[QUESTION] Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T GPS - Redmi Note 8 Questions & Answers

Hello everyone,
I recently bought a Xiaomi redmi note 8T.
I bought it in belgium. I live in belgium. I have a belgian SIM card, and everything works fine.
Context :
I have put my second SIM car in it, which is a french SIM card.
This second SIM CARD is then using Roaming data. Which i allowed.
I want to use this one as i have more data on my plan than with the belgian one.
Problem :
I have limited access to internet.
I can send and receive messages on what'sapp & messenger for instance.
I can also find where i am on Maps & Waze
BUT i can't find a destination, nor calculate an itinary.
I can't use google or opera.
I found the option to setup to use one or the other SIM card for "Internet".
I also tried to connect to ALL belgian mobile networks with my french SIM card, all the same results.
I have added the speed so i can see i go above 10KB/s (and more when updating apps) with my belgian SIM card.
With my french SIM card, never above 2KB/s.
I deduce i have some limited access to the internet with my roaming french sim card.
However, i used to havemy french sim card on my HTC U11 (before it broke down / same configuration, using both SIM cards) working jsut perfectly fine.
Therefore i don't think it is from the belgian networks operators.
So i suppose i have this limit setup by Xiaomi... correct ?
Anyone has any idea how to fix this please ?
Many thanks for your time and your help !

It should be nice if you share this solution, so the answer for this question can be found by someone else that has this specific problem in a later stadium too.

Problems logging on to vodafone HSDPA

hi everyone..
can someone help?
i have a new sim card from a german provider (moobicent), who offer HSDPA flatrate using vodafone's network.
i insert the sim card in a normal nokia mobile phone, enter my PIN and the phone (as to be expected), logs into the vodafone network.
i insert the SIM into my HTC hermes (of course it's unlocked - it's also running the ROM TNT Pro 2), when i put in the PIN, the phone looks for network and after approx 300 seconds, i get the PIN screen again.
can anybody tell me why my Hermes won't logon to the network? (i have used all sorts of SIMS from various providers, never with any problems).
HELP!
thanks & regards.

SIM Cards on Samsung I780

Folks,
I have a Samsung i780 with a dual sim installed. each time I switch the SIM card by SW, all my mail accounts disapears. The switching by SW only does a reboot to phone module (not do device), but appears a message stating "SIM card changed, phone will be reinitialized) and then the mail account disapears.
Any clue on why this happens ? I believe there is a proprietary Samsung service running on WM6 that produces this behavior.
Any help will be appreciated.
Best Regards to all
How did you get 2 sim cards on the i780? what did you use to achieve that?

[Q] T-Mobile G2 on AU - Vodafone

Hi everyone,
i recently picked up a G2 on a US trip and am currently trying to set it up to work on the AU vodafone network.
i have gone through the sim "unlock" process, so it should be free to accept any sim card. (it also doesnt prompt me for an unlock code anymore, so im assuming it worked)
when i put the vodafone sim card in the phone, it detects the sim (there is the sim folder in the menu, with the vodafone sim options) and when i use "*#*#4636#*#* i see that there is something in the signal strength (-97dBm 8 asu).
BUT
when i goto settings ->wireless & networks -> mobile networks -> network operators i get an error saying "error while searching for networks"
any ideas?
Shouldn't this be in the G2 forum, not the DZ one ?
Thread moved to G2 General.
I am very interested to know how everything works out for you when you get it resolved.
Im moving to Melbourne from San Francisco in 3 weeks and I am on the fence if I should get a Iphone 4 or a HTC g2
*currently own a HTC Evo ..sadly i have to sell it

welcome to the club my friend
Unfortunately we have the same issue as you but we haven't find a solution yet. So far i have figured out that the phone after unlocking cannot read properly CID and MNCMCC codes from sim.

jee... sounds like the club to be in
5 days now i am trying for a solution. So far nothing to say. Just that users with same problem increase day by day. This might be good as htc will have to pay attention.
i dont know if its me, or if anyone else has noticed this, but if you change the band (auto - USA - Euro - Japan - Aus - Aus2)
then go and try to search for networks, the speed that the error comes up is different... its always the same error though....

You are right about that.
hi, i guess i need to join this club .. any progress for the solution?
I'm using a G2 on Vodafone AU and having no problems at all ...
If I click search networks it sort of just stops immediately with VodafoneAU down the bottom.
The one issue I'm having is that numbers are formatted for US ... anyone know how I change this?
I'm not sure if this is a real long-shot but I had some strange problems with my old Vodafone sim in a HTC Magic. I ended up just going into a Vodafone store and asking for a new SIM and the problems vanished immediately. They give you a new SIM on the spot free so it may be worth a try?
Is your phone working unlocked with the tmobile sim? If it isn't you're got the problem a lot of people have been having with unlocking the G2.
Otherwise, try rebooting your phone with your AU sim search for networks automatically and enter your APN settings. Alternatively if it doesnt find networks, go to Vodafone to get a new sim card. I'm also on Vodafone and I'm not having any problems with my current Tmobile Phone (Cliq) and G2 coming in the mail
Fixed by rooting and gfree
Hi! I had this exact same problem: unlocked a T-mobile G2 bought in the US so that I could use it on Greece's Vodaphone network. After unlocking and trying to check for networks, it would just say "Error while searching for networks".
Solution: I found the solution here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=HTC_Vision#Subsidy_Unlock.2C_SuperCID.2C_and_Radio_S-OFF which describes an extra security measure that was taken on these phones and why you get this error because of it. The fix, described in detail on that page, involves routing your phone and then running a program to change this security "feature".
I followed the directions on that wiki page and it worked perfectly! It now connects to my vodaphone network here, and can see other networks that are around.
Note that as this is altering the software on your phone, it probably voids any warranty. But, I'll say with my US t-mobile G2 it worked very smoothly.
Hope this gives some insight to any others having this problem!

I have been using that SIM card on iPhones of all generations, Samsungs of many kinds, Xperias, you name it. Never got any issue but ok I´ll try just to make sure...And no, same problem with diferent SIM (from the same company though)
Funny thing I tried with one from Orange and WIFI is working ok. Anyone knows what is causing this?
This **** happen sometimes, but i don't remember what causing it, whether it's the radio firmware or something else
Try to read in other forums like the S3, this problem is well known and you may get an answer.
If you do have an update, do it.
Best regards

There is a wifi issue forum.
I am not sure if it's related to your problem but have a look.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
same problem with wifi on cubacel sim card
I also have the same problem with no wifi after inserted cubacel sim card.
I had tried to my first SGH-I317 (from Canada) and the 2nd SGH-T 889 (from T-mobile US). both even cannot scan any wifi after I inserted cubacel. But after I insert an UK number and reset the phone, it works fine. the redicilous this is, after I change again with cubacel sim card, the wifi signal suddently dissapear.
I also have a lenovo android phone that I bought in Indonesia, it works fine with wifi on cubacel simcard.
Something wierd in this case..
I hope anyone have solution

Hey newmucha,
Here is a xda-developers thread that gives you a possible solution to your problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21406675
I installed the app, turned off wifi power saving mode in *#0011# and after that never had the same problem again. It seems that certain providers, CUBACEL in my case, have their SIM cards country code wrongly configured and this causes the wifi to crash.
Hope this helps!
Hi i have the same issue of wifi not working on local sim (Pakistan) and this software Wififix manager works on ICS only... I have At&t HTC ONE X + does anyone have any idea which software to use on JB 4.1.1? BTW i m rooted and using ViperXL 2.0.0 Rom.

Issues with sim2 on s HTC one M8 dual sim

Hello
I hope this is the right place to ask and I feel at this point I have been searching Google dry over the past week.
I have a HTC one m8 with dual SIM, as I live in Sweden and work in Denmark, I have a Swedish tre.se in SIM1 and then a Danish 3.dk in SIM2
While I'm in Denmark, both SIM card works and connects to their network, but the second I enter Sweden, SIM2 won't find a connection.
I tried to switch the two cards, but then it's just the Swedish card in SIM2 that won't connect.
From what I have been able to Google , SIM2 should only be using 2g network, but this should be a problem for either of the subscriptions as far as I know.
Is there some special trick, setting or some I need to do to make it connect to 2g
It is original OS on it. I unfortunately can't root it, as my company mail will detect it and block my access. (Worx home by Citrix + touchdown)
What I have tested so far:
Factory reset of the phone.
New SIM card for both cards.
Activate and deactivate flight mode.
Deactivate and activate each SIM from the dual SIM manager.
Switch cards in slots (1->2 and 2->1).
Disable SIM1 ( SIM 2 still didn't connect)
I have also contacted each phone company, but they were to no use and just said it should work hehe
Any suggestions or ideas ? I'm open to all suggestions that doesn't involve getting another phone
Also this is not one of the cheap Chinese dual SIM versions.
Thanks
I may have managed to get a little closer to the cause.
It seems that SIM2 is actually only running over GSM / 2G for god knows what reason, and that is not supported by my phone company i Sweden, which is why it only works in Denmark.
I will try with another phone company called TDC and see if they have the same issues over there or else its bye bye useless dual sim
