[Q] Tough question: sound types

Here's a tough question - not necessarily difficult to answer, but difficult to ask correctly.
Is there any possibility to change the "sound type" of a particular program without actually having access to the program source code (e.g. via an external application/setting)?
By "sound type" I mean the value which is shown when you use the side volume keys while the program is running. E.g. when playing music and you use the vol+/-, it will display "Media volume", when in the Home screen and you use the vol+/- it will say "Ringer volume" etc.
I'm using the Desire as my main in-car device. The sound goes over Bluetooth to a Motorola T505 handsfree/FM transmitter and from that one to the car radio via FM (yes, old car radio, no built-in Bluetooth).
The reason for which I need to change the sound type is because if they sound types are different, they can be adjusted independently - i.e. music volume to 50% and ringer volume to 30%, so that I don't get a heart attack when the phone rings.
The problem is that my navigation software (iGo Amigo) and HTC Media player both seem to use the "Media volume" designation for their sound output, so I cannot adjust them separately. This results either in listening to a very loud navigation or to low volume music. Other navigation software have their sound type as "Alert volume", so they can be set separately.
Any idea how/if this can be changed somehow? The Desire is completely stock, unbranded, running 2.2 and the latest OTA updates.
Thanks!

does igo not have an internal volume adjustment? i know copoilot does, so i can set my media volume to full and then adjust the actual volume level off the app independently
None that I could find, it seems to be stuck with some default values (iGo MyWay 2009).
Wondering if in Android there's an iGo configuration file similar to sys.txt on WinMo... might be able to set it there.

[Question] Board Computer settings are missing

Hi,
has anyone experience with retaining GID/CID controls with RK3188 replaced original car stereo? More specifically I'm interested in Opel
Zafira GID. Currently GID controls can be accessed only from SETTINGS button on radio panel. BC menu can be accessed additionally from steering wheel buttons, but not Settings menu. If head unit has no implementation for accessing board computer settings menu, as it is done with Dynavin for example, then settings control will be lost.
Has anyone bump on this problem with RK3188 specific car head units?
did you configure factory settings and enable CAN-BUS?

Subwoofer control after upgrading MCU.

Hello,
My headunit had MCU GS 2.78 what was giving me a bug, somethimes when starting the unit fm radio started at load noise and I had to restart.
After updating the MCU the bug was gone but I noticed that I had no control of the subwoofer, looks like it is controled by other bass controls but sliding sub control does nothing.
Downgrading back to MCU GS 2.78 give me back sub control.
I tried diverent MCU and now i,m on MCU GS 3.07.
Anybody knows why the sub control is not working above 2.78???
Or do I need special MCU because of build in DSP?

Hello Diablo-2u,
GS 2.84.1 will fix your issues and retain the sub woofer controls. I had the same issues with my unit in the beginning.
Cheers
Hello, I cannot control my subwoofer level in the equalizer app. I have a mtce lm v3.43 unit with integrated dedicated DSP (ADAU1401).
I already upgraded to hal9k V4 with the new DSP EQ app but even there I don't have the possibility to control or even mute my subwoofer channel.
Any experiences on that?
Thanks guys

I have Isudar H53 it also has built in DSP. Only the filter can be adjusted on the sub out. The SubgainL and SubgainR not works, the output signal smaller than the 4chs. The output voltage and volume value is strange.
volume 0 > sub output 0V
volume 1 > sub output 300mV
increased the volume to 17 the sub output is till 300mV
Volume over 18 the sub out voltage begin to increase.

Xtrons PB78TRVP - VW

Hello everyone,
I have two questions regarding my head unit looking for your help.
I've been using the head unit XTRONS PB78TRVP for almost one year on my VW and since new I have been noticing that I am unable to control the audio volume balanced with all the apps, specially while using the radio.
The issue is that while using broadcast radio, the audio volume is too high, not balanced with the rest of the multitasking applications running in parallel.
As an example, if the audio volume while playing a radio station is set two 4, the GPS application volume when pops an audio message can't be heard as the GPS application message is very low, even if the music from the radio is temperarly muted while audio played from GPS is being heard.
This behaviour is the same independent from what GPS application is being used.
Remembering that this is happening only when using the radio as if the music is being played from an MP3 list or CD/DVD, the audi volume is balanced with the rest of the applications (including phone).
This head unit has currently installed Android 8.0. Is it possible to be upgraded?
Thanks in advanced.
Hello,
Isn't there anyone capable to help me?
Thanks

Hi. I have the same unit. Go to settings, Car setting, Factory settings and type 126 for the pin. This will take you to hidden settings where levels can be adjusted.

Kunfine PX6 MTCE HU Radio very loud

Hi anyone know how can I adjust the individual volume of the various source? My Radio is very loud even at volume 1 but the rest of the sources like Music and Video is fine. Please advice.
