If u dont know MIUI 8 Global Beta has been released yesterday for our beloved redmi 1s ,
some features like Dual apps & Second Space are still missing , among which Second Space i Think Wont come even when stable build is launched because of android 4.4.4 , and multi window wont come as well , The Search bar in notification center is also missing ....
Other than that all other features are present , i have flashed the rom yesterday itself and installed xcelerate kernel build 7 to improve the battery life . So far i havent encountered any bugs and can be used as a daily driver ... All other features like scrolling screen shots work flawlessly , the rom is smooth no lags whatsoever ,.
More over 2 features are hidden like 1 - battery saver , 2 - app invisible . to use those features You Will have to go to settings and on the search bar in settings you will have to type " battery saver " or " app invisible " and then only u can use it .
Google Play services Work Normally Without Any issues . Gps is also working Normally
I am getting approx 5. 00 hrs of screen on time with brightness set to automatic and using wifi all day ( not on data connection) , with little clash of clans , 2- 2.5 hrs of video play back , Facebook , whatsapp , twitter , instagram , little web browsing ...
all these are based on moderate usage
The only thing that i am left to test is the music pause bug which i will do tmrw and update this thread accordingly .
tmrw i am going to do heavy usage n report accordingly

Now there is link for MIUI8, they added it as I can see, but there was no link for Redmi 1s first day on release. So my mistake

Don't worry about it. I installed it just now. Though its KK, the ROM is impressive. I just hope I won't have a audio suspend issue

Global beta was out 4 days ago, but at first now for our phone. Didn't know it was out in the meantime.
So, excellerate kernel bld.7 huh.? I flashed the rom yesterday,,.and facing a little lag today wth heavy use in stock kernel. Any better custom kernel suggestion guyz.?
Does this have Gapps pre installed . actually I used miui 8 Chinese developer then turned to cm 13 .. The chinese developer ROM has a 10-15 percent battery drain over night . I haven't flashed any zip to get root in that ROM just there is pre build option to root on the go !

Global roms always have gapps pre installed n yeh that overnight drain is there on global as well

For me xcelerate is working the best, the phone didnt slow down even after installing 60 apps. battery is also good. Overall its smoother than cm13 now.
