Hey there! I know that very few people still have this 2012-era device, and that the stock ROM is (like most low-end devices at the moment) sluggish and REALLY laggy.
As I'm going to sell the device, just wanted to publish he port I've made!
What does work
Wi-Fi
Camera
Sound & Microphone
Graphic acceleration
USB
Sensors
Sd card
What doesn't work
RIL (SIM and such)
Bluetooth

TWRP for restoring the ROM (flashable through Odin/Heimdall)
The ROM backup in zip format (DON'T FLASH IT)
READ THIS:
This ROM is a port of the original CM11 built for the Fame by wulsic.
This ROM isn't a common flashable ZIP, as the patches I did in order to make it work were applied in the system itself. It may be possible to make a flashable zip form this, but meanwhile I will publish it as a TWRP backup.
PLEASE INSTALL TWRP BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE, without it you can't restore the ROM backup.
The ROM is in Spanish language by default, so to set it back to English go to Settings icon at launcher, then the "Idioma e introducción de texto" section, tap "Idioma" and select English.
The ROM includes some gapps (as they need to be modified in order to work nicely)., If I need to remove them please contact me!
ADDED THINGS
Xposed Framework installed and running
GravityBox
XuiMod
Service Disabler (for making google play services usable on low end devices like this)
At developer settings, some options are enabled by me (like Show touches or Stay awake while USB connected). Disable them if you want.
The ROM includes Xposed just for some animations and GravityBox, you can disable most things at their respective modules (for animations disable XuiMod and for quick action tweaks and RAM bar in recents disable GravityBox). Those mods seemed to produce almost no lag so I did keep them.
HOW TO INSTALL THIS BACKUP
As I've said before, this ROM is a TWRP backup, so in order to install (restore) it you need to do the following steps:
Unzip the file and put the 4204134ec2ea3100 folder at /emmc/TWRP/BACKUPS (if BACKUPS folder doesn't exist create it) so the path looks like /emmc/TWRP/BACKUPS/4204134ec2ea3100/
Go to TWRP's main menu, select Restore and select the cm11-nevisvess-backup entry.
Iif it asks you for which partition restore, select ALL of them. They all are important (without data the system may not boot cause of xposed, for example).
After restoring everything, restart the phone. It should boot and you will get to the unlock screen (system done)

You can just check the opengapps package for APK file names, and delete them from /system/app or /system/priv-app.
Yes, the libraries will stay here but they can´t do much without the apps that manage them.
Anyway, I don't have the phone anymore, else I would upload such a modified version! Sorry

The OpenGApps package weighs a lot (100 KBps download speed by the way).
Can I use something like this instead? https://github.com/ANDROID2468/Remove-Gapps
EDIT: TWRP boots, but the touchscreen does not work. My device is GT-S6790L. Is that the reason why it does not work?
I thought this was a regular ROM, and I do not know where to get the original recovery ROM now.
EDIT 2: This guy's stock recovery worked. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/q-galaxy-fame-lite-cwm-twrp.2779754/ God knows if this does something bad on the phone, but it seems to be exactly the same.

Strange, mine was also a 6790L and it worked just fine. Did you change the touchscreen at any time? (It should work anyway).

I do not know if people changed the smartphone's touchscreen. It is an old smartphone from my grandma I am trying to fix (bootloop, I am privacy-conscious).
We live in Venezuela, so I think our stock ROM is the NBS (South American).
I would really like this ROM to be repackaged into a flashable ZIP, though. That would be so awesome.

Sorry, as said I dont have the device anymore so I can't try doing so, however you should be able to install the ROM via ADB (using the console and ADB). Send me a PM for more details if you want to follow this way.

I thought about it more carefully. I may or may not have accidentally discovered that the thing has the touchscreen broken.
I think it will be pretty complicated and time consuming for me to manually remove the GApps by myself and will probably regret the results if I accidentally delete stuff.
Does anybody have a debloated (includes degoogling) version of this ROM? This is giving me a headache. Almost literally, the back of my eyes hurt.

I am new to Z1, but have a lot of experience developing for Xperia ION.
Let me introduce to you my new rom, which is based on Cyanogenmod 11/KitKat 4.4 and DarkCm Projects. The rom was built on October 18 from latest sources.
MAIN AND UNIQUE CHARASTERISTCS:
1. Hardened Kernel with the following features:
a. Selinux disabled (don't trust them) and APPARMOR enabled as main security
b. All crypto core features enabled
c. All authenticated encryption modes enabled - CCM, GCM and SEQIV
d. All blocks enabled - CBC, CTR, CTS, ESB, LRW, PCBC and XTS
e. All hash modes enabled including SHA512 and others
f. All ciphers enabled including CAMELIA, TWOFIS, ANUBIS, SALSA20 and others
g. Compression - DEFLATE, ZLIB and LZO
h. Random number generation all options enabled to result in a better generation without CPU wakeups
2. Newest Sony proprietary blobs (published just several days ago) included
The rom feels fluid and smooth.
By the way, the boot image (kernel + CWM recovery) that is inside the zip file could be used with any CM11 rom, as long as your custom rom does not feature any non standard kernel modules...
CREDIT: Cyanogenmod, AOSP, Slimkat and DarkCM team. Especially big thanks to DarkCM team as most customizations were forked from their repositories
WARNINGS:
I am not responsible for your device becoming a paperweight. I am also not responsible for death and destruction caused by your flashing this rom on your device. You are at your own perill. Complain to Putin - he will surely help.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Unlocked Bootloader
2. If you have CWM, go to mounts and storage and wipe System/Cache/Data
3. If you have TWRP, go to advanced wipe and wipe System/Cache/Data
4. Flash the rom and reboot.
5. I recommend that you delete Cyanogenmod original animation as it slows down the boot significantly: without it your boot should take about 25 seconds. Once you remove bootanimation.zip in /syste/media, you will have a nice vanilla android bootanimation.
6. Enjoy the rom and hit Thank You or perhaps Donate?
P.S. Rom is in Download Section above

Just look at download page. I haven't put in kernel changes online yet, because unfortunately the regular linux .config file is hidden in multiple files in android and only generated during the build. So, to save time, I tricked the "brunch honami" script by inserting my .config file during build.

You mean you could not restore data with CWM? That's not recommended, as it could lead to instability. You should use Titanium to restore apps, as opposed to restoring the whole data partition with CWM.
starting point: DarkCM v7
backup DarkCM v7 with CWM
then full wipe
Tested Black Argon CM11
wanted DarkCM of backup restore with CWM
SD card not found
DarkCM boot.img flashed
Recognized SD card in CWM
restored DarkCM v7 form Sd card
???

I don't have this problem. There were no changes in cwm, as compared with DarkCM. I can see both cards in CWM. I generally don't like CWM. Will try to get TWRP in next release.

Hello S3 neo owners! I've just deodexed the I9300IXWUBNJ1_I9300IOXEBNJ1 4.4.4 Stock firmware of the Galaxy S3 Neo Duos (GT-I9300I) and after did some tests, I bring it to you Hope you use it for good and if you make a rom or something with it, please share!
NOTE: You must be on the Stock 4.4.4 KitKat firmware in your S3 Neo and have Rox's CWM installed to flash this correctly, if you are on a 4.3 ROM or CM, your phone won't boot the OS and you will need to reflash.
NOTE: I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this file before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you...muahahahaha
Features
Completely stock apps, all deodexed (/app, /priv-app and /framework).
You win around 300 MB of free space in your smartphone after flashing this, because the zip file deletes all the .odex files and installs the deodexed apps without problems
After flashing this, you can install mods in your S3 Neo without fc's or random reboots caused by the annoying .odex files.
How to flash this?
1) Put the file in your internal or external SD Card (it gives the same)
2) Reboot into CWM Recovery (NOT OTHER, Thanks Rox for CWM )
3) Install the .zip file through CWM (Install zip/choose zip from sdcard or internal sdcard/select I9300IXWUBNJ1 Deodexed Apps.zip and yes)
DOWNLOAD HERE! --------> I9300IXWUBNJ1 Deodexed Apps.zip
That's all you need to know about this, and thanks to @Rox for CWM, @spawk for the I9301I deodexed apps and @zigbye82 for sharing the tool I've used to do this. Cheers!.

Hello.
How did you achieve the size of just 350 MB ? While I deodexed i9301l rom, the single sim variant and have even removed bloatware, my zip size is around 1 GB.
Let me know please. So maybe I can upload that and share that stock rom.

In french only for you:
Je peux te garantir que tu seras satisfait, notamment concernant la 4G qui marche nickel et la langue francaise est vraiment bien integrer.
Je l'utilise actuellement, le seul petit souci concernant la methode de verrouillage (PIN, schema, mot de passe) qui ne fonctionne pas sur l'ecran de verrouillage. Il suffit de laisser sur "balayage". Pour tout le reste, c'est zero defaut. Tu peux tester sans souci.
thx for the reply i won't use french to answer thou since we're on a us forum.
i have no problem with 4G on freemobile and i don't use any lockscreen so for now i don't see why i would change to this one.
thx anyway

Don' take care about md5 checksum, it's flashing correctly.
Flash process is about 10mins and 1st boot is about 5mins, like other MM roms (alekos, dallascz).

MIUI includes various features such as theming support

Installation
1. Boot into TWRP recovery
2. Wipe Data, Cache & Dalvik
3. Flash the ROM.
4. Reboot.
It has a little bug with battery drain, but you can solve it by doing this:
1.- Enable developer settings by pressing Miui version.
2.- Go to Additional settings>Developer options.
3.- Disable MIUI optimization at the bottom, reboot and re-enable it and reboot.
With this trick you will have a lot better battery life.

Thanks, just tested the BT and it works great in my car. I tried to do the MIUI Optimalization trick but the option does not seem available in the additional settings. Have you guys been able to find it? Seems like there are no developer options at all.
good job !
thanks

It's just the best Rom that exists for Nubia z17.
Thank you so much for your work. I say that after having tested almost all available roms :good:
First day usage results
So after my first day of use, here a small report of my findings:
- Bluetooth is working perfect, maybe even better than the ROM the Geekbuying Z17 version shipped with
- The speed of the phone is insane on this ROM, all animations are super smooth. As addition to that, the AnTuTu score of my device went up from 160.000 to 210.000. Thats an absolutely insane improvement. Guess the other ROM was full of bloat ware
- The touch screen is a little too sensitive on the edges on this ROM. Often I find myself accidentally activate apps or buttons. The most practical fix is to hold the phone in a different way. But maybe a setting for this available or a flashable zip?
- Most apps i install complain about wanting rights for NFC, my guess this is related to the NFC being bugged at this time. Still would be nice if we can somehow suppress this rights request.
- I have not find any clues of this ROM draining the battery. I lost only 2% after a complete night of sleep.
So overall I can say I'm amazed by your work Arceoxis! Still a few small things to fix, but for day to day use I think this ROM can be the game changer.
gapps? btaudio_patch?
Is this rom gapps included? I guess it will be necesary to flash it, in that case is Android 7.0 or 7.1?
Has the btaudio_patch to be flashed after flashing the rom?
Thanks

experiencia con la rom
24h with Miui 9 and everything is perfect, the best one I have had in the phone.
Estaba un poco harto del teléfono después de 6 meses, había tenido distintas roms y ninguna terminaba de estar completamente a gusto como ésta. Un detalle, es la única que puedes apagar el móvil y se enciende solo al programar la alarma, tal como la rom original.
This is a Odin-flashable custom ROM for the S20 FE 5G (SM-G781B) by @fivanbe.
For now, this is just a base ROM without any significant mods or addons.
Installation instructions:
1. Download official U4CUH1 firmware from Samsung. I used the tool "Frija". Or from this website.
2. Download custom ROM SDRAGON_S20FE-R_U4CUH1_v1.1.zip.
3. Decompress SDRAGON_S20FE-R_U4CUH1_v1.1.zip, and copy the files SDRAGON_MODS-CSC .zip and SDRAGON_MOD-CSC-MULTIACTION.zip to your phones internal memory, not sd-card. If you want root, also copy magisk.apk to the same destination.
4. Put your phone into download mode. To do this, power off the phone. Press and hold vol+ and vol-. Now plug in the USB cable in your phone. When in download mode, press vol+ to continue in download mode.
5. Flash official U4CUH1 firmware with Odin.
Put BL in BL
Put AP in AP
Put CP in CP
Put HOME_CSC in CSC (this is important, otherwise you will lose data if you put CSC in CSC. Always use HOME_CSC)
In Odin options, uncheck "Auto Reboot".
6. Without restarting the phone, flash AP_SDRAGON_S20FE-R_U4CUH1_v1.1.tar and CSC_SDRAGON_S20FE-R_U4CUH1_v1.1.tar with Odin.
7. Reboot your phone into TWRP. To do this, restart your phone from download mode with vol- and power button. Immediately press and hold vol+ and power button to boot into TWRP.
8. Flash SDRAGON_MOD-CSC-MULTIACTION.zip and SDRAGON_MODS-CSC .zip. Optional flash magisk.apk for root.
9. Reboot
This ROM uses Samsung stock kernel source.
This ROM was developed, because I donated a phone to the developer.
this could be (should be) in kernels roms and recoveries. the right has been earned.
and congrats!!
EDIT: out of curiosity what region is U4CUH1 ?
EDIT 2: there's a subreddit called r/GalaxyS20FE maybe post a link to this in there too. I was gonna do it myself but it's you that made this happen so that honor should be yours too.
So if this is U4, doesn't that re-lock the bootloader if previously unlocked?.....nevermind its B....sorry.
I'm not the developer of this ROM, so a mod moved this thread from "kernels roms and recoveries" to here. Those are the XDA rules.
The region stays the same.
As far as I know, you cannot downgrade from U4 to U3 or below.
Ubimo said:

Pour autant que je sache, vous ne pouvez pas rétrograder de U4 à U3 ou en dessous.

Awesome work, couple quick questions how long has this been tested? Is it stable enough for daily use? Dose it include magisk or do people need to install it themselves
@Full House
Which magisk modules are you using?
This is a base stock rom. I'm running it since yesterday without problems.

for the power menu it's an Xposed module here

And for network speed and call recording it's a "DecodecCSC" magisk module from @ Morphée here is the zip to flash in Magisk reboot and enjoy.
If I understood correctly @fivanbe's ROM is not yet fully finished?
Don't wanna be negative or anything like that but from what I have read and quote me if I'm wrong on this ... is this just an official firmware from Samsung? You clam to have some tweaks done but are not working??? There's no real structure to your post stating changelog, screens or even if it's stable to use??? Personally I'm gonna hold off until I see some proper details about this rom and some actual progress...I'm not chancing anything nowadays especially with a phone that I use on a day to day basis
@Ubimo I've read this guide a couple of times with thought to flashing GSIs from PC.
maybe it could be of use to @fivanbe in packaging the rom so even non TWRP users can try this rom out...

Read the Op and his subsequent posts fella, Ubimo is not the dev. He donated an S20FE to the dev to get a custom ROM developed. But if you want to want for the dev to post in the ROM forum that's your prerogative.

Look I'm not saying this to be an ass or anything like that it just needs more structure dev or not...if I wasn't the dev I would of setup this post properly with changelog some screens and make it look nice you don't have to be a dev to do that.. and it's based on the official samsung rom hmm interesting so what about those tweaks that were suppose to work from the get go? I can add those exact tweaks through magisk and xposed.. it's throwing alot of red flags for me and so many questions so I'm just gonna wait for some progress before I touch this..I've been in the custom rom game since my galaxy s5..

the only reason this ''rom'' exists is because @Ubimo donated a phone to whoever would produce the rom he wanted, which was OneUI based.
I won't say anyone has been dishonest, maybe it was a tougher task than the dev anticipated or personal life time pressure meant it was difficult to get work done on it.
I will say I don't think Ubimo got his monies worth and maybe the phone should morally get given back. more so if the dev doesn't want to stand behind his work and even comment in this thread.
if the phone was in the hands of someone like Andy Yan or Phhusson we'd have amazing GSI roms fully working for this phone and real buzz going in this tragic forum.

This seems like the stock rom was just repacked into different segments and given out as a custom rom to flash. I really think this is a joke as a rom and the person who donated the phone towards development, i just feel sorry for them.
Update:
@fivanbe now starts working on the custom ROM and hopes to publish this ROM in a few days.
