A month ago, my Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 randomly started restarting and wouldn't stop. I can't access anything. I can't go to FastBoot mode, it would just restart again. I only now just bought an EDL Cable thinking it would fix things. It allowed me to go to FastBoot Mode but doing anything still results in my phone restarting. I want to "Connect with MIAssistant" because I still think I am able to keep my important data inside, but when I try to connect to my PC it reboots again. I haven't tried to wipe the data yet, but I am saving that for last if there really is no other solution.
Does anyone know what I can do?
I'm in a similar situation, fastboot I'm stuck for days now.
unlocked/magisk/ArrowOS/NO Gaaps/Fastboot only/Dead battery lest plugged in.

Hi All
I am new here and would like to get help.
Recently I rooted my Mi Mix 2, installed TWRP and Pixel Experience ROM and it was running ok until yesterday.
All of a sudden it started restarting loop on it own and never stop until the battery is draining out.
I tried to boot into Fastboot and recovery mode without any luck.
Please see attached photos.
when the battery is drained and get the charger plugged in, it starts doing it again.
Can anyone help, please...
Hello everyone,
My Redmi Note 9 Pro (M2003J6B2G) freezes after the MIUI logo, while it tries to load the lock screen and then it reboots. I have tried to soft reset the phone, boot in safe mode, let the battery drain and charge again but nothing changed. I also tried to connect the phone to Mi Assistant (from the volume + and Power button menu) but the phone isn’t recognized for some reason.
The only thing I can do is to boot in Fastboot mode but unfortunately, I never unlocked the phone (didn’t even used a Mi Account, just my Gmail), so I can’t do much from there.
The phone is still in warranty but before I sent it for a replacement, I want try to save my data.
Is there anything I can do to recover my photos and videos? I thought of trying to wipe all data from the boot menu and if that fixes the boot issue, then try to recover anything that can be saved with a recovery program.
Any suggestions are highly appreciated.
Have you install twrp before, it might help.. If none, check are your phone bootloader unlocked already? Flash twrp if yes
I know flashing roms are easy. But it might be difficult for newcomers like me. I have always a question in mind what'll happen if my phone shut down due to low battery in fastboot/recovery. If I format the OS before shutdown, is it possible to charge the phone offline without no OS then continue flashing roms?
##Following things happened with me.
I was in MIUI 12.5. I installed Pixel Recovery to flash PE12 via adb sideload. Then I cleared all data/cache. When I tried to update the rom by sideload, it didn't work. I wanted to search the internet and as it would take time, I tried to turn the phone off. I couldn't even shut the phone to save battery. Whenever I pressed power button, instead of shutting down, it always took me to the bootloader menu. Thats when I thought about this question.
that question is so out of the box, i doubt anyone can give you an answer with proof
but yes, i believe it is possible to charge even without OS and no, i dont have any proof to back this up
That's why you need to charge phone first at least until 50% up before flashing any rom.. otherwise if still happen phone shutdown while flashing, yes you still can recover as long your phone bootloader still at unlocked stats also phone still can go into fastboot
If it shuts down when in fastboot/recovery because the battery is empty, you simply charge it and reboot, that should cause no harm. Shutting down while flashing a ROM however is a totally different story. You might get lucky and be able to boot the phone back into fastboot/recovery or you could end up with a paperweight.

I did shutdown the phone within fastboot to cancel flash all and lock....then booted in forced fastboot end flashed with flash all to not lock the bootloader....and had no prob....! I think those partitions are protected against those scenarios....

No. NO NO NO and NO.
You were lucky. This can totally brick your phone. Critical partitions are being modified in the Flashing-process.
There is no protection.
If your phone shuts down during the Flashing-process, your phone can get bricked (black screen) and you can't even boot Fastboot & Recovery anymore. I know this. I have experience.
You must ensure that you have enough Battery (I recommend 75% Battery at least), that the USB connection is stable (will not disconnect randomly), and that your PC won't crash/shut down.
IF IT HAPPENS, that the Flashing-process errors out, DON'T REBOOT THE PHONE. If you do so, you won't be able to enter Fastboot anymore. You must stay in Fastboot. Just reconnect USB, and try again to Flash. Just don't reboot the phone.
Sorry for fear-mongering, but this is definitely dangerous and not to be taken lightly.

I think it is because I forced fastboot mode after few seconds of starting flashing....by the way I was avoid the flash and lock option that I selected by error while I wanted flash and clean...
I think, there is no ptoblem, fastboot Mode is Read Only Memory, no one can write/edit this think.
No matter you abort the flashing prosses , or the device loss power from battery, didn't affect the fastboot sector/bios on PC

Since a few months, I'm facing this problem. The phone is working OK when I can get to the system, but If I turn it off or the battery runs off, it gets stuck on a loopboot: the Mi logo shows and restarts itself after a few seconds. Can't access the recovery mode (it just restarts again to the Mi logo), fastboot works tho'.
The only way I have to get to the system is to start the Fastboot Mode, keep the phone on it to drain the battery and once it's empty, plug it to the charger and try to boot 15-20 times until it magically works.
I've never unlocked the bootloader or tried to install anything, the ROM and Recovery are the Xiaomi's stock EEA. I'm on MIUI 13.
Any ideas about how I can fix this weird behavior? Anybody has faced the same problem?
Thanks for reading/helping and happy new year to you all!

Nope. One day it turned off and I never could boot back in again. Sorry.
..
Is it possible to fix this phone? I have been stuck on the fastboot menu for 3 days now and I have looked all over the internet with zero luck. The phone just vibrates once and then immediately goes into fastboot. Same with charging the phone. As soon as I plug a powered usb cable into it, it just turns on into fastboot mode. Rebooting the system and recovery mode don't work either. I tried to flash roms for the phone onto it with adb but it does nothing. It still says stuck in fastboot. Is there a way to fix it or is the phone now a lost cause?
Nevermind I will be getting the Red magic 7 so it doesn't matter now.

Hey I am on a new account so I ended up forgetting I made this post lol. But It ended up being a lost cause. It actually got worse for me because a week after the post it stopped turning on entirely. I ended up getting the Red Magic 8 pro because I couldn't fix it.
