Hi,
I think i have a battery drain problem with my G Pad since the last firmware update (V50020d).
In 10 hours standby I loose round about 5% battery power. (WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS turned off)
Before the update there was nearly no standby power consumption, maybe 1% over night.
I tried to solve the problem with a factory reset, but the problem still persists.
I havent rooted the device, so I can only use the PC Version from wakelock detector here from xda.
Maybe this screenshots could help:

I hope you could help me solving this problem.

Have you tried Greenify? its useful.
Sence you're rooted, also try some xposed module like xblast tools which modifies the biuld prop, or Greenify with xposed...
Hi thanks for your answer.
I have not rooted my device.

Try taking our your sdcard and see if the high battery drain overnight goes away. Some folks have noticed that the sdcard is now remounting several times a night and this causes the media server to scan the card over and over again all night resulting in battery drain. If the problem goes away with the removal of the sdcard you at least know what is causing it. Then you can join us in the thread where we are trying to track down what causes the sdcard bad removals....
Ok check your battery status and see if some google services is working in the background and uses some battery

Hi,
@muiriddin
I tried this last night, but the problem is not fixed.
Seems like the micro SD card is not the problem.
But thanks for your advice.
@Jhon998
When i look in the battery statistics it just said 21% Tablet idle.

For how long it eats 21%?
The tablet uses 21% battery in round about 2,5 days standby.
I still could not solve the problem, so I rooted my G Pad with ioroot.
BetterBatteryStats sayed the problem is com.google.android.gms.
See attached screenshots for more information.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
Sorry that I do not have anything to offer by ways of an answer, but in what I feel may be a relevant addition to the topic, I've found that my VK810 actually *loses* battery even while it's charging and in use. With the charger hooked up, I can see the percentage dropping steadily even during light tasks such as web browsing, albeit at a slower rate than when it's unplugged.
See this how i left it all night...
Hello guys,
I'm in a little trouble right now. For past two weeks I'm experiencing high battery drain on my HTC M8. I'm running Android Revolution HD 10.2 for three months and I've never had that much battery drain as I'm having now. For example, I unplug charger in the morning after all night charging and after 45 minutes (screen off, lte off, WiFi, bt and stuff also off) I have left only 92 % of battery.
What can I do? I appreciate any help and I'm ready to post all data you need.
Best regards,
pablo7890
Since you've been on the same ROM for 3 months, I suspect its some app or mod that you applied recently.
Otherwise it has to be a hardware issue.
I finally found out that Snapchat was draining battery as hell. I deleted it, but still it's draining badly. What can I do? Are there some good power saving tweaks or something?
Thanks
It will suck but your going to have to go app/mod by app/mod youve installed to find the culprit.

After you install the app, you can try disabling the tweaks that you have installed for a day or two to see how the battery goes. If its still bad, take a look at the wakelocks that's causing the issue. Or you can go for a full wipe and set-up your device from scratch without tweaks to see how the battery fares.
I recently purchased a P2. Every thing's good. Battery life is also better than most of the phones. But, one thing that I noticed is that Cpu usage is high in idle state too. I did a factory reset. But, the problem persists. I usually get around 8hrs SOT. I think that's lower than most P2's.
Is there a way to solve this? My bootloader is not yet unlocked. Have to wait 12 more days.
Thanks.
Wait 12 more days, unlock the bootloader and flash the DrainFix.zip that can be found in Lineage and RR threads.

Are you still on Marshmallow ? There was a bug that caused the cpu to stay at 1689mhz on some phones .
And Drainfix wont make any difference . It changes the governor from performance to interactive , but your already on the interactive governor .

I am now on nougat. But same problem. Already performed factory reset a couple of times. Cpu doesn't stay on 1689mhz. Now it fluctuates. But, still heavy usage from CPU.
Battery drains by 7-8% overnight.
I already installed Nougat, but the phone is sleeping as dead. Charged it to 95% last night, put it on airplain mode and today in the morning after 9h to battery is still 95%.
The android battery stats show that CPU is awake all time, but BetterBatteryStats shows that everything is fine.

Mine is dropping in Flight mode too . Its probably the system tuning itself up while its idle , it should settle down in a few days
I have the same problem
Have you found any solution? I purchased it on 21 April 2017 and currently running it on Naugat.

Here is how it was for me.
I took phone out of the box with MM preinstalled and right after i turned up the screen and connected to my wifi network it asked me to update OS to Nougat 7.0 so i did. The bug that caused CPU stays at 1.69Ghz occures for 100% on Nougat, and you say on MM too ?
Anyways, for me, hard reset solved the problem, at least this one.
But battery drain still takes place. In normal mode 3-4%, in ultra power saving - 5-6% over night (5-7h). This is pretty a lot i would say.
ps: Phone goes into deep sleep mode according to BetterBatStats.
On p2 i get average SOT of around 13hrs

Thanks ill try it once im rooter in 9 days.
So far im very dissapointed with my bateery life. I get 8.5h over 3 days use. It's not really a good result as for such a battery and screen technology.
I counted exactly - 23% of battery went for standby. It's a lot, isnt it ?
Any ideas if its Nougat fault, or bad piece of phone ?
I think u need to drain your battery completely till the phone shuts down then recharge completely while the phone is off then power on and try

Systemless root under Nougat with magisk:
1. Format data partition to ext4.
2. Type in the recovery terminal :
echo "SYSTEMLESS=true" >> /data/.supersu
3. Flash the magisk12.zip
4. Reboot
5. Install Magisk manager
If you have another su like phh, will not work, you need reinstall the original boot image.
Should be around 0.2%/hr...

The only way to know the standby drain is normal or not, try install GSam Battery Monitor app...
As shown above, native stock ROM S233 should drain around 0.2% per hour, which in turn to be 0.2% x 8 hours sleep = 1.6% or 1.6% of 5,100mAh is 81.6mAh energy consumption...
Conclusion:
P2a42 can survive in airplane mode for 20 days on a single charge.

So, i just checked my Gsam, and here is what is says:
0.7%/h drain in standby which is more or less what im losing of battery juice over night. It's stick Nougat form OTA update.
Right now im at 44% and i switched into ultra power saving mode. It says that i have left around 51h. I dont think this is normal. Isnt it really very little time ?
It's just a little over 2 full days @ 44%
Damn...
Should i return this piece to store with complain i got faulty one ?
Can you please switch to ultra power saving mode just for a second and tell me what did it calculate aproximately as time left on battery ?
Okay so, I flashed the latest Resurrection Remix yesterday, great performance ; however, there's a weird battery drain occurring to me. I've already tried multiple guides using greenify, amplify, etc but none really worked. I was using Viperrom 5.10 and wanted to revert back to complete stock after noticing random restarts and this battery drain. I installed stock through twrp with the backup I had before flashing and rooting then installed the stock recovery but still there was a battery drain. I flashed Leedroid, PureFusion 7.1.2 and still same problem. I think this is caused by something in Nougat since all the ROMs I flashed were nougat and showed the same issue. Now, I've seen many people experience the same problem but no one found a proper solution. Any insight as to whatever causes this battery drain would be appreciated. I'm not a heavy user at all; I don't have any games and all my apps are basically just social media like Telegram, Whatsapp, Youtube, Instagram and get barely 2.5hrs of SoT. Something to note too, my phone reports illogical battery percentages and sometimes shuts down when less than 50~40% due to an empty battery. For example, I restarted my phone a few minutes ago and upon booting it was 98% from full charge then I rebooted again and it's 78%.I'm not sure if this is a faulty battery or something wrong with the calibration. I tried calibrating multiple times but still nothing. I never abused my battery and most times I charged my phone before it hit 10-20%. Also one more question, I've noticed that on PureFusion the charging amperage was around 2-2.8 amps but on RR it reports 1.7 amps so is quick charge enabled on this ROM and if not what are the kernels I can flash to get QC? I've tried flashing Elemental X but it gets me stuck on the HTC splash screen.
I admit I'm kind of a noob when it comes to reporting bugs or issues, and I'm sorry for the length.
I'll add better screenshots of my stats after I collect more data.
I, and a lot of others, have suffered from the same symptoms. I thought I was alone but there is a big thread here https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/help/random-shut-boot-loops-t3690547. I have got a support ticket (which is probably soon to expire, whoops!) but I've currently got it stuck in a bootloop at HTC (white) screen. Is this what yours did? Can you help me out?

No, my phone simply stays on the black screen with HTC logo in the center and the red text under it. Idk why it does that after flashing the kernel, probably not compatible idk,but what works with me is flashing the ROM again without messing with anything else.
Fixed mine, thanks. Just reflashed a stock rom I found on here. Wish I could help you more, but I think you might have to just return it unfortunately mate

I bought mine from another country and no international warranty so :/
I'd appreciate it if anyone replied to this thread. My phone is really unusable and disabling everything makes it useless and doesn't even save that much battery. My last resort would be to replace the battery but we all know how that would turn out and how it happens .
I tried :
1.Factory resets.
2.Flashed Viperrom,Leedroid,Purefusion 7.1.2,Resurrection Remix.
3.Flashed kernels like Cleanslate,Helix
4.Used battery saving apps like Greenify, Amplify, ForceDoze.
5.Disabled location, wifi, sync, cleared cache , reset app prefences, etc...
6.Started phone in safe mode.
Took all these steps and literally no significant improvement. I can't pinpoint an exact reason as to why I'm getting this drain but I noticed a lot of usage in GSam made by Android OS and in BBS and Wakelock detector PowerManagerService.Wakelocks seems to be on top of usage, and *launch* and *alarm* also have a very high number of wakelocks +1000 or even +10000. I've read on another thread that it might be wifi issue staying awake all the time. If someone has a good app to recommend me to monitor exactly and record whats draining I'll be eternally grateful .
Just a quick update.
I collected some stats. Not much but i saw some errors in there maybe some make some sense of them?
Mainly errors that are about Batterystats service: No controller energy info supplied and Power HAL : Failed to acquire lock whenever i touch the screen
I'll collect more logs and screenshots overnight in a +6hr period.

Glad I sold my HTC 10 and bought XA2. Way, way better
Hi all,
I got a new battery a week ago, because my phone didn't turn on or charged anymore.
But my battery keeps draining. I lose around 25% in idle at night time. And around 3% every 5 minutes when I use it.
I used gsam for a few days now to see iff there are any applications that are causing the drain. So far I can't discover any.
Also when I'm using my phone the side of the power button gets hotter then the rest of my phone. While the battery and cpu both are under 40 C.
I do have android 10 and 2.1 ui from devbase rom with soldier 6.0 clean installed, tried other roms aswell, so maybe I should get back to android pie?
I also started using ex kernel with the standerd underclock option you can choose while flashing this helps a bit.
Hopefully somebody can help me out.
Some gsam data
I have the same. I used different roms and kernels, all the same. I turn on airplane mode for the night. it helps a bit.

I do notice, that gsam says that that I am using wifi all the time. And it shows that battery usage is high when this happens.
The only thing is that I never use wifi anywhere..
I don't know if this is something to go on or just normal behavior?
