Hello.
I have a G988b with latest firmware installed. No root, everything is stock.
In settings-->apps I have serveral disabled apps that i am not able to reactivate.
The apps are "Tipps", "AR-Zone" and "AR-Zeichnung".
Possibly I unchecked them at first phone setup but not sure.
Does anybody know how to reactivate these?

U can freeze update center. I did that using Titanium
EDIT: just for the record, this requires root

Hi,
it seems there is another way.
Just disable all internet connection, and accept the update.
So nothing happend, and you can cancel the progress, make a reboot and these message disappears
thanks
Has anyone successfully disabled this thing? I really don't need it and don't want to download it as it's 30mb, and want it removed from my apps in the play store.
Would be nice for there to be a 'hide update' feature.

:good: I agree
I have until I decide to use it. However, you need root to disable, freeze, uninstall the app.

Yes, do you happen to know what the app refers itself as? I've froze all allcast files but this thing still shows up.

Thanx ! Found those files, but using ASTRO file manager I seem not to be able to delete those files ...
My Galaxy SIII is unrooted, could that perhaps be the problem?
If u eant it to be disabled I can probably help u with that.
Just go to settings---->applications manager-----> select the app u want to disable...
Remeber first clear cache, then clear data, force stop, disable, or uninstall
Whichever the option is listed

Thanks for that, but this particular thing does not let itself become disabled, the option is greyed-out. Here and on other sites I read that indeed the only way to have it NOT trun up in Google Play constantly is to remove the FWUpgrade.apk.
But I am afraid I cannot do that without root-access, unless someone has a work-around?
Yea ull need root. It's easy to root, just flash an already rooted stock Rom with Odin.

No root (unrooted) = no way to disable. There is no other way around it. This is true of several third party apps on stock ROM.

I'm having the Allshare Cast dongle issue. I want to get rid of it, but can't. Is there now a solution?
My phone (Mega 6.3) IS rooted, running MegaFireMj2V7X, and yet I'm still unable to do anything with "FWUpgrade.apk" in /system/app dir.
Any help would be gratefully received, thanks.
thanks for this. worked on my note3 w/4.4.2. root stock TW. you do need root and must mount /system RW to delete. joy!

In the developer options, you can check Notification Flash. Its a good alternate. It will light up the flash when you get calls and emails. I dont know about texts.

Not at all. No need to install anything. Do this:
1. Navigate to SETTINGS.
2. Goto MORE.
3. Goto About Phone.
4. You will see a build number, click it (nothing will happen). Keep clicking it 7+ times it will inform you that developers options are activated.
You will find the developer options in the settings.

It dint work with the text notifications on my end. Only emails and phone calls. Have no clue if you can configure apps to use this. I think basic Samsung apps only support it mate.
bln does not work with notifications which are turning on the display. So for SMS just use an app like GoSMS where you can configure the display to stay off, like in whatsapp.
Hey all,
I used LGUP to flash my Verizon LG G4 to MM. Most everything works great, but I realized that the system apps I had disabled using titanium backup remain disabled. Since I no longer have root, I cannot reenable most of them, but I would like to. Any thoughts? Or do I have to downgrade to LL and reenable them before I reupgrade to MM.
Also, android pay won't work, could the disabled system apps be why?
Thanks
Rob
Do the disabled apps show up in disabled list using Settings App Manager? Make sure you selected to look at system apps too.

Try using the Debloater app to only unblock/enable the apps you are interested in enabling at this time:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/debloater-remove-carrier-bloat-t2998294
It does appear to work with our VS986 and root is not required. Read the first post to learn how to export your current configuration enabled/disabled apps first before making any changes.

Unfortunately, it will not block/unblock (disable/enable) apps, only hide/unhide them, on my phone. Have you used it on Marshmallow?

I noticed about hide/unhide vs disable/enable when using it yesterday for the first time.
If you unhide one of the apps you previously disabled when rooted, does that not enable it?
Once an app is hidden, I could not figure out a way to get a list of hidden apps using adb .

Unfortunately, unhiding a disabled app does not enable it. Hiding it does make it invisible to the launcher and the rest of the phone (as far as I can tell) other than the application manager. It is very useful and ended up hiding several app. My issue is that I had disabled the LG backup and LG bridge apps and would like to use one to do a full backup so that I can do a system reset to address some issues. I guess I'll have to wait for root.
I wonder if you can use adb via a PC/USB and re-enable the apps using "pm enable <package name>" ? Worth a try.
If you figure out how to list apps hidden with "pm hide <package name>" , I'd love to know how . Don't forget about those apps you've hidden ..... I'm concerned I will forget about them .
If all else fails, I suppose you'll have to do what you want to avoid ......... go back to Lollipop rooted just to re-enable those disabled apps, then upgrade back to Marshmallow.

It does appear that your are correct.
I wonder what's going on when we do disable an app using the "Settings -> Application manager" option with Marshmallow. That appears to be doing an disable/enable. Must be a permissions thing doing it from adb vs application manager, since it does not work from adb
I was not able to disable/enable Amazon Kindle using adb, even though doing it from the app manager did disable/enable it. I could hide/unhide Amazon Kindle using adb, and hiding/unhiding it made it vanish/reappear off/on the app manager list. I wonder why we can do a hide and not a disable if they both effectively prevent an app from running ?
As you originally stated, If you used LG UP upgrade option (not refurbish option) to go back to 13B, then flashed your rooted 13B, then enabled your disabled apps, then used LG UP to upgrade back to 24C, I wonder if you'd be successful in getting to the state you want to be in?
Let us know if you try.
I have tried a few, but I am looking for an LED app that works, no FC, no always on, an app that works 100% like it should, any advice on which to use?
U'll need to root your phone in order to use it. Root ur G5 then use app like Quicksettings to modify its working

Hey man,
I just tried using the app you showed, but I can't activate the led.
Even if I activate the tile, it is still grayed out and can't be activated, even after granting root access.
The other tiles I tried didn't have that problem.
Could you give an explanation how you managed to activate it?
