I don't know if anyone else is having this problem but my touch pro 2 has the tendency to stay lit after a text message. It can get very annoying because if I get a text message in the middle of the night it stays lit all night until I find it in the morning. This only occurs sometimes and is usually fixed with a reboot.
Under settings > Power> I have my backlight and "turn off device" everything set to 1 min. Does anyone know a fix to this problem? Thanks
That's weird. Take a look at your sound and notification settings.
My screen doesn't turn on when I get a text message, I just hear the sound and the light up top flashes.
can you please tell me what you have checked under notifications and sound?
i would love for it to just play a sound instead of having the screen light up thanks!
You might need to disable wake up on new sms thingy.
I was recently going through the phone's settings menu, and in sound and display there is a section called pulse notification light which according to the description, pulses LED light repeatedly for new notifications. I have this checked to do this, but I have never seen the LED pulse for any notifications, whether it be incoming calls, sms, or email. I have checked and unchecked it, rebooted the phone, but to no avail I see no pulse notification.
Am I missing something here?
My phone is totally stock for the OS, and applications.
The notification LED light only blinks if the screen is off and if the notification LED light setting is enabled within their respective applications.
The screen is off, and I don't see any setting within the default messaging app, or the gmail app that says anything about LED notifications. I don't think that is very smart for a smartphone. I hate the phone vibrating while sitting on my desk, I would rather have the LED flashing to notify me of new messages, and/or email.
I'm sorry, there is no LED notification in the settings, bad memory LOL. The LED should work as long as Notifications is checked, although it may be defective, like blinking 5 times when you first receive an email or message, and then blinks sporadically afterwards. A fix is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11292197&postcount=4
It could very well be the case that your LED light is not working and you should go to a repair center to get it checked out.
When I get a calendar notification my screen turns on and when its in my pocket it stays on. How do I stop this? A notification sound only would be fine.
i'm assuming you're on stock and using the stock calendar. unfortunately the only way to turn that off is by ticking notifications off in the notification settings. by doing this it turns off ALL (ringtone, vibrate, icon in status bar) of your notifications.
you could look into a 3rd party calendar app and see if this is an issue.
Simply lower your screen timeout time.
I have a GS6 edge, and it has an annoying "feature" - the screen turn on every time I get an SMS, there is a reminder about an event from my calendar.. and every other notification, basically.
I could find a setting "do not display content" under "notifications" in the settings, but now the screen just light up - with no notification on the lock screen.
Does anyone have any idea how to make the screen stay off (and just make the sound \ light up the notification LED)? :crying:
It may be your "Ambient Display" setting. I installed CM13 on my M8 the other day and noticed that every time I would receive a notification my screen would wake up... I searched everywhere on my phone and even set my email app to "no peeking," whatever that is? Anyways, after Googling the mess out of this I found that the issue was the Ambient Display setting which is under Display settings. Simply turn this off and Boom goes the dynamite. My issue has been solved... Maybe you have already figured this out by now as you posted your question months ago but maybe someone else will stumble across this with the same issue and be like.... yassssss
Is it possible to turn on cinema mode and get notifications?
I can not find battery stats in Android wear app. Can you tell me where it is?
Open the Android Wear App.
Click on the cogwheel, upper righthand corner, not the 3 dots.
Click on "SmartWatch 3" under "Device settings".
Click on "watch battery" and you get the battery stats.
As I understand it you still get messages when Cinema mode is turned on you just don't get any visible/audible(no loudspeaker on the SW3 but vibration is audible too) notifications. That setting is specifically there so your Smartwatch won't turn on the display lighting and make any sound while you are in a cinema or other sensitive area where light and sound would be disturbing.
Side benefit, it won't react to touches on the display and it also won't turn on the display lights accidentaly when you move your wrist in a way that would make your watch think you want to interact with it. You can however turn the screen on by pushing the hardware button to check if any new messages have arrived.
Haven't tried cinema mode for myself yet, though, so no guarantee on the "still receiving messages" part.
Would be nice to just turn on vibration without having the display light up. I would use that but since that option doesn't exist I just turned of the wrist movement thing. My watch lights up and vibrates, when I get a message which is OK to me since that's what I have a smartwatch for but it doesn't drain the battery from always turning on accidentally just because it detects wrist movement which happened a lot before I turned that option off.
You can use app "Feel the wear" you can have vibration and also screen light if you would. So in Cinema mode you have vibration to know notification and if you choose light on the screen, you can also see the notification if you flick your wrist while screen is on
