Hello,
I want to sell my Redmi Note 8 in my family. It is on the actual rom of Xiaomi.eu (20.9.3).
What should I do to delete all my personal data before?
Just Factory Reset your Phone by going to Settings.

Hi, my oneplus 3 has been really laggy and slow after updates and a year of use. After looking into solutions, factory resets and custom roms seemed to fixed these problems.
My oneplus is rooted and I've got lots of data (the apps, my note pad and my precious photos.) I know I can just reinstall it or restart my photos from google photos (but it's got no mass download so it's gonna be a pain restoring it all.)
So I'm just asking for a Good custom rom to install for OnePlus 3 without losing any data and my root. Thanks! :fingers-crossed:

You need not lose anything if you follow the advice given for flashing custom ROMS. Choose the ROM, go through the instructions, read atleast the last couple of pages of the thread (more if possible) and flash the ROM.
As to what is good, each person's requirements differ, so the best thing would be to choose a few ROMs based on the features you want, read their threads and choose. You can flash a different ROM if the chosen one doesn't perform according to your requirements.
Instead of factory resetting, try a clean flash of OOS 5.0.1 itself first.

Currently I'm using z- unleashed and for 8.1 oreo it is the most stable and smooth rom and talking about your data your internal memory will be safe and use titanium backup to backup apps.
Hello,
Couple of months back I purchased a Mi Note 5 Pro (4GB/64GB) for my mother. Being a senior citizen, as expected, the phone ended up messed up (softwarely) within a month or so. I tried to clean things but found she fell victim to so much fishing that phone was running dead slow and full of bloatware !!
So went for a factory reset (bone stock MiUi Indian 9.5.xx) to start fresh and there was the surprise. Phone is stuck at setup screen as it is asking for Mi Account credential. My mother is unable to remember what she has done with this Mi Account thing so I am unable to enter any details.
I have tried to do a hard reset but there too the same.
How do I get around this issue ?
Anyway I can clean flash MiUi Firmware to erase this and bring the device back to normal ? I did some Searching and a third party website suggesting a very complicated solution for this same issue, here is the link, not sure if that is the right way to try.
Any help ?
Thanks.
Try formatting internal and then flash a rom.

hi all, I am planning to buy a Huawei mate 20 X and thought you all will be able to help to clear my doubts. As I know there are ways to get the personal data back even after a factory reset. I have read and tried data recovery softwares to recover files from SD card. As I know, in apple devices, if you factory resets, there is no way of getting your old data back without backups from icloud or itunes. That is a very good option if you are selling your used device so no one can take your personal data. I am planning to sell my device also after some time to upgrade. Is there a way to delete everything permanently in the mobile (factory reset) which no one can recover again? Even after a factory reset, i heard there are 3rd party softwares for Andriod based devices to recover data without any backups. I am a samsung user and planning to move to Mate 20 X. Please help me. Thank you in advance.
I had been using the redmi note 5 for years. I rooted it with god knows what method and installed a bunch of pirated apps on it. I put twrp on it and changed the rom to pixel experience. Now I want to return the phone back to factory and use it for financial activities. So I need this phone to be 100% secure. I have put the redmi note 5 global rom on it. I downloaded the rom from the mi website so I know that's secure. I still feel iffy about this phone though. How do I ensure that it's 100% secure now? If this was windows I can but android is a mystery to me.
Hi all,
I am hoping to get some help from you all. My son owns Redmi Nore 8 Pro 6/128 purchased from online mi shop here in UK (I have a proof of purchase if needed). Recently it started playing around with some apps and I decided to Factory Reset it. He created a mi account and of course forgot the password. Knowing little about Redmi's security measures I decided to wipe it from the recovery level (remembered some basic stuff from my time when I was flashing my Xperia Arc). Unfortunately the phone now boots into a lock screen on wehich I am stuck. Here is what I ahve tried:
1. Reset password on mi cloud, used the new password to unlocke the phone but the phone is not accepting it
2. Removed Note 8 Pro from mi cloud, wipe it again - still not accepting the password and showing the locked screen,
3. I used the recovery code on i.mi.com but I ahve note heard back from anyone for a wekk now.
Regards

You need to choose option 2 and connect your wifi. Then use option 1 to login your Xiaomi account.
If everything you did and nothing change, you can start thinking about using custom rom (Even if your device still in lock status, just need for more skill)
You can also buy/hire to bypass Mi Account from shop. But Miui version can't be change or update or reset,... Or else it will be locked again
You can skip the hassle and custom rom it just unlock the bootloader from mtk bootloader unlock flash a custom twrp recovery from fastboot and install a rom, much debloated than stock anyways. I recommend crdroid by timjosten if you still would like stock reply and maybe we can figure out a solution
