I know that the user's manual that comes with the Motorola Razr 5g does not recommend the use of a screen protector. Be it as it may, I still think it is a good idea so long as you use the right kind.
First of all, I would not recommend using a liquid screen protector that uses 9h ceramic nano coating. This product ends up putting a thin film on the screen that once it dries, is supposed to be hard like glass.
Second, I would not recommend a plexy type of screen protector that flexes. It simply cannot bend and stretch like the factory screen does.
I do recommend a TPU film type screen protector that can bend, stretch, and has puncture proof (they are hard to pierce as the film will stretch and absorb the shape of the object before tearing apart) properties. The best one I found to date is made by Gobukee.

Okay, so before using the Gobukee screen protector I had a TPU film screen protector that I purchased on Aliexpress (it arrived first, and was available before stumbling upon the Gobukee product on Amazon). I removed the Aliexpress screen protector and it came right off without putting any undue pressure or damage to the Razr 5G screen. What I disliked about the Aliexpress screen protector was the tacky feel when swiping your finger on it. It kinda grabbed and had some resistance to it. And I didn't realize how cloudy it looked after having installed the Gobukee screen protector as the replacement.
The Gobukee screen protector is far superior in two ways over the Aliexpress screen protector. It feels like the factory screen in that your finger glides effortlessly across the screen. And, it looks much clearer and literally disappears "into" the screen so it feels like it's not even there.
What I also liked about the Gobukee kit is that it comes with everything you need to install the two screen protectors. Sealed wipes, stickies to remove dust, and a a real handy tool to help push out the air bubbles (it has a felt like piece over the edges that touches the screen protector which helps in gliding over the screen protector and not gouging or catching the tpu film when installing).
One caveat or positive attribute, and it is personal for each user. The Gobukee screen protector gives a glass like shine (sheen) to the Razr 5G which makes it look a lot nicer when the screen is off or when looking at a black or dark colored images. But, some may not like the reflection given by the screen protector and may find it a distraction in sun or brightly lit rooms.
Also, I would recommend the following. If you do install a screen protector I would suggest right after installation to place your device under UV light. I have one of those Phonesoap devices that uses UV to sterilize smartphones which helps in the installation process of a screen protector. Second, after installing the screen protector I would leave the phone unfolded for 12 - 24 hours.

i would be very wary of any kind of additional plastic glued to the flexible display as the difference in expansion / contraction and flex could overpower the glued layers of the oem screen and cause delamination.
That and if removing this protector causes permanent damage to the oem screen then it is effectively useless and I've yet to see any reviews on the removal process. Since these protectors only serve a purpose if you can remove them when damaged and replace with a new one.

So I'm on my 3rd Razr 5G. The first one, the one I installed the screen protector worked perfectly (the screen protector part) and kept the screen display on the phone from any possible or physical damage. I was and 100% satisfied. I sold the handset, and after a while I decided to purchase another one (I really missed it).
The second one, I did not install a screen protector (that was a huge mistake) and I purchased an extended warranty. After using the phone for 4 months, the screen developed linear scratches up and down the display (my finger swiping up or down) over time that left the screen with physical damage. I regretted not getting a screen protector. This unit too suffered mechanical failure, and I returned it under warranty. When I receive my new unit, I will re-install a screen protector. This phone is fragile to start with, I did not experience one single drawback by not using a screen protector.

Now many people may ask why I didn't opt for the clear ones that cost more on the website. Maybe they are better!
Maybe. But personally what I look for in a protector is 1) texture and 2) how it looks over the screen. That why I prefer Matte. Its personal preference.

The packaging contains the following:
2x Screen protectors for screen (yes 2)
3x Camera screen protectors for the Back camera
1x Squeegee (its really just a rectangle piece of plastic)
1x Micro Fiber Cloth
Cutting & Coverage
The screen real estate covered by the screen protector is literally everything. Only 2 areas are not covered. The first is the front facing camera and the second is the home button. The
cutting of the protector is as perfect as it an be. Areas like cutout for the front speakers are not excessively large and has just enough allowance for very slight mis-alignment. The edges
of the screen protector cover up nicely and exposed areas are reduced to a minimal ~0.5 to 1mm.
There is a tiny cutout provided to cover up the camera lens at the back of the phone. That cutout is crystal clear and not matte because well, it's a camera.
My only gripe is that they did not create an extra cutout for us to cover the center button.

Hardness and protection against scratches
Since putting on the protector last night, I have used my fingernails to scratch out air bubbles and is happy to report that no visible marks were left although I did use a fair bit of
force. Before putting on the protector, I bent it slightly and found the material to be much harder than the cheap $10 clear protector that can be found in 90% of the shops in Singapore.
(forgot what brand it is but the packaging is blue and ugly). I would estimate the material to be 1x harder than my previous protector yet not thicker.
Overall, while I can't speak for how scratch resistant it is until I've had time to use it longer, initial impressions are good.
Anti Fingerprint qualities
The anti fingerprint qualities simply work although I dont' know how. As long as your fingers are dry, you will find no visible fingerprints on the screen from normal swiping. This is in
contrast to normal clear screen protectors that would leave fingerprints behind due to oil and residue on our fingers. I did notice that if you make a call and there is oil transfer from
your face, it has to be wiped away with your shirt or a cloth for the screen to be anti-fingerprint again.
Clarity of screen
There is obviously going to be some form of quality degradation due to the matte nature of the film. However, whatever contrast or brightness (very minimal) that you lose, you gain back in
clarity due to the screen's newly gained anti glare capabilities. Due to this, there seems to have been an improvement in screen clarity (for me at least). This is probably due to a wider
viewing angle.
Screen sensitivity
One key part that I have to mention is that I personally felt an increase in screen sensitivity after I applied the protector. The film gives the screen a sort of rough texture that doesn't
impede swiping, but instead acts as an extra sensitivity feedback for your fingers. Due to this, the screen somehow feels more responsive due to your fingers being able to slide more
precisely across the screen. Its hard to describe but take it as very very tiny invisible bumps that helps your fingers know where to stop when swiping around your screen.
Another thing I want to mention is that the screen also now feels "softer" to touch compared to when the screen was bare.
Summary
Overall I would say the protection is simply fantastic compared to the "cheap" protectors that is currently available in stores in Singapore. I have personally used martin's fields and
while the martin's field screen protectors are clear and quite scratch resistant, doesn't provide the improved sensitivity and wider viewing angle of the screen. Martin's field is also a
finger print magnet.
In terms of value, I actually got 2 protectors for $26SGD~ which means it only costs about $13 dollars each. This is in contrast to the $15SGD that shops are asking for unbranded matte screen
protectors.

I'm using the SGP Crystal on my Nexus One, and just bought Crystal screen protector for my parents' Captivates (both of them have 1).
I gotta say, out of all the screen protectors I had, this one is the one that's trully "Invisible" in every sense. It's feels very much like the naked screen, and is completely invisible. Even slightest distortion wouldn't cut it for me.
Highly recommend SGP screen protectors.

I'm not sure if people were scooping them up as soon as they were listed or what but it seemed that the Clarivue wasn't available for the i9000 yet, so I emailed Cellular Link (ebay) and they located them and listed them right away.
I am so happy to have some on the way.
I've used these on every gadget I've owned over the last 6-7 years, including my kids Nintendo DSs, Gameboys, my pdas and phones, GPS, iPod touches. They go on easy, they comes off relatively easy but never by mistake (as long as your screen was clean in the first place when you applied it). On an iPod touch I cannot even tell it's there, I mention this cause it's the only other capacitive display I've tried one on. They hold up to the abuse of my kids, and the one on my HTC Touch has been on their for 2.5 years and handles being thrown in my pocket with keys etc. no problem. It has a few scratches on however the clarity is still awesome, can't say enough good about them.
I'll post a follow-up of how they work on my Vibrant next week when the phone and screen protectors arrive.

Thanks for the review. I was looking for a matte finish screen protector and couldn't find one. I have the Realook on my phone now, but I hate the shiny screen. Let me start this review with a basic explanation of PET Film vs Tempered Glass screen protectors. Film is for scratch protection. Direct impact will shatter your display glass even with 4H hardness film screen protector. Tempered Glass offers scratch and impact protections where these are typically rated at 9H hardness and will absorb direct impact, shattering only in extreme case. If you want ultimate protection - tempered glass is the way to go! Until recently, tempered glass screen protectors used to be thick and heavy, and used adhesive which sometimes wasn't sticking on the edges (thicker glass, less flexibility, worse edge adhesion). Also, in the past you had not too many choices, and tempered glass protectors were very expensive. A lot of this has changed today, and Anker's new product is an example of it. Here is what I found.
It arrived in a very secure slim package with all the necessary installation instructions and accessories. I have dealt with other brand name premium tempered glass screen protectors in the past, and this package was as complete as any other which cost 2x-3x as much. You get your generous size micro-fiber cloth, bubble removal tab (plastic, not some cheap carton), a sticker for dust removal, alcohol prep pad, detailed instructions, and one tempered glass screen protector, very carefully packaged. Installation is very easy, a lot simpler than with a film protector. First of all, you need a dust free environment and a clean non-static surface. I use our kitchen granite top island, where I do all of my reviews. Make sure your hands are washed with a soap and dried afterwards. Another trick I use - ALWAYS install screen protector without my t-shirt (yeah, topless!!! ). You know how much you read on the internet about "go to your bathroom, let the shower run to get rid off dust in the air, blah, blah, blah". Sure, you get rid of dust in the air, and then you lean over your phone to install screen protector, specks of dust from your t-shirt get in there by static lol!!! So anyway, make sure hands are clean, phone display is wiped with alcohol pad to get rid off oil, and then still wipe it with a micro-fiber cloth so there is no dust.
The installation itself is easy because unlike thin film screen protector which bends in your hands, you can hold tempered glass by the edge with your fingers without bending so it's easy to align it with a phone. Be careful because you will have about a mil of margin to fit it between edges of the phone frame. But don't worry, if you mess it up, just lift the screen protector with your finger nail and apply it again. I did it 3 times with mine until I got it perfect. You will know when it's perfect when you can squeeze all the air bubbles from underneath (first time it wasn't sticking along right edge until I realized I overlapped it with a phone edge). Finally it went on like a butter, no bubbles, perfect adhesion around edges, and worked well with UAG case.
Now, about this glass protector itself. It's very thin, only 0.33mm thick. The touch feeling is like a perfect glass display, very smooth. Nearly perfect transparency. Anker has it in a spec as 94% light penetration, while to me it was like nothing on top of the screen. It has 9H hardness, anti-chip rounded edges, shatter proof so in case of direct hard impact it won't shatter into tiny sharp pieces. Also, it's smudge and fingerprint resistant, thanks to oleophobic coating.
Overall, I was very impressed with a quality of Anker's tempered glass screen protector and very pleased with end results after installation. It definitely has a premium spec comparable to other brand name tempered glass protectors, it doesn't distort or alter the color of the screen, it feels like a real smooth glass and thin enough not too add extra bulk to your S5, and the most important - it should give you a piece of mind beyond just a basic scratch protection. This one gets my high recommendation!

Gotta ask my wife, it's her phone Not even sure if she has it enabled. But don't see why it would be a problem. Home button is open so it shouldn't cause any problem. Due to glass being thin, it will be easy to slide the finger. I'm using on my Note 2 Seidio VITREO glass which is twice as thick, and you can really feel a cavity around home button. So to answer your question, it should NOT be a problem since S5 home button is open and not recessed too much.
Looks nice but unfortunately the link from the Anker site to Amazon US brings up a plastic film product from Anker. I searched everywhere in Amazon and can't find the glass screen protector.
White definitely looks better than the black, it gives a nice contrast. Now I wish I would have got a white phone instead.

I have a Spigen glass tr slim and it's actually easier to use the fingerprint scanner with it on. I believe it's .23mm though.

I dont think that there should be one. Looking at other screen protectors, they only are
over the screen and are ending on both sides right before the glass gets round. I hope you understand what i am trying to say. The protector wont go completely to the edges. But i am looking forward to that test/review too.
Application: VERY easy to apply. I let it drop on to the phone and it was floating on the phone, letting me make minor adjustments to even out the sides. I followed the install tip of "touching the center of the phone to let the adhesive spread", which actually worked. There is a small <1mm border where the adhesive hasn't fully set. I am hoping that this sets fully over time-otherwise it will attract dust.
Coverage: It covers more than 100% of the active display but leaves about 5% of the Motorola glass uncovered. This is good for me, since I use a Diztronic TPU case, and screen protectors that are too close to the edges end up peeling with TPU covers.
HUGE improvement to image clarity, viewing angle, and feel. The whole phone seems to be higher resolution. 90% reduction in fingerprints/dirt/resistance. I am using 0.1% brightness using Gsam screen dimmer, and it looks so much brighter than before indoors!
Since only one manufacturer brought this XT1080 case to market, I'd have been happy even at a much higher price. I am ordering a few more for spares in case I ever need them and find them discontinued/unavailable.

Great find... I've been trying to find tempered glass for my Maxx for months. I ordered one of these for about $6 (dirt cheap!), and am liking it so far. I'm curious, though... Have the edges of your tempered glass adhered yet? Mine has been on for a few days, and the edges are still not grabbing completely. My Maxx lives in a Trident case (Kraken, I think), so the edges of the screen protector are pretty much covered. Just wasn't sure if there was any trick to the application that I missed...
After a week the top and bottom of mine never fully 'seated'. Doesn't affect the viewable part of the the screen but looks kinda crappy. Put the same product on an iPhone 5S and it went on completely correct from the start. Makes me wonder if it was me or the protector.
Since I have several, I took one off and applied a second due to the outer edges not making full contact. The manual refers to letting the 'adhesive spread', however there is no adhesive. It simply clings to the clean phone surface. I placed the first screen protector on the middle of my LCD monitor. totally clear all the way to the edges.
I think the Droid Maxx screen isn't 100% flat, perhaps as a result of the (LACK) of precision that led to both of my XT1080's having a terrible creaking noise on the side.
Despite this nuisance, I like the feel of the glass cover more every time I use it. I'm actually fearful of the Droid Turbo launch now--in case glass covers are not available on launch day.
$95? Presumably the seller jacked up the prices on these.... That's crazy. The privacy version is less than $10.

I went through some of the sellers feedback, noticed that some say it is plastic and not glass... I would think it's glass, so just wanted to make sure. Can anyone that purchased from this eBay seller confirm.
Also noticed the price decreased since it's under $6 shipped now.
It is definitely real tempered glass.... When I took my first one off, it took very little to crack it. the bottom layer touching the phone was the only thing keeping the pieces of glass held together at that point.
The XT1080, like the Droid Turbo, Note 4, and IPhone 6, have glass that curves at the edges. These rigid screen protectors don't fully attach at the edges causing a halo effect.
Companies have been revising their Note4 designs to address this but they are basically just making the screen covers smaller with more of the screen uncovered.
This will be a short review which hopefully helps OP7 Pro owners wether they should buy the tempered glass protector from Ultimate Shield or not. Please take your time and read the whole review

This might be the time to add that Ultimate Shield did not tell me to write this, I bought the screen protector because I have used their OP5 tempered glass in the past and was satisfied with that one. In case the pictures don't show on your screen, I've attached them in a zip file down below.

What about applying it?
The instructions are basically useless, since we're dealing with a screen protector which sticks to the phone with the adhesive side, so no bubbles, no "vacuum" or anything like that, as long as the display has been cleaned before nothing can go wrong, just make sure that the side slim black bar is alined with the top of the phone. Oh and you should remove the preapplied screen protector before putting this one on the display. After that it is important to apply preassure on the border of the screen protector to make it stick, and this is where things get critical, at least that is what happened to me. Even though it looks like I've prefectly placed the glass on top of the display some parts of the protector simply won't stick, or at least stick for a few minutes. I have added some photos where you can see a tiny gap. Keep in mind that I have applied A LOT of pressure on those parts, more than enough. The screen protector has rounded corners and a curved edge, it covers about 99 percent of the display.
What about colours and sharpness of the display with the screen protector?
After applying the screen protector I haven't noticed any kind of weird colour shifting or rainbow effect. It still looks as sharp as before, but due to reflections the edge of the display has some minor rainbow effect. I only notice that at a specific angle and when the background is white. Oh and it doesn't seem to cut off any part of the screen.
What about the fingerprint reader?
After deleting the old fingerprints and adding new ones with the screen protector applied the fingerprint scanner works 99/100 times, it might take a split second longer than without it, but I didn't have any issues.
What about the touchscreen and gestures?
This is where I got frustrated. After using the phone with the tempered glass I instantly noticed that the touchscreen wasn't as responsive as it was before. "alright", I said to myself, "It is completely normal that it feels different now". Unfortunately this is why I would personally not buy this screen protector again. I had to apply more pressure than ususal when tapping on an icon and so on. Sometimes the touchscreen didn't register even though my finger clearly touched the glass. This was very annoying when using the keyboard, in almost every sentence at least one or two characters where simply missing because the touchscreen wasn't as responsive as before. Same story with gestures, you need a lot more pressure and when swping up or down in order to open the app drawer or notifications it sometimes works but sometimes it takes up to three tries in order to get the gesture to work. In comparison, without the tempered glass screen protector I had no issues at all.
SUMMERY
Applying it was easy but when I did it it didin't stick as good as I hoped it would. The tempered glass screen protector doesn't really change colours, which is a good thing. THe touchscreen experience was comparable with one of those older smartphones where you had to use more force and it wasn't as accurate. Overall, I can not recommend it for the price, unless you use the touchscreen with a lot of force. If you think that I didn't apply it correctly feel free to "call me out" in the comment section and tell me how you would have done it.
UPDATE
Since the tempered glass didn't stick very well anyway I went ahead and carefully removed it and moved it about 1mm downward. Unfortunately the touchscreen is still not responsive enough to use the keyboard without any issues which is why I contacted Ultimate Shield directly via Email. (still waiting for them to reply)
FINAL UPDATE
They answered and after looking at the images I send them they said that it might be faulty because according to them the black adhesive should stick much better than it did in my case. They were kind enough to give me a refund! If you bought one and had a much better experience please tag me so I can quote your opinion!

Probably, I think my application was good, I guess the adhesive can't do the job when it comes to the curved edges...
Too bad OP didn't release one at launch. I assume they will down the road like they did with the 6T.

Cus it's curved usually only decent one for a curve is white stone

Well the 7 is just the 6T, so they just have to update the packaging

Well the flap of the protective foil that was on the the glass was probably the indicator.
That and the fact that the bottom part of teh black frame was way wider than the upper part...
About 2mm of black adhesive on the buttom and 1mm on the top...
EDIT:
It wouldn't make sense to aline the the thicker black line with the thin bezel

I've ordered same protector for delivery tomorrow, getting the phone today so I'll give it a go, how is it with cases or have you not checked? I've ordered the Ringke Fusion-X too so would hope they'll work together.
Watched this video of the PureGear protector, from XDA fave TK Bay, which looks mucho pricey but seems to play nicely with, at least, official cases.

the glass doen't fully the cover the display, there's about 1 to 1.5mm between the tempered glass and the frame of the phone, I can use the transparent TPU case that came with the phone without any problems
Thank you for your review. I currently have a film on my screen now. I was thinking about purchasing a tempered glass shield for my 7 pro especially since T-Mobile has the Puregear one on sale for 10 bucks off (if I'm not mistaking) but I'm not sure.
I actually ordered the same tempered glass,but I noticed that it wasnt clear and that the black outline on the edges was the adhesive. It doesn't truly embrace the curved screen, but you can use it for the back of your phone. I glued to the back of my 7 Pro with the clear case on. Your phone will look like a beast

Got one too. Install was super easy but like said in OP, sensitivity gets way worse. I would not recommend.

The screen of my 7Pro looks like new. I never used a screen protector. Just the sandstone hardcase for the back.
