Yeah it's nothing to be excited about to be honest. I don't even think you can scroll through channels like you can on the TV.

Well, I actually use the app on my TV sometimes. It's not completely terrible. But yeah, if I want to watch anything it usually isn't on TV.

I think it is only supposed to compatible with the S10's, Note 10's, S20's and Note 20's. I could not get it off of either store for my Tab s7+ but installed it with the apk and works just fine.

Loaded off the Galaxy Store on the 10+ Pie, works fine... it's the content and/or lack of that I didn't like.
Uninstalled after 5 minutes and I can still see it dancing in my head, what a mess
not in the playstore, its in the Galaxy app store

Weird. I have hulu plus on my Galaxy Nexus and it even works.
When was the last time you watched something on it?
It was available for the Nexus for a while after release but then it was pulled for some reason. I was under the impression that even if you still had it on your phone it would just tell you your device was not supported.

I stand corrected. I was sure I had watched something on it, but that must have been Netflix. My bad. You are correct that's exactly what it's doing on my phone.

+1 for HBO Go. With time warner getting hbo go in a couple weeks, it would be really nice to have it on my phone while I workout! I guess Il keep using netflix till something gets it figured out
I would like HBO as well and I think it's just a matter of time before we see hbo fix this for ics/nexus.

I was curious about the new google play movies even though I had a rooted device. I checked on the updated app on the play store and the newest user reviews were interesting. Some of them said that rentals are now working on their rooted device. Well I gave it a shot. Downloaded and installed the new app and blew 4 dollars on 21 Jump street. So far no warning about rooted users. Hit play and IT STARTED BUFFERING!
and then it gave me this error code... "couldn't fetch license (error -2)"
hit play agian and then it fetched me this error code..."couldn't fetch license (error -3)" and then it jumped this automatically... "This video's rental period has expired."
Tried again on a different movie... same exact thing. Blew 8 dollars just now and guess what... the new updated app HAS NO WARNING FOR NEW USERS ABOUT ROOT INCOMPATIBILITY! So is this another way for google to steal some side money from unsuspected users?
okay now i'm worried it is something to do with my end besides root. The user reviews on the play store have reviews from owners of rooted galaxy nexus and they say it works now on their device. I have a cdma verizon nexus with aokp 40 and franco kernel 196...

there are special hacks/edits to make it work(hides root). you can always rent it and watch it via youtube in your phones browser too, no need for anything special.
except after two attempts with the app it says my rental has expired... as in i just threw money away.

yup. if you tell them that you have root, and cant watch the rental, they will refund your money. this happened to me on the first day of google movies, they responded fast and refunded the money(i even watched the movie in the browser after i got the refund ).
okay still doesn't solve my problem on why other rooted galaxy nexus's can now play rentals on the new updated app and I can't. I just want to know if anyone else has tried the app after the update on their rooted device.
It's probably some bug in AOKP or your kernel...
Anyone know if purchasing movies works any different on rooted devices, I mean after all if you buy it its yours right??
You can use OTA rootkeeper to "unroot" . Try it out and it should work for you then.

I just watched an episode of house last night
JellyBean ROM, SuperSU, it ran fine with no problems/warnings.
They fixed it in the last update. Google no longer has a problem.
Besides, the movies are rentals. It's renting a DVD, not buying one in this case.
Wait, so rooted devices can now watch the movies they rent/buy from the Play Store?

it worked on my phone with Vicious Jelly Bean (toro, stock kernel) with the new movies app. And it was a tv show.
That's all i know, if you really want to find out, try renting something. The worst that happens it is wont work, then you message Google and they will give you a refund for it.
Why does the Need for Speed game link to a website with the date of Oct 30th? Are we not allowed to play it until that day? Makes no sense to me.

tmobile had no idea
Just got off the phone with tmobile level 2 support and they had no idea about the device coming preloaded with most wanted. He asked if I had receiced a free demo, but after explaining to hik that it was supposed to be preloaded and just not playable to launch date he said he had no idea and offered to give me samsungs number. Lame. I was really looking forward to playing this game without having to pay 7 bucks.
This is so lame. Thought at least a demo would be available for T-Mobile note 2 users.
now on the phone with ea
Ea seems to have no idea either. But im stilk waiting on the line so we will see. Up next is google play store.

Need for Speed game re-instal.
Need for Speed Most Wanted was supposed to come preloaded, but only came with a static web page stating it will be available today, 10/30/12. Has anyone been able to download it? It's still showing the same page. It is however available in the play store for 6.99. Needless to say I don't want to pay for it since it was supposed to be free for us Note II users.
Please share if you were able to download it. Thanks
FYI, the "preloaded" version will only allow you to play the first couple of levels. If you want the full game, you will still have to shell out the seven bucks.

My mistake, it was in an official press release from T-Mobile:
"Only T-Mobile Galaxy Note II customers will have access to an exciting new racing game preloaded on the device, which will include three free levels."

You may be right but I do not see any fine-print or reference in the ad.
I tried search their Terms of Service page for keywords "Demo" and "Level" and did not find anything related.
Ill check out Samsung Game hub and report back if it's there.
edit: Not there
3 level demo lol

I just bought it from the play store. Screw Tmobile.

Netflix is awesome but lately, I've just had my PC hooked up to my big screen via HDMI and used WIFI Mouse to control the PC with my phone. This way, you have access to anything on your PC and not just Netflix.
