How do I upgrade G986U1 to One UI 3 beta? - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

Hi, I'm having trouble sifting through the forum for clear information regarding sideloading One UI 3 beta for my S20+. I have several questions that I haven't found concise answers for and would appreciate some help. Please direct me to the correct threads if I missed something obvious.
Current setup is SM-G986U1 Snapdragon on BTIG firmware.
I want to sideload One UI 3 beta using Odin because the beta registration is always either missing or at max capacity. I know there was an update yesterday, so the latest version may not be available online yet.
Questions:
1. Generally, are full beta images available, or only incremental OTA updates?
2. Can the update be sideloaded without unlocking the bootloader? If it can, does data need to be wiped?
3. Once on the beta, will I receive OTA updates, or will I have to sideload future ones?
4. Has anybody uploaded a beta update zip for my model/fw combo yet? I haven't seen it in the Snapdragon thread, but I may have missed it.
Thanks in advance! And apologies if these questions are commonly asked. I found it difficult to search through the forum.

Search the other threads for it. It is all well explained. In a nutshell, you will have to flash BTIF, and then sideload the beta versions one after another. There isn't an 'image' to flash.

Thanks. So there's no way to do it without wiping. Maybe they'll open it up again soon...

look in the beta thread....

[Q] is it worth upgrading firmware?

Is it worth upgrading firmware to the last rootable one?
I have the one that ends in "1" something like 5.1.0.1 I think.
are there any stability improvements in the last ROOT-ABLE firmware?
I saw the guide on AFTVNEWS to upgrade it doesn't seem to hard I should be able to do it.
Thanks!

i did upgraded to pre-rooted firmware 511.1.4.0 and i believe it fixes bugs and probably, the most important thing they add is under developer options you can now select apps from unknown source, with this enable you can simply download any apk from web site using a web browser(chrome, firefox, ect), you no longer have to side load the app.
here is the link which outline some of major fixes and changes with each updates, for more detail info you probably will have to dig on amazon site.

I am already rooted so I would just have to upgrade it using the guide they made.
So I guess I will do it when I have more time. Thanks for the tip.

Looking for OTA update links TA-1050

Hello,
got here a new TA-1050, and been reading about updates. Was quite glad to find the list at HMD Nokia,
/phones/en_int/security-updates , then less thrilled to learn Pie is not a smooth sailing yet.
The device is on 00WW_2_13B, and offers OTA update to 00WW_3_260. If these are the only choices, I'm staying with 2_13B,
but would preffer the latest Oreo 00WW_2_22E_SP03 instead, or at least the patches with 00WW_2_13B_SP05.
If I understand correctly, all these updates should be still available via ota-api links, all official and signed, installable via copying to SD card and update command / dial.
But the only link I found is for the Pie update - the /packages/ota-api/nokia_pl2sprout_plate200ww/1879f071d6ca7ca72fb1a750f045c3cdf00ff4dc.zip
Is there a way to get the links for 00WW_2_22E / 00WW_2_22E_SP03 / 00WW_2_13B_SP05 ?
As in, does someone have them and would be willing to share?
Thanks in advance.
Pie is as stable as it can be. Whoever says something else is just a crybaby. :/

Exactly. The Pie update is a big improvement. Highly recommended.

Guide on AOSP ROMs, troubleshooting & recommendations

XDA doesn't allow Telegram and a few other site links so I'm taking down the thread as I don't want to post an incomplete guide.
You may find the full guide here: https://bit.ly/3rGKKtQ , this will be the only place I maintain bugs and guides.

Thanks to Haris. New wifi fix for Android Q is available for some North American V30 variants: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/how-to/q-wifi-fix-north-american-variants-t4012635
On Pie LOS ROMs, U.S. Verizon carrier users have to make a phone call after any reboots to receive texts.
May also be on LOS-17 based Android 10 ROMs. Not sure.

I would request others to post bugs too as I can test bugs only for h930 variants and not others. Also there may some features that I don't use so I may not notice even if there's a bug with them
PS: Added a bug that screencast doesn't work.
Added general tip with solution for bug 14 in Q bugs section.

FIX for the quad dac/avc reset bug when listening to music in AOSP
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.phascinate.lgv10.dacfix
You still need to toogle off and then on the first time, but when you pause music it should not reset itself anymore. Tested for a couple of days now and works well.
@tech_infinity can you add this to the main post? At least until a proper fix is available
Hey,
Would you mind telling what version that is? Your link seems to be dead so I'll go grab the latest from gcam port site
Thanks!
The link is working for me, anyway its
MGC_6.1.021_V2e-fu24_Aux3way_4Lens-04h-dual.apk
Search it on Google should find it, be advised picture quality is not the greatest, and I haven't been able to import any config files. Its the only one where everything works though.

Remove gmaps completely
Install apk from here: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/maps/maps-10-9-2-release/
I can't install this one too...
What error do you get? Screenshot?
Also: you have to uninstall any other version of maps before installing it again, otherwise it fails to install
Yes i uninstalled the other version of the app with Uninstall System App...
Try installing maps using this app, if it fails again post the error info you get
You can also try installing as root (see in settings of the app)
IT didn't work, see the screenshots

Looking for some help on how to root my OnePlus 7T

Hi, so I recently got a pre-owned OnePlus 7T (Android version 12) and looking to root it. Not looking to do anythig mega fancy with it, basically spoof pokemon go.
I have never had a samsung before so I know none of the lingo (roms, roots, apks, flash etc). I've tried watching videos but a lot of people specifically mention 7T Pro or don't specifically mention Android version 12, which I'm guessing if it's like iOS then the version is important.
I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction on how to root the phone to do what I want to do with it. I've got as far as developer mode with it. I have a windows PC handy if that helps too?
Thanks
Is it so hard to search?

Extract boot from here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/oneplus-7t-rom-ota-oxygen-os-repo-of-oxygen-os-builds.3997037/
This is XDA.
So members are expected to be proactive.
Hi, thanks for the response!
The first link says android 11, not 12, so like I had mentioned, I have no idea how it works with androids and whether the two are interchangeable.
The second link doesn't mention any android version and I can't see a mention of android 12 in the comments, thus I wouldn't have followed through with the guide as I can't clearly see it will work for OnePlus 7T Android 12.
So, having searched the site which I'm not used to, and having asked in discords and only being told to go ask here, I did what I was told and went and asked here. I apologise for how repetitive the question may be, but I'm just hoping some kind soul will have a little pitty and put me on the right path.
1.Guide is the same for Android 12
2.
E.g.
HD1903_11_F.17 (delivered to OOS 11 users): HD1903_11.F.17_3170_202210120443
MD5: c0efb9eacc32eac171fccd6cd306ecaa
is Android 12 for Europe
So all the last entries are A12.
Or download with Oxygen Updater App
Use this for extraction of the boot.img

Hi again,
I've taken what you said and reflashed the phone and upgraded to OOS 11.0.9.1 (latest available).
The links you sent are super useful now I know they work for any version, though following it broke my phone last night (my fault), likely during the patched_boot.img stage as the lingo started confusing me.
Does the below youtube offer an alternative method to root the phone? I've found the software build for 11.0.9.1 and hoping if that guide works then I'll follow that and ideally not need to bother you more
It's not an alternative, it's the same only as a video
However, better use the payload-gui.exe for extracting the payload bin.
Much easier.
Good luck

General [CLOSED] - Android 14 Beta

I haven't found any threads here for the android 14 beta (https://community.oneplus.com/thread/1311878789566824453)
Is anyone running it and how is it so far?
Also I would like to know if upgrading wipes the phone completly or not since it says it does.

I just tried to install the beta with the system update apk. It worked, however I also install magisk to inactive slot. After this, phone no more boot... Switching back to original boot slot fixed so I will wait a bit to see

Just confirming if upgrading wiped your data or if its just the downgrade package? I don't want to deal with re-setting everything up/restoring backups if it will wipe the data.
