LineageOS Installed - How do I get the original Pixel Launcher features? - LineageOS Questions & Answers

Hi,
I've installed LineageOS & GApps micro...
I loaded up the Google Play Store and downloaded most of the google apps including Google App (Search), Pixel Launcher & Google News yet the below features don't work:
- "Okay Google" isn't working... If I go into Google Settings > Voice Match the toggle to enable/disable "Hey Google" is greyed out and turned off... how do I enable it?
- "Google Search Bar" is missing... (At the bottom of the pixel launcher, it also exists when you open the app list)
- "Google Now" is missing... (Left panel of the pixel launcher, shows a search bar, quick links to weather, food, entertainment, sports and has cards with information for you including news articles)

[NO ROOT][STOCK ROM] Google Assistant on Lenovo Vibe K5/K5 Plus

1. Download and Open Activity Launcher
2. Tap on the “Recent activities” tab up top and select “All activities.” Wait for all activities to load.
3. Scroll down until you find the Google App. Tap on it to expand all available activities under the Google App.
4. Find com.google.android.apps.gsa.staticplugins.opa.hq.OpaHqActivity (last 7th). You can either tap on it once or create a shortcut to it on your launcher.
5. You’ll now find yourself within the new Assistant “explore” screen where Google categorizes available integrations, how to use them, and quick access to make custom shortcuts.
6. Swipe over to the “Your Stuff” tab up top.
7. Tap on “Add Reminder” to trigger Google Assistant. What this action does is launch the activity com.google.android.apps.gsa.staticplugins.opa.OpaActivity – which normally can’t be accessed on your unrooted device.
8. You’ll now be taken through the hotword setup process. Teach it to recognize your voice, and you’re done! Now you can access Google Assistant by saying “OK Google!”
Edit: Install Google Assistant Launcher and continue with step 5.

The simplest way to get assistant
hello there's some easy way, you can access google assistant but you must register to become beta tester for Google app in playstore, I think the beta tester automatically enabled and The Assistant launched itself after installed the beta app and that's work normally without exploring etc
after installing, you can try press home and there's option you can choose Google apps or Google Assistant or depend apps installed on your device :good:

Google Assistant?

Is there a way to get google Assistant on the Mi6 like on the Google Pixel?
Set the default assistant application
Settings > Installed Apps > Defaults (gear icon on the bottom), Set "Assist & voice input" to Google
On MIUI 8, you can use Google Assistant by long press the home button. But on MIUI 9, this operation just open Google search instead of the assistant.

How to remove "Say ok google" widget

Is there an option to remove that widget from homescreen?
There must be a solution to this without using a different launcher.
No, if you search on the Mi A1 forum (basically the same device), nobody found a way to remove the search bar from the stock launcher, because it is hard-coded.
The only way is using another launcher (Nova recommended) or modify the stock launcher apk to remove the bar, and replace it.
Maybe this works?
Disable the Google App
Danielle Furry recommends disabling the Google app in settings, which works for a range of Android versions. Here's how it works:
Open Settings, then open Apps
In the All apps list, find Google app, or just Google, tap it and select disable
Reboot your phone and the search bar should be gone!
If you disable the Google app, don't worry about breaking your phone. Apps like Google Play Services are essential for your system (unless you build your OS outside of Google's ecosystem), but your other apps will work fine without the Google app.
Do be warned however, the Google Assistant and voice search depend on the Google app, so disabling the Google app will also negatively affect dependent services such as Google Home, Google Lens, and Google's notifications about weather and transport, for example.

Worked for me. I used Nova Launcher Prima to remap the center button to open the app drawer instead of launching any Googly stuff. This frees up space to put more apps on the bottom row.

Are there any Pixel 3XL users who have the option to use Google Keep as their default Grocery Shopping List (when in the Google Assistant settings)? Are you on the beta program or using the regular Google app?
