That's from Dec 2019. See mine from Dec 2020. Be more useful
Just go to Tmobile and find their bands-that way you can be more useful!. Things don't change just because a year passed by...and people like me never will. So there...saying in sarcasm and jest as the internet is your friend. Everyone wants to be spoonfed. Tmobile 5g bands are NR 41 / 71 / 260 / 261
which of these match the 5g bands of the 20x 5g model? Will leave you to that much work and be useful...

you have to scroll down to find the bands...oh such a lot of work lol
i just recently received my s20 ultra LTE, there is no 5G enable. just want to know is this software limitation or that 5G modem is missing in my phone. its powered with exynos 990.
depends on what market you're living!
4G ultra might offer significant better battery life since the external 5g modem is disabled. we need to wait and check
Possibility your SIM is is not 5g ready?

Give more details. What version you bought? Where are you living?
I got the usa snapdragon ultra and there is no 5g option here in the UK where I am
Only tmobile has nationwide "5g" other carroers are only in very few cities. Itll be a couple years. Go to *#2263# and disable 5g to save battery

I don't think you can
What speed are you getting on 4G?
Tbh if it's anything like the UK then you'll have more than enough speed and better battery life.
The phone capable of 5G (network permitting) but do we really need it? Similar to the ram, do we need 12-16GB? Lol, not really.
Run a does test, see what you get.
175Mb down? Lol that's slow for me..

Samsung technical expert on chat said yes,
the modem the phone has seems to indicate it does (unless samsung disable something on the S20 5G specifically to limit it to Sub6 bands only),
https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/exynos/products/modemrf/exynos-modem-5123/
this webite seems to say no (no mmWave bands listed),
https://www.devicespecifications.com/en/model/f3e652f5
to add to my confusion the verison S20 5G originally didn't support mmWave until they released the S20 5G UW
I'm in the UK on EE. I just would like to know if the phone can or can't receive mmWave if it was transmitted to it?

I think you're out of luck if you didn't purchase the 5G UW. There is no modem technology currently available that can leverage 5G signals in the sub-6 GHz spectrum and 5G signals in the mmWave spectrum at the same time. You can only get one or the other.

Not so, Verizon released 5G mmWave for the S20, Plus and Ultra devices on June 4th. They're labeled as S20 5G UW Models, other carriers to follow. A couple of drawbacks for the S20 Base Model, you're limited to 8GB of RAM and no MicroSD.

I see that the phone is missing Sub 6 5G.
I literally have no idea what it is, but I see all other 5G handsets have this, does it matter?
Does that mean the OnePlus 9 Pro will have different speeds / connectivity than the galaxy S21 Ultra?
AFAIK, it supports mm wave bands which I believe is sub 6.. but not ATT.
From what I understand, TMO's ahead in the game as far as 5G networks are concerned. They're starting to roll out mid-band 5G.
Granted, their upgrade scheme is supposed to be fragmented at best, and their failures are representative of the other two major US carriers.
Here's a thing I was reading about the state of TMO's networks: https://www.sdxcentral.com/articles/news/t-mobiles-5g-speed-claims-dont-jibe-with-reality/2021/01/
Mind you, that looks more toward mmWave's future rather than that of Sub6...

I think ATM is an understatement. I think its been in perpetual suspension. They keep lobbying to change the definition. Fist it was 4g. Now the definition of 5G and the speeds of 5G has also been changed.
And they already talk about the benefits of 6g super-ultra-extra speed...
Can anyone explain what's the whole deal with the 5G mmWave & Sub-6 ? I'm asking because I'm in Romania, on Orange carrier, and have 5G plan. I had a Xiaomi Mi 11 which had 5G signal, but now with my P6P only LTE. Also no voLTE and no voWIFI.
I checked with them(Orange), they reset my network, tried eSIM, tried another SIM, still only LTE.
I get about 200 mb\sec, but I pay for 1.2 gb\sec(I know it won't be that fast, but with the Mi 11 I had about 450-500 mb\sec, and lower pings in everything). Does anyone know how to enable voLTE at least?
The only thing I could find from Google was this article https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/10082009?hl=en
Have you gotten the December update for your P6P yet? I believe it has some 5G fixes, although I don't use 5G so I can't speak about it first hand.

5g not yet, but volte and vowifi yes
so is tmobile Ultra Capacity the same as MMwave?

It's just marketing. 2.5 GHz is the suburban mid-band 5G. mmwave is the very distance limited high-band 5G meant only for stadiums, parks, and dense downtown areas.
Both are marketed as ultra capacity.

I've been reading about T-Mobile 5G. Apparently there are three tiers. The first low wave isn't that much faster than 4G. Then included with UC there's medium 2.4 ghz wave which for me is a lot faster. I live in a medium sized city and I pick up UC most of the time. I was able to get 390 Mbps with medium wave. I haven't picked up the ultra high band yet, which is of course UC also.

The chances are your phone only has Sub6 and doesnt even have the necessary mmWave hardware anyway (unless you bought it in the states) so i wouldn't lose too much sleep over it.

So my 5g phone can't connect to 5g ? Wow...nice move, google.
If it can't connect to the very short-range mmwave. You still get mid-band and nationwide 5G if your carrier has built it out.
But yes, it is a **** move that Google removes the antenna from Pro models that don't include mmwave. They just shove a piece of plastic to fill out the space.

What do you mean it cannot connect to 5G? Sub-6 will still get you more speed than you'll ever need and of course the main benefit which is capacity, also you're not going to have to stand next to the cell site to even get it, you can be miles away to benefit. mmWave isnt even deployed in most countries because in everyday use it is pointless.

Absolute nonsense ..
Here in Austria the pixel is not officially sold, 5G and VOLTE still work perfectly.
5G wont work in unsupported countries. At the ss you can see what country is supported in the Europe. You can just google it if you dont belive it (example: "5g blocked in unsupported countries google pixel")
Google blocks it, and is lying that is that countries operators fault. But it is obviously a lie. The theme is discussed from Pixel 4a 5G. Until now on the other pixels with 5G, you could install the magisk module, which unlocked everything, so how come it's the operators fault, if the lock was discovered in the software. Pixels 6/pro have a 5G modem from Samsung, so maybe that's the fault why you haven't yet been able to unlock via the magisk module
In summary, it's not about any frequencies, the Pixel 6/pro supports all 5G frequencies used in Europe. This is Google's fault alone, they are tardy and don't want to solve this problem, and probably just don't give a **** about the other countries. Best to spam on their Pixel forum and in the feedback, maybe they will finally wake up
I don't know if this helps anyone: Check carriers, their 5G networks & their 5G roaming support for Pixel phones. Make sure and choose your country from the drop-down to see the list of carriers beneath.
There's also the section above that Learn which Pixel phones can work with which kinds of 5G.

you mix between unsupported countries, and official sales countries. there are so many countries which not official sales of Pixel but google just official supported carrier, and there are so many countries that they dont at all.
