Yes me too facing this issue and also icon label just showing up ( not fully) just above the navigation bar when I turn on Navigation dock.
Easy fix to solve this issue;
Go to display settings
Click screen resolution
Click OFF smart resolution
In CUSTOM-change resolution to 2k (highest) and let it refresh (the key is to change the resolution to native state once)
The issue is fixed
You can go back to display settings and enable smart resolution without any issues

U can use a new navigation bar developed by XDA . It's very fluid and iPhone like navigation.

Is there any way to hide the full screen display tab on apps un-optimize for full screen?
Yeah, just use the full screen. I've never encountered an app that wasn't compatible.

I have one that works but some of the buttons and pictures overlap. There should be an option to hide the tab because I keep clicking on it by accident.
On October update, it's dark. Did not notice until nighttime so I don't know if it's tied to time. Can't find any settings for it.
Are you on beta? I don't see a dark theme and have the October update.

Not on any beta. Not even aware of a current beta.
Under settings, display, advanced I have dark theme selected. And I do have a solid black wallpaper.
I meant beta for Google app. Dark theme and black wallpaper still didn't do the trick.

Lol, as soon as I hit submit I realized that. Not on the app beta, but I do have a pretty new version from 9/27.
And correct me if I am wrong, but the layout looks new too. The topic of each card is centered now with the little stars. I remember it being part of the card and on the left.
Yeah does look like a new layout. I have the same version. Probably a server side update that got turned on for you.

That's it, good call. I feel special now, thanks Google!
There is a little slider on the right for more or less. Page two of assistant is all white.
I am happy to report it stays dark during the day.
I believe it was a google app update, not beta or anything like that.
Got it going as well.

It's part of the 9/27 update. It is then turned on server side. They do this somewhat often.

Can't find it. When you say Android settings, do you mean the gear icon when you pull down the notification bar? Maybe I don't have it yet, just want to make sure. Care to share a screenshot of the setting? Thx

Try to use the knuckle gesture. Double tap on screen using 2 knuckles. Just make sure you have it turned on.

It works as designed, but I think it needs a redesign
Always on display still times out after 5 minutes. It should stay on until the watch runs out of power or i turn the option off.

"Always On Display" is the dimmed / alternative face (depending on which face you're using) that comes on after your normal screen has timed out.
Hmm i did not interpret it that way. Thanks.

There are certain watch faces that can show the whole watch after dim.
But amoled screen has issue with burn in. So not recommended

Yes indeed there are. I make mine like that. And if it's white face, I find they go too dim you can't even tell the time so I've started making inverted colours for dim mode. Whole face, but opposite colours. Problem is though that dim is still, well, dim. If you wanted to show off your beautiful face you spent hours scripting on, you can't unless you don't use wrist gesture
