I have a 14 of them in the root directory of my sd card, I am v12 global.
Looks like the files are from the Miui Gallery app, As you can see in the link below on an "redmi note 9 pro"
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-9-pro/help/miui-gallery-creating-weird-files-sd-t4142833
Same here, I installed gallery app from miui 12 but im on miui 11 and these files start showing up on my internal storage, i deleted it and no problem because shows 0kb

It happens to me also if I use external sd card to store camera pictures...if I switch to internal memory, it is not making these ghost files anymore.
Fyi: I just updated to miui 12, removed gallery app because I prefer Google photos and there are no ghost files on external sd card.
So it seems to be miui gallery related.

Either you have a bad SD card, which i've had in the past, or it's just a bug in the beta. Try a newer beta before posting it in the CM11 dev thread.
Hi, can I use SD Card as default storage? How? I have a 64 GB SD Card, but every App/Games data is in external storage(which have only 10 GB, and now it is full), when I move Android folder from external storage to SD card, every game stops working, because can't find data and try downloading it again to external storage. I try several app for moving to the SD card, but without luck, Is there any solution? Thank you.
app removed sorry
Why would you think that just moving an app's data would be okay? How on earth would the app know where you moved its files to?
Have you tried Apps2SD?

Yes, without luck. I move it to the SD card, but its same as when I do it with file explorer, game canť find data and trying downloading it again..
Are you running a custom ROM? I thought from your signature you were on Viper. Then I realized its not a Viper version number (7.0.0) that applies to this phone.
I think the SD card fix needs to be applied for Apps2SD to work, but most (if not all) custom ROMs should already have the SD card fix implemented.

Yes, sdfix is aplied in rom (Viper 3.1.0.) I see in some LG device, it have in setting/storage when people can select default storage. I need set a sd card as default, but can't find how.
I'm just installing the official CyanogenMod 12 nightly ROM to my D855 now and I have just bought a 128GB SD card. I don't want it to go to waste, so one of the things I'd like to do is install apps to the SD card by default if possible (I know some apps have a manifest file that prevents this). Is there some setting in CM12 that lets me install apps to the SD card by default? Or is there any reason I should not do this? I have seen it written that you shouldn't always try to put apps on the SD card, but I don't see why not.

What you can try is: Settings, Apps, press three dots at the top right and select external SD. Don't know if it works at all/with most apps though

Thanks for the solution. It works.
I have recently bought a new Redmi 7 and discovered that I can't move apps to sd card. I have tried the method mentioned on the miui community that formats the sd card as internal storage, but it doesn't work, when I press move to sd card, it gives me an error "Not enough storage" although I am using an empty 16 GB sd card. Is there any solution to my problem?
If I haven't mistaken, both orea and pie doesn't allow moving apps to SD card.

Is there an available guide to unlock the bootloader on my phone? And is it safe to do it?

You can force enable adaptive storage on miui 10. The option is there but they hid it for the reason that so it wont cannibalize the sales of their other storage option like 64gb. The only miui i know that have adaptive storage visible is the pocophone. But you can still enable it via adb. Search around xda there's a guide on how

I tried it, but it doesn't work. The SD card storage gets smaller, but the device doesn't recognize the added adaptive internal storage.

Didn't work
Hi there,
i'm posting on this forum section just because MI A2 LITE is my current phone, but I've had the same issue with other Android phones, too.
I use an external microSD (128 GB) to store a huge music library (about 60gb) to be played with Black Player EX. I'm pretty sure that a lot of my songs have been deleted without any reason!
Consider that the SD is pretty new and the phone is not rooted nor any other MOD.
Thank you very much

LOST.DIR is a system folder used to collect the corrupted data produced when the process of writing data into SD Card is interrupted such as suddenly shutting off the phone or pulling out the SD card (Wesley, 2018).

Hi everybody,
@gdivella
A few years ago I successfully used the free "TestDisk & PhotoRec" program on Windows to restore some files from my microsd card.
The program allows you to recover even overwritten files several times.
You can get more information on the wiki of the official website.
