Rooting bootlooping G4 (H811) & preserving data, without internet/wifi?

Hi all ...
So I have a bootlooping LG G4 H811, running Marshmallow. I've been able to get some data backed up to the SD card with the freezer method, with airplane mode enabled and WiFi off. But, I don't have all I want yet. Some things missing include Chrome history, bookmarks, open tabs, possibly WiFi passwords, SMS/MMS messages, voicemails saved on the phone, and other things.
I'd like to root the phone, so I can use Titanium Backup to back everything up. For good measure, I might also use ES File Explorer to copy everything in "/" to my 128GB SD card (except of course the SD card - can't really copy it to itself after all). Also I might want to try setting the CPU governor to powersave, or locking the max CPU frequency fairly low, to try to get back up & running temporarily with WiFi & out of the freezer.
A couple issues that stand in my way right now:
I want to root WITHOUT wiping data, so I can back up the data that I can't back up without root. I don't want to risk killing the phone / data by trying to extract an image & reflashing it after injecting root, or something like that.
I can't turn on any internet data on the phone in its current condition. When I try turning on WiFi, the temp (with the phone in the freezer) spikes within seconds from 8°C to 140°C on a couple things according to CPU-Z, then the phone bootloops. (I have to give it a rest, refreeze, then immediately upon bootup turn off WiFi, to be able to do anything.)
Since I could take the SD card out of the phone & use a card reader in my laptop ... is there something I could put on the SD card, then run in the phone so I can enable root while keeping everything else intact? I'm not planning to try installing another OS, as the phone is essentially useless right now; also if I enable wifi the phone immediately bootloops even in the freezer. This is mainly so I can use Titanium Backup Pro to back up my entire dying phone.
Then, once I have it all backed up, and get a new phone, what about restoring everything that was backed up with Titanium Backup Pro? If I don't root the new phone yet, what do I need to watch out for on restoring?
Also what are some phones that are more likely to support rooting / custom ROMs without voiding the warranty? Phones under consideration include the Asus Zenfone AR, Google Pixel, OnePlus 3T, as well as a few others from Asus, HTC, Huawei, LeEco, LG (G6?), Motorola, Oppo, Samsung (S8?), vivo, Xiaomi & ZTE. If the OnePlus 4 (or 5) comes out in the next month or two, I might consider that one.
I'm thinking the Pixel, or OnePlus phones, would be most likely to "officially" support root, and have close to stock / vanilla Android?
For now, I'm using the Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G that the G4 had replaced. (It has issues of its own, but is functioning better than the G4 for now.)

clean mi max

Hi
just got my Xiaomi Mi Max Prime (helium),
got it unlocked,
flashed lineage OS but there's the thing:
at the root of the internal SD (emulated/0), I still find such directories as:
DuoKan
mi_drive
miliao
Mimarket,Baidu,
MIUI
sogou
tencent
I like things clean so how can I clean this mess? Reformat? Can I just delete these?
Also the booting process, when Mi is displayed, takes quite some time (as opposed to samsung devices for instance) - any hidden processes running in that phase / sending back data to China - anyone ever worried about this?
How can booting speed be increased?
Can the Mi display be replaced with something a bit more fun?
Thanks
A

I can't share files through Mi Share on my Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite, how can I fix this?

I've a Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite but since the last time I can't share files through Mi Share.
If I try to share something and then press "Share", I can only see Google's Nearby Share but however I can receive files through Mi Share.
I didn't remove Mi Share from my phone with Xiaomi ADB Fastboot Tools.
I've tried to install the apk file of Mi Share but that didn't solve the problem.
How can I fix this issue?
You may not have removed mi share but have you removed other Xiaomi apk as one app may call upon another service. You seem to have a lot of problems using apps & if you are restoring backups from other devices never restore system apps or apps which are proprietary to the old phone.
Also just ditch Xiaomi apps - if you want to transfer things from one device to the other there's loads of better apps out there
I use WiFi file explorer pro
You can test the free version up to 50 times
WiFi File Explorer - Apps on Google Play
Browse, download, upload, delete, copy, stream and manage files via WiFi!!
play.google.com
Place it on the device you want to copy data to and run it. On the other device type the ip address the app tells you in a Web browser and then you can access all the files on the other device and transfer files to it
Yes, it's true that I've some problems with apps and the UI but I've managed to find solutions to all of them.
I use only some Xiaomi apps, I've removed the most of them through Xiaomi ADB Fastboot Tools.

Click to collapse
And that's probably your issue - you've removed something that app depends on to work
Use a 3rd party alternative as I've suggested above
Okay, then is my problem solved

Question Unable to restore WhatsApp (Dual App)

Hi
Purchased a F3 and transferred my Apps across - I have 2 Sims and hence 2 WhatsApp accounts
Used these on my Poco F1 using the dual apps feature and worked fine
When I have tried to install whatsapp, 1 sim / number works fine, but the second one doesn't allow me to restore from backup
When I changed the order of restore eg 2nd sim first, I got an error saying not enough storage, but I have only used 30Gb out of my 256gb?
Is there a solution?
The phone is running MIUI 12.5.1 - Android Version 11 RKQ1.200826.002
Hoping for a solution
Thanks in advance for any help received

Question Only genius will know (Xiaomi to Samsung backup)

Hi All
Soo... aparently there is no one that can answer this...
If you copy and paste your Xiaomi backup to a PC... ( iAllbackup..). is there a way ( if you no longer have the phone) to copy this to a Samsung galaxy..., with the Xiaomi you can just dump it on the right location on phone and then do a phone restore, but the crappy Mi Launcher won't detect my phone. I was thinking of using mobiletrans but the back file (.bak) seems to be specific to Xiaomi, my question is this...
Is there a program (or a way to copy the backup file from my PC to my Galaxy (remember I no longer have access to the Xiaomi)
Or...
Is there a program that will do it
I see every post about doing it if you have both phones BUT I DONT, it's driving me crazy.
Thanks, guys
Just use Titanium Backup or Swift Backup. Doesn't matter what the phone is or what model. It'll work consistently across them.
OR, use the native Android backup which uses your Google account.......you could literally search XDA or Google all of this stuff. Not sure why you're trying to do this the wrong and hard way.
