the 11.0.0.0 Version does the trick here)
I'm f**cking happy right now to use this great devices as daily driver for more years, thank you to all those great people who make this possible

Nope, that's a one time process after flashing stock unless you reflash super.

You mean after flashing twrp and rebooting system it gets replaced by stock recovery?
If yes, then you need to delete recovery-from-boot.p file from /system (/system_root/system/ in twrp) before rebooting.
Multidisabler does that itself but well if you don't want to use that you can delete the above mentioned file.

Thank you for your answer my friend.
Note: TWRP 3.6.1 build does indeed boot on the latest Android S / Oneui4.1 firmware. I didn't get the time to check every single thing but it does boot and basic functions like flashing wiping etc work without issues.
@Yillié on the twrp screen we click on terminal and after type rt multidisabler not execute? There is no need to install multidisabler ourselves?

You don't need to flash the multidisabler zip if you typed multidisabler --all as that's basically the same as flashing the zip.
I don't understand what you mean to refer to by:
"rt multidisabler not execute".

Works perfectly fine for me. Really nice job
This recovery is really nice, clearly a lot of work went into it! I haven't tested the full backup, but if it's really possible now, it changes everything for Android 12.

Does this mean restoring data is working in this release?
Booted it up and making a full backup now. The gui looks very very slick and elegant. Real nice job!

It works perfectly fine here.
ok gonna try a restore, got another bootloop after updating lineageos, the second time.
Last time had to do a fresh install.
Do I need to do something with the slots?
I did a backup, updated lineageos, injected magisk after ota (slot change) and then it rebooted to the other slot with a bootloop.
Update:
Got it working again. Restored super and boot, and then changed slots (same slot at the time of backup). Only difference I could notice was that all my magisk modules were disabled. Did not restore data because it seems to be intact.
Different ROMs on this device do random and different things. Some change the slot after installation/update, and some don't. Some use the standard update_engine functionality, and some don't. None of any of this has anything to do with the recovery's own functionality. You always need to follow to the letter the instructions of the ROM's maintainer, and to hope that they know what they are doing/saying. Otherwise, it's all left to trial and error (with all that this entails).
I always follow the instructions down to the letter but that was no guarantee for success this time. Do you still have to remove pin/pattern/fingerprints before backing up / restoring data with this latest release?

You should remove them before backup, and you definitely must remove them before restoring data.
As for reliability of nandroid backups, many things can (and sometimes do) go wrong. Further information is available here.
With Android 12 and higher there is the additional scourge of potential fscrypt policy issues that can make the system unbootable after restoring a data backup. This can especially be a problem if you backed up a GAPP-less ROM on which you had installed one GAPPS package (eg, NikGAPPs) but when you reflashed the ROM, you installed a different GAPPs (eg, OpenGAPPs) before restoring the backup. Basically, this is a sure recipe for a bootloop.
The moral of the story is that nandroid data backups can be a hit-or-miss affair.
I am running Pixel OS now and wanted to move to an other rom. So i removed my PIN to none security. Than installed this orangefox version on recovery. (From Pixel OS recovery)
It keeps asking for pin to decrypt data. But there is no pin set. I cannot format data because it cant acces partition. Cant even wipe "data" or internal storage.
Thankfully system is still booting
Tried:
1. Add New pin in system but orangefox does not take it for decryption.
2. Tried SKKK TWRP but same issue
What am i doing wrong?
How can i format data and install another rom?
I'm on pixel experience. I have pin code. I backed up all partitions (except internal storage) successfully. Will it be restorable or it won't decrypt?
Thanks man, work perfectly fine for me

Well, I wouldn't recommend restoring "all partitions". You really should only restore the boot and and data partitions (and Super, if you backed that up). As long as you remove all lockscreen protections before rebooting to recovery to restore, there should be no problem with decryption. But you should run a test first.

I never had any issues with earlier versions of Pixel OS.
Yes, if all else fails, then "fastboot -w" is the way to go.
