Full screen apps option - Motorola One Action Questions & Answers

What is the point of this option under display settings. It does absolutely nothing for any app I turn it on for. From what I get out of what it's saying, it's supposed to allow the app to use the full real estate of the screen and force it, even with the hole punch, right? But toggling it on or off does nothing either way. Am I missing something?

Swipe to Wake?

I have re-purposed my Fire as a wall mounted home automation system control panel. My Galaxy Nexus had an app (PGM Nexus) that would basically leave the touch screen active when the screen was off, allowing you to swipe the screen to wake it up. This would be very useful for my application on the fire being it is mounted to the wall, and always plugged in.
Does anyone know of a way to do this on the fire? Currently I have it setup to never turn the screen off, but that cant be good for it in the long run.
The app "Screen Standby" allows the user to turn off the display but touch is still active. I believe a swipe in the notification area enables the screen to come back on. I currently have it on my Kindle and it does in fact work but I haven't used it very much.

That app does exactly what I need, I actually like how it works better than PGM Nexus because a simple touch wakes it up..no need swipe....but it is too unreliable. After half an hour or so it looks like it fails to keep the touch digitizer active and you have to use the button to turn the screen back on.

Is the device going into sleep mode when this happens? The app "CPU Spy" can verify the status of the CPU and shows if the tablet is going to sleep ....zzzzZZZZzzzz lol

I think it probably is, although I did enable the "wake lock" feature in the app. it also sometimes doesn't turn off the screen based on the timer in the app. I'll mess with it some more to see if I can get it to work better.
I'm going for the appliance feel, and high level of WAFs (Wife Acceptance Factor) so it needs to be highly reliable and stream lined

How Do I Keep My HTC 10's Screen On While Reading (Smart Screen/Stay....Whatever lol)

So other phones like the Sony Xperia and LG V-Series phones have a feature where the phone can detect your eyes and/or face while you are reading something on the screen while NOT touching it. This feature is MOST helpful when reading whatever is on the screen and NOT wanting it to shut off either.
For whatever crazy reason, the HTC 10 does NOT have this feature! And when I try to install 3rd party apps in order to make this an option, I always have some issue come up that doesn't let it work. Does ANYONE have a way around this that DOESN'T involve bootloader unlocking and/or rooting????????! It is so frustrating to me that HTC did not think to put this on a 2016 FLAGSHIP natively.
Thanks!
Why not just adjust the screen timeout settings? Not exactly what you're looking for but it'll do the job.

Well b/c I wanna save battery life. I'm not ALWAYS reading the screen, and I don't want it to stay on longer than needed. I just can't believe HTC didn't think of this. I LOVE this phone except for 1) This very issue and 2) The fact that when you enable ANY kind of security measure on the phone involving the lockscreen, Double Tap To Sleep ONLY works if you're ON the lockscreen (a lesser issue to me, but still). Both LG and and Sony have this same option, and NEITHER has any issue with it. You just double tap the screen to turn the screen off, and no problem. The apps I got that DID let the double tap to sleep work also disable the security settings, which isn't cool Just can't believe HTC didn't think of this.
They could fix BOTH issues with updates, but who knows if they will.

hi com,
This app is a step in the RIGHT direction, but it keeps the screen, on where I need something that scans for my eyes and/or face so I can read the screen comfortably and not feel rushed to touch the screen to keep it on.
I'll write to the developer though since he seems cool.
Thanks!!
Set it to 30 minutes or an hour (Which isn't possible on Samsung phones (10 min max so they have to waste unnecessary battery life with useless smart stay which is crap at night), and turn your screen off manually like everyone else.
Custom roms allow holding home button to sleep or various other options.
If you switch to viper ROM, there's a quick setting called "caffeine" it will keep your screen on until manually shut off or set period of time

I could do that, but I'd rather not. lol
I ended up finding an app called Wakey which when you get the full version, it keeps the screen on for any specific apps you choose until you either manually shut the screen off yourself or else leave/close out of those apps. So basically it's been resolved.

Screen Lock Key Pad Auto Show

Hi all,
I've got a really annoying feature on my screen lock where my keypad will auto-show and if I enter my PIN I'll be launched direct into the app at the time. I hate this feature and want to disable it, but I'm not sure which setting controls this. Did I say I absolutely hate this feature and it drives me nuts hence why I'm posting here.
Its not 100% clear what you mean.
Your lock screen activates and when you unlock it via pin you get put back into the app that was running before screen lock activated, when you'd prefer it to go back to the home screen?.
That is normal behaviour. There is no way to change it without causing an even bigger nuisance, which would be to kill all apps upon leaving them, which will make your phone run slow.
I could recommend an app by htc called "boost+" which can kill apps automatically if you apply the background optimizers to "always off" which will attempt to kill apps when you leave them. This is less intrusive than using developer settings to kill all apps. It may work, it may not.
Hi, thanks for replying.
Yeah sorry it is a little difficult to articulate this behavior.
So when I want to go back into my phone from the screen off / sleep state, I hit the power button to turn the screen on and wake the device up. When I do this the screen lock keypad opens and if I enter my pin I'll be taken into an application. Mind you this doesn't happen all the time. It generally happens when I've received a notification e.g. hangouts message, an sms, missed call notification, email and so on. I'm sure this behavior wasn't happening before. I can't remember if I changed a setting, or there's been an update to the lock screen from HTC. Either way I want to turn this feature off, I don't want the phone controlling me, I want to control the phone.

Question Screen too touchy/sensitive

It defaults to slide mode making it VERY hard to type also randomly activates hold mute etc when on a call at very slight movements or goes to home screen in middle of using apps. Have looked for gestures in settings are disabled it is still almost unusable unless I take extreme care when using it, shake settings not found. Hitbox for keys is huge also way bigger than all other phones I have used making it nearly impossible to cleanly type when I can't use voice features. It stays updated too so that's not the problem. Manufacture please reply.

Question Inside display camera hole somehow toggled on to visible

I somehow disabled the internal screen camera hole screen “overflow” - before the display would display over it, now I just see a sharp black cutout, nothing goes over.
Can't find anything in Settings to toggle it back on. Anyone know how to do it?
Did you disable any Samsung system apps?
Otherwise... Try clearing the system cache.
Try in safe mode to try to rule out a buggy 3rd party app as the cause.
If you have the Good Lock app installed and have multistar installed within Good Lock, go into the "I Galaxy Foldable" section and you'll see an option "UDC with black". Make sure it's set to off. That should get you back to the camera being hidden under the display. If it's set to on, then you will see the black hole camera cutout on the display.

Yes! Thank you very much indeed — I thought I remembered seeing it somewhere, didn't think of Multistar. :O)
