Ever since I restore back to Sprint stock 5.0.2 ZVI my wifi keeps going into disabled mode. Once Wifi is enable it will go into disable status after 30 second to 1 minute. Whats odd is that if i enable airplane mode then i do not have this issue. Data is disabled or else i keep getting message about no lte connection. Factory reset been perform already and same issue.
It seems to only do this after I active the phone on Sprint network.

Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere? When I manually turn WiFi off when I get to work I'll look down some time later and the phone will have turned WiFi back on by itself. I'm not sure how long this takes, but so far I'm having no luck finding a setting that would affect this. I didn't have this problem on my EVO 4G, so does anyone have any idea why this is happening. I've got a Sprint S3, btw.
Sprint Connection Optimizer I think is causing your problem...not sure where the setting is since my 32Gb is lost in Sprint/Samsung Limbo, but look under network settings I think.
Settings> more settings>mobile networks>automatic connections> uncheck sprint automatic connections

Actually, I'll try that, but I think it may have actually been the "Network Notification" under the Wifi advanced settings. You can't change that setting when Wifi is off, but it remains checked if Wifi is manually turned off, so I wonder if there's a bug where Wifi will turn back on to to fulfill the network notification function.
So far, since turning that option off I haven't had the issue, but I'll keep an eye out. Either way, thanks for pointing out the Sprint Automatic Connections location, I couldn't find it to save my life. I'll leave it enabled for now, to see if the network notification setting actually fixes the issue.
Sprint Connections Optimizer
Here's a screenshot of how Sprint describes their Sprint Connections Optimizer. I wonder how much this monitors our use of WiFi Tether on rooted devices and reports it back to Sprint. Probably safer to leave unchecked until we know more from the developers on what it actually records and submits.
I'd love to see a thread on all the Sprint bloatware and which ones can be safely removed with Titanium Backup without disabling any major functionality like visual voice mail.
yea, i see this "solution" all over. it does not work, my optimizer is off, i go into menu with *#0011# and shut off wifi power mode. neither work, it just keeps coming on "while im driving" and kicks me off of my internet radio. any other suggestion im willing to try. i dont want to root this phone just to keep wifi off.
If you have any remembered wifi connections forget them so your phone can't auto connect and if the sprint optimizer connections has been disabled then it's weird that wifi keeps triggering. Because wifi shouldn't auto connect to found hotspots automatically.

Are you rooted? If so, use Titanium Backup to freeze the connection optimizer.
Hello, I am on a rooted stock Jelly Bean Telus ROM with default recovery (I flashed the rooted stock image through ODIN). Every now and then I will lose LTE even though I am in an LTE area. I try to do the trick of turning on airplane mode and turning it off to get the connection to reset. This actually doesn't do anything. HOWEVER, if I restart the phone, I get LTE back with 20 seconds. Once it restarts it can stay on LTE for a long time. Even when I get a call it'll go to 4G and then switch to LTE once I finish.
But here's the kicker. If after I restart it, get LTE, THEN switch to airplane mode and switch back, it will never, ever connect to LTE again. I have to restart the phone to get it back. I've just done a hard reset and the same problem occurs. This sounds completely ridiculous and I've tried everything. Has anyone heard of anything as absurd as this?

Had the exact same problem with a Telus rom, I dont suppose you're on ATT by any chance?. Mine wouldn't connect to the mobile data network when coming off a wifi connection and would just hang in limbo until i switch mobile data on and off. Dumped it and went to a ATT based rom, problem solved. One thing I noticed is that the APN options with the telus rom are different than ATT roms, the apn type in particular
Ask in Q&A or the sticky thread for LTE
Thanks
Hi All,
I am still lumbering on with an old HTC Desire running CM 7.07282011-Nightly and have had no real issues up until a couple of days ago.
Whilst in France (not that that make a lot of difference) the Wi-Fi access stopped working and the phone stopped being able to see any Wi-Fi networks. Basically, it switches itself off after around 30 seconds and cannot pick up any networks. In addiiton, the WiFi MAC address shows as unavailable although teathering via a WiFi hotspot works fine. I was switch between teather and normal Wi-Fi when the problem occurred.
If I go into Settings --> Wireless and Networks -->WiFi setting, then switch on the Wi-Fi, I get the "Turning on" message but then a Sorry warning saying "Application Settings (in process com.andriod.settings is not responding" and I can either "force a close" or "wait". If I wait, the Wi-Fi will simply switches itself off after about 30 seconds.
I did read in another post that this might be to do with the Wi-Fi sleep status but I tried all 3 options (from the menu in the Wi-Fi setting page) but that didn't do anything.
The issue appears to be that that phone has lost the Wi-Fi adaptors MAC address (says unavailable). However, I can still use Wireless Tethering and connect to to the phones WiFi hotspot. I think something has go screwy with the Wi-Fi tethering and Wi-Fi access (as I was switching between both when on my travels), but I need some help in trying to fix it.
Any Help Welcome
Chris
I tried updating to cm-7-20130301-NIGHTLY-bravo (whuch was the last release version), but still no joy.
Any help welcome
Well, after trying pretty much everything, I had to run a factory reset on the phone. Finally, my Wi-Fi is working again. Of course I now have the ball aching job of setting the phone up and re-installing all my apps again. Google restore is pretty rubbish
Looks like there must have been a config setting that got screwed somewhere. I did take a backup of the ROM and if anyone knows where this might be resolved, I wouldn't mind restoring.
I just upgraded my s3 to 4.4.2, and now, whenever I make a phone call, i see the network switch to 4g, instead of LTE, and data stops working. The only way I get data back is if I toggle airplane mode. Anyone else having this issue ?
Check your APN settings. If that don't do it do a factory reset.
On different (clean) stock roms, both mm and ll, data doesn't work when I leave my wifi's range. I have to toggle airplane mode to get it to work again. Tried "switch automatically" in wifi settings and "aggressive handover" in developer section. I found g2 and g3 owners with 6th same issue, but u don't find a proper solution, besides managing this using tasker. The issue appeared suddenly and persists on every rom I try. H815
Snap.
Have the same problem with mine.
It seems to eventually pick up data, but this could be anything from 5-30 minutes are leaving the WiFi connection.
Airplane mode on/off fixes it sometimes, but others I have restarted the phone with no change.
Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?
LG G4 H815.
Android 6.0.
Software version V20g-EUR-XX.
Same issue here, which started suddenly with no obvious reason.
Anyone?
