Cameras working weird after update - LG G7 ThinQ Questions & Answers

I have an LG G710EM. So I had a battery replacement recently and everything was working fine. I updated to android Q via LGUP and now my cameras are working funny. If I open the camera app on android 10 the app crashes immediately. I tried safe mode and only the main rear camera was working. The wide angle just freezes.
I downgraded to android 9 and here the apps open and main camera works but when I tap the wide angle lens it freezes. If I tap the selfie camera the wide angle lens open and it works there but everything is flipped upside down WTF! its funny and frustrating. I've tried clearing data and cache I tried reflashing android nothing works. A little help would be appreciated.

[Q] Rear-facing camera replacement?

I ordered a new rear facing camera for my phone and installed the new one, but now when I go to the Camera app says the gallery has stopped, or comes up and says the camera is not detected then closes the app. The front facing camera works fine and the old camera module I had in it works still too. Do I need to wipe and reinstall my ROM, or is it just a bad module? I noticed that it has 120511 on the board and my original shows 120411 so maybe it's just not compatible? The reason I was replacing it is because the old camera has marks/spots that show up when you try and take pictures. I tried to clean it with a cotton swab and condensed air which I think helped a little but can't get it fully clear. :crying:
Could be a driver issue i suppose if it is in fact a different hardware version.

Camera cannot focus at distance

I got a warranty replacement and I'm finding the camera cannot focus at distance. Up to 1 foot it focuses great, but anything farther is a mess. Even with manual focus at infinity it doesn't work.
Sad quality control?
What about with video ?
Give the lens a clean. Take a good look at it and see whether some dust got trapped on the inside. Give it a tap and see if it moves.
With the camera app closed and not in memory try clearing the camera app cache and restarting. If that does nothing try clearing the camera data too.

Same thing with video. I had read about clearing cache/data, so I tried that as well. Even tried factory reset. It seems this camera just cannot set focus at infinity. Used several other camera apps with the same result.
Same here .. Got a warranty replacement for my bricked G4 (boot loop failure) and the new phone has serious camera focus issues. Will not focus on infinity and even at short distances has grainy unfocused pics intermittently. My old G4 camera was amazing even at infinity on max 4.0 zoom super clear pics. This one not even close. Video is the same. Very disappointed. Maybe I need a new Camera module? Any advice would be helpful.
I feel like I need to see what sprint ir LG can find out but sure they will say it works fine but I know better. Arrg!
Hi there,
Did you get a solution for this problem? I have noticed the same situation, focus for close objects, macro, works amazing, but for far objects it's out of focus, I notices for stock and 3rd party apps. I've tried Google camera, Stock camera, LG G5 camera, LG V10 camera, Pro Shot, Camera FV-5, Open camera, this issue also happens for video. I start to suspect that issue it's hardware.
Any suggestions?

Camera stopped working

After my 5X installed the latest March update, I started to have problems with camera. I was able to use both cameras without problem, but then I installed Snapchat and now they don't work. When I first launch the camera app rear camera works OK but If I exit, It doesn't work again until reboot. It just shows a camera icon and after some wait it says "can't connect to camera" also I can see the red light from the focus sensor at the left of the rear lens. It just works all the time after I first launch the camera app. I think my camera doesn't shut and that's the reason of "can't connect to camera" error.
I tried factory reset but still have the problem.

[Android 9 Root] Front facing Camera can't take photos in other apps.

To start, I'm using stock ROM patched with Magisk. Root is fully working and all that jazz. This is quite a peculiar issue, I don't even know where to start. My A50 (W/Canada) is not able to use the front facing camera to take photos in any app other than the stock camera app. This is important to me as I use Snapchat and Instagram frequently. However, I am only unable to take photos with the front facing camera, videos still work perfectly fine, and the preview of the front facing camera also works perfectly fine. No issues with back camera, everything is fine there. I've tried launching Magisk as core only, and undone all my debloater settings. Every thread I see about camera issues said it's either a hardware issue (which I doubt is the case for me as the camera worked fine before root and still takes videos) or a software/kernel issue in which I should revert to stock. I would really prefer to find a solid solution to this rather than revert to stock, so I've come here hoping maybe somebody can possibly shed some light on something I may have missed out of frustration. The only thing I could think would possibly have an effect was the Magisk Samsung 4k60 Camera module which I uninstalled immediately after as it was crashing the camera app when I opened it. Could it have changed a file permanently?
To recap:
Front facing camera works perfectly as intended in stock camera app.
In any other app that uses Camera (including 3rd party camera HedgeCam) I am able to take videos but not photos.
Front facing camera preview always works fine.
Tried Magisk core only mode and reinstalled all debloated apps.
Snapchat gives error (when taking front facing photo) "Snap capture failed. Please try again." all other apps just freeze on (what would be) the photo/photo preview until I exit or switch out of the app then back in.
Any help is much appreciated, and I can share more information or logs if they'd help.

MIUI 12.5 - Camera stuck at 960x720?

After updating to MIUI 12.5 yesterday I've found the camera app can no longer take photos above 960x720 resolution, not matter which mode it is in, and from all lenses back and front. I've cleared the app data and restarted but the problem remains.
Video is unaffected, and a Gcam app works as expected.
Any ideas?
