T-Mobile iPhones are not unlocked if purchased directly from T-Mobile. If you purchase iPhone from Apple in the T-Mobile variation (which is the same model as the Verizon version), it will be unlocked.
So I'm like 99% certain the S6 does not come unlocked from T-Mobile, like all other T-Mobile phones.

lte data will work on verizon's network but cdma voice will get rejected on verizons network
No, absolutely not unlocked. Actually a bunch of threads on the subject already... the phone is currently unlockable unless you are a LONG standing t-mobile customer
I recently bought a Samsung j7 that was unlocked internationally. It said it had lte so I thought all was good to go. However after installing the sim I find that I can't use 4g let alone lte, so after a quick call to t mobile find that due to the method that the phone was unlocked I can't access their lte. Is there a way to relock your phone so that you can unlock it the proper way? Thank you in advance.
It does, I spoke with t mobile tech support and they said they support the model but not mine specifically due to how it was unlocked
Does anyone here have this phone from MetroPCS? And if so, is it rootable?
Thanks
Model G 960U - I have the Tmobile version using on Metro but is the same as Metro PCS version .
No idea if rootable I am a Power User but not a developer.
Great SOTs and battery life on this one two to four bars sometimes 5 of 4G LTE and VOLTE is always working for simultaneous Voice and Data - Metro was first with that in 2012 !
The advantage of VOLTE is you will not lose internet when a call comes in in the middle of typing an Email and of course looking things up on Web during calls .
So find out about Model 960U - also you MAY have much better luck buying a FACTORY UNLOCKED 960U directly from Samsung but NOT a TMO 960U from Samsung - those are SIM locked to TMO and Samsung will not unlock - though easier to unlock because they are not tied to a Contract. But I understand that you are speaking of the locked bootloader....that I do not know .
I purchased a Verizon Galaxy Note 10+ 5g from ebay last year to use for Total Wireless. Well the phone wasnt compatible with Total Wireless at the time and I had to switch to Verizon prepaid. Now the phone is compatible but I cant add APN's to the device because Verizon has greyed out the option. I bought a US Mobile Sim card so I can switch all of our phones over since it is cheaper and is a Verizon MVNO, but I cant get everything to work on my note 10+ 5g. I was able to download an app that let me add APN's and the LTE comes up but now I cant get VoLTE to work. Its turned on but when I make a phone call, it switches to 1x. This is a problem since Verizon is doing away with their CDMA Network. I have spoken to Verizon, US Mobile, and Samsung with no help. My other Note 8 will work just fine when I put the US Mobile Sim card in and my Samsung a71 5g wont work at all and wont let me add APN's even with the app.
I have been doing research and found out about SamKEY and bought some credits to change the CSC from VZW to XAA. I was in the process and it gave a warning about locking the SEC so I decided to do more research before I screwed something up.
The phone is unlocked but for some reason, Verizon phones have these issues with a Verizon MVNO. I can add the TMO sim card from US Mobile and it will allow me to edit the APN's without an issue but I get zero coverage here so I cant use it. So how can I change the CSC to get VoLTE working on a Verizon MVNO? Or can I even change the CSC on this phone? I am so sick of Verizon phones but Im afraid to buy an unlocked phone since It doesnt support all of Verizon's bands.

IDK about unlocking an US device. I prefer unlocked devices.
US unlocked versions of Samsung devices are called "U1". It's part of the model number/name.
E.g. SM-G981U is the US locked Samsung Galaxy S20 5g (like for Verizon), and the SM-G981U1 is the US unlocked version of the same device.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up selling the phone and buying a Google Pixel 4 XL. Saved some money and its unlocked. Ill never buy another Verizon Edition of the phone again.
I have searched for hours without any luck. I have been with an AT&T MVNO (Unreal mobile) for two years. During the 3g shutdown I was unable to use VOLTE on my S8 (VERIZON FIRMWARE). I found out the only way to use my S8 on UNREAL was to have AT&T firmware. I spent countless hours trying to flash ATT firware onto the Verizon S8, but I was unable to do it by flashing, but I found another way. I put a TMOBILE SIM in my S8 and it automatically loaded the TMOBILE firmware. Once the S8 was booted up I was able to run a USSD code (*#272*IMEI#) through the dialer which allowed me to switch to ATT firmware! Problem solved!!!! But a few months later my S8 was lost and I got a S9 (Verizon Firmware). I tried the same method as I used on the S8, but it doesn't work. When I put a T-mobile sim in the S9 it does not automatically change the firmware like the S8 did. From the Verizon dialer on both the S8 and the S9 it will NOT ALLOW USSD codes. Does anyone know if there is a way to run the USSD code (*#272*IMEI#) on the Verizon S9? Does anyone know why the Verizon S9 doesn't automatically change to T-Mobile after inserting a T-Mobile sim? Are there any other sims I can insert in the S9 to change the Verizon firmware in order to run USSD codes? Flashing my S9 is not an option for me because I must be too stupid. Anyhow thanks for your help!!!!
Seem's you+I have similar problem! I have s9 verizon unlocked, but I am with consumer cellular. They went to 4g recently now no call or recieve call! They gave me new sim, still not working! Told me shorter mobile wavelength from tower's! Last update on this phone was 2018? Won't update normal procedure! Wondering since this is U.S.A version if any way to update to 4 g? I'm fine on micro-soldering but when it come's to tech,a little to old I guess!!Lol Any help appreciated!

In my case I had a Verizon unlocked s9 and it turns out Verizon has bloatware that prevents many MVNO's from using VolTE. After tons of research the only solution I found was using patched ODIN to flash unbranded stock firmware in order to chance my model from a U model to a a U1 model. Now the phone works perfectly. Someone should file a lawsuit against Verizon (and ATT) for circumventing federal law on unlocked phones (technically they are unlocked but you can't use them because of their bloatware). It really is a major scam.
