Album doesn't play mp4 files - Help requested

yesterday i try to get rid of some old apps instaled on my HD and i messed with the registry
i also instaled new apps
last night i tryed to watch a movie (mp4 format) that i now for sure it worked when i loaded on my sd card
now the HTC Album doesn't play it any more and i tryed with other movies and it's the same. i get the following message:
"No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection"
what the heck is that?
is it possible to accidentaly erased some essential things or the new apps to overwrite something?
the pictures are played well, so i am confused
could anyone help?

which rom you use?
try Windows Media Player if you have a cooked rom! or go to HTC Album press Option search your Movie

i use stock rom 1.14.479.3(25874)WWE
album can "see" the movies within movies folder but it doesn't play them. i just get the mentioned message
same with windows media player but no message. just not play the files.

And just from my point of view, if ANYONE suggest Coreplayer, please do me a personal favour and ignore them. Whilst Coreplayer will play the majority of video files...due to a lack of hardware acceleration support it plays them incredibly poorly in my rather expansive experience of Windows Mobile devices.

yeah, coreplayer does play the files, but i spent a lot of time converting them in order to play with album / wmplayer because of the hardware accelearation and now i can do that anymore
it kinda drive me crazy because i don't want to do a hard reset. AGAIN

how MP4 file association to WMP?
I tried with Total Commander, but i set param %1, i have error
if no param, just start the WMP.

i fond out that this error message also appears on PC's and it is related to DirectX 9, and more exactly DirectShow
do I have DirectShow on my HD and I ersed something?
any way to restore / reinstall that?

and the last one
it seems that also youtube player doesn't work anymore
it gives everytime the message "cannot play this video"
so, to resume:
- Windows Media Player, HTC Album, DivX Player does not play mp4 files (i dont't know about Kinoma because i have the free version)
- Core Player plays mp4 files but bad
HTC Album returns error message "No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection"
- Youtube Player does not plays files from youtube
- Core Player and Kinoma plays files fom youtube
Youtube Player returns error message "Cannot play this movie"
any ideeas what to do, except the hard reset?

[Q] SE Music Player in Aniking's ROM

Hello !! I don't have 10 post yet, so I can't post my doubt in the ROM's development thread.
I'm using the Xperia_AniKing_v1.0.0_Ice Cream ROM and I realy like it !!
The only thing I didn't like, is the Avril Lavigne's picture show in the Music Player when a not tagged music is running.
Is possible to remove this image and left the default image for non cataloged albuns?

Why not just use another music player if it bugs you? I'd suggest power amp it's a good player imo

Cause I like so much the stock music player and in this ROM I'm using, it is very beautiful with transparence. When I open the player, the Avril's picture dont show up, just in the widget it happens.

try music tag apps from market,it can correct mp3 details like album art..or u can try different musics player..

Hi to all devs , I just moved from android to WP7 and to me the only missings in WP7 are these apps and if you guys can develop them , WP7 will be a perfect OS .
Gallery : similar to Android version with options to delete , share , set as , etc ...
Music : similar to Android version with options to delete , share , set as , etc ...
Bluetooth file transfer : I know that Cotulla made one but it has to be implemented in the Gallery and Music apps .

I like the Zune player for playing music on the phone myself. I did write a music player for Google Play though.

Uh, pictures does everything you asked for and more than Android you can automatically upload your camera pictures to SkyDrive and open the pic in any app that shows up in your Pictures Hub. Also quite a few phone manufacturers replace the Android standard Gallery app because it's ****.
You can't use music for anything. You can share info about what you like and and are listening to through the Zune app. Custom ringtones have to be MP3 or WMA, under 1MB, 30s or less, with genre set to "Ringtone" and then they only show up in your ringtones. This is done so unlike Android you are not staring at an "Incoming Call" screen for 5 seconds before your ringtone starts playing.

Mx player is better, but get the 1.6f version, not the last one, since that one doesn't has dts sound support and the 1.6f does.

It's not working, it shows 'Can't start visualer in device'. I'm on Rooted Xperia Z2 (Custom Stock ROM).

It works great! I found only one bug, when playing music, it reduces the sound for 1s then continue playing music normally but it's doing it every 10s..

i find other led music effect app for Xperia.

Led Music Effect helps many phone rhythm led music but it requires root and not completely correct follow beat music. (Recommend for custom rom)
Xperia led music, it good for sony mobile , perfect for SP rom stock, but: (recommend for rom stock)
- Just random blink for other xperia
- If you choose "All device", it only works when screen off
