LG G8s Bootloop after rooting with Magisk - LG G8 Questions & Answers

Today I installed magisk with the help of this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g8/how-to/rooting-g8s-guide-t4044193 . It worked and I had root access. After some hours I restarted my phone and now it's in bootloop. It can't shutdown and it's restarting endlessly (pressing the power button for 20 seconds shut it down but it immediatly restart). I can only enter the hard reset menu (by holding volume down and power button, is there a combination for recovery mode with volume up?)
I know I need a way to enter fastboot mode to reflash the normal boot partition from the original kdz or the entire kdz but I can't. neither adb devices or fastboot devices finds the phone and the phone it's not in recognized by the PC so no COM port assigned. Tried to follow this https://www.mylgphones.com/lg-g8-th...nbrick-restore-lg-g8-thinq-back-to-stock.html
Update: I entered the fastboot mode. I plugged the usb-c cable while clicking the volume down button while the phone was off. Now I will try to flash the boot_a.image from the original kdz file
Flashing the original boot_a.image worked. I will now try to understand why this happened

How to enter fastboot with hardware buttons

My LG G4 is dead. Maybe CPU, maybe ram... don't know what, but suddenly it can't start anymore. It can display LG logo and then stop. I can enter in TWRP with sequence Power+Vol Down, but after a while in recovery, the phone freezes and reboots. So I can't try to reinstalla a rom or other things.
I tried to enter in download mode and restore kdz original rom with LGUpdate, but when it starts to transfer data, everything stops working.
So, my phone has warranty until October the 10th and I want to try it. But I need to relock bootloader. But to do it I need to enter in bootloader and then in fastboot. I can only do this with hardware buttons, but I can't do. I'm trying this way: press vol up and power button, then when LG logo appears, I relase power for a second and then press it again. But the phone starts the boot entering the LG boot animation and than dies.
So, wich is the right procedure to enter bootloader and fastboot?
AFAIK there are only 2 modes you can enter from Hardware button combinations:
Factory Reset/Recovery by Vol Down + Power until LG Logo then release and re-press Power.
Download Mode by Powering off the device and holding Vol UP while connecting a USB Cable .
Fastboot will only work if Allow OEM Unlock Setting is checked from Developer Options.
So even if there were a hardware option for this, without that setting enabled Fastboot Mode will just reset the device.
Your Device definitely sounds like it has the bootloop issue that LG should fix under warranty.
Many people suggest putting the device in the freezer, I personally dislike this issue due to the fact that electronics and moisture do not work well together.
I removed the back from my phone and the battery and heated the device with a hairdryer for around 5 minutes before replacing the battery and booting the device into recovery.
This allowed me to boot the device long enough to backup all of my files, flash a KDZ and re-lock the bootloader.
There is even a post for the bootloop issue which you likely have with all you need to know.

Just follow the step
Completely switch off your phone
Now hold volume up button for 15 sec
After 15 sec press the power button for .5sec
Now again press and hold the power button insert the cable after you enter to edl mod realese both power and volume button
If any problem occur try it again and again
Done...
Okay so this helped me in booting to EDL mode, but still i'm unable to flash using QFIL or MiFlash. What should I do now?
Ensure the following steps
1 You have a valid qpst flashable file.
2. The file was extracted in c drive within a folder having simple name.
3. Start qfil app after going to the EDL mode perform the operation as fast as you can.
if problem persists .
TRY AGAIN AND AGAIN FROM THE VERY BEGINNING
okay Will try.
Update:
Workedd....!!! Thanks a Tonn......

Samsung S20+ Magisk uninstall bootloop.

I followed this guide to get my S20+ rooted: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...root-s20-series-and-upgrade-firmware.4079353/
I wanted to return my phone to it's original state so I tried uninstalling Magisk through the app but am now stuck in a bootloop where I can't seem to enter recovery or download mode.
The screen pops up and shows the logo, followed by the bootloader unlocked warning, back to the logo, and then restarts this process.
I can't seem to turn it off either. Have to wait for it to be 0%, but once I connect it to a charger, it automatically turns on again.
Can anyone help me solve this problem?
Recovery mode: volume up button and plug it into PC via cable, press power
Download mode: both volume buttons and plug it into PC via cable, press power
both modes only work if you have a cable connected

Question Need help unbricking -> EDL not accessible for MSM

[SOLVED see post below]
Hi all,
Just bricked my Phone and can't access MSM. Hope you can help me. I will try to be very clear on the steps I took to get to this point.
Device: EU OnePlus 9 Pro
What is was trying to do: Go from rooted C.47 to Pixel Entended ROM
What I did:
Code:
Unrooted using Magisk uninstall option
Updated to c.48 through OTA
Go to lineageOS page on how to ensure all firmware partitions are consistent
very stupidly did not flash dtbo and vendor boot partition
did adb reboot fastboot in stead of abd reboot bootloader
Download the "lineage-19.1-20220701-recovery-lemonadep.img" and tried to temporaryly flash it by
fastboot flash boot <recovery_filename>.img
This resulted in the device getting stuck on the 1+ boot logo.
I can still force turn it off by holding Volume Up + Power.
When I try to access EDL by turned off and Vol UP + Vol Down + Plug and release, My PC makes a connection sound and the screen stay black for a while. After +- 10 seconds, the PC makes a disconnection sound and the phone boots up and gets stuck again on the 1+ bootup icon.
Also my phone won't stay turned off when plugged in the charger or pc
Yes, but what is it presenting as (i.e. EDL, fastboot, ADB, UMS...) when it connects?
If this is Windows, UsbLog.exe is handy to identify things popping up (as long as they have drivers installed).
For a list of devices that have ever tried to connect, try "enumusb.exe /l".
Both available here: https://www.temblast.com/windows.htm

I will try this
I found the issue:
> EDL exits after 10 seconds if it is not captured by the MSM tool.
> The MSM tool only monitored 4 of my 10 USB ports
> So it was not captured because I was plugged in to an unmonitored USB port and rebooted after 10 seconds
> I have successfully used the MSM tool now
Oh! A bit off-topic, but I have never understood why EDL is commonly used over a "serial" port.
The interface that EDL presents is a generic USB bulk interface with two endpoints. You can use it just like that.
But no. They have to use a Qualcomm driver that makes it look like a "serial" port and then you can connect to that.
Me? I use a generic "WinUSB" Zadig driver. I have an EDL client that just connects to that fine.
So does the Python client implementation.
Also, I've never run into that 10 second timeout.

Your phone needs to be in OFF state mode when you're using EDL.
So, very simple:
Enter bootloader mode by holding both volume buttons with the power button together till your phone restarts and enters the bootloader.
From the bootloader screen you can use the volume buttons to navigate through the choices and you can select "Switch off".
When you complete this, you need to hold both volume buttons, and while holding them connect the cable (PC).
If you don't have or you don't have the correct Qualcomm EDL drivers installed, your phone will reboot or start to boot, it won't stay in EDL mode for longer than 10 seconds.
I also got the correct drivers for you, but you need to install the drivers manually while your device is in "EDL" mode, so, you need to be a bit "fast".
I have even a video for you, but need to upload it to YouTube so you can watch it.
I'll share you here the drivers just in case if you're familiar with a manual installation of the drivers.

Thanks for the help. The problem ended up to be a bit different than this for me, but this is a good post for anyone to find in the future!

Bricked lg g820UM

I've bricked my g8 a long time ago.
If i recall correctly, custom rom caused it to bootloop.
And i accidentally wipe all of the partitions.
Could anyone share a copy from their phone?
Also it doesn't react to pc anymore, drivers doesn't help too.
Well...com6 appears for a few sec when booting, but quickly disappears.
I am not sure if i forgot how to enter edl mode.
But if not that's not working as well.
neither is download mode.
Any ideas?
Sorry, no backup to share, but a couple of suggestions...
1. Recovery from a brick, including a scenario with totally wiped out partitions - this should guide you step by step through the process:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/tutorial-rescue-from-hard-brick.4351389/
2. EDL mode (saved if from one of the guides a while ago, both options worked for me):
Hold Vol- and Power together, when the phone screen turns off to restart begin quickly pressing the Vol+ but keep holding Vol- and Power.
Here is a youtube video of how to boot to EDL:
Alternatively, with phone off, plug in usb cable and wait for the charging symbol to start flashing, then hold Power and Vol- together and start tapping Vol+. Sometimes it's easier that way.
