Can GCams for Note 9S be used for Note 9 Pro international/EU?
What is the important difference between them software-wise?
9s/9Pro(curtana) has 48MP main camera while 9Pro(joyeuse) has 64MP main camera
Thanks for the reply. How about GCam for Note 9 Pro Joyeuse? I'd like one to recommend to a friend which works well just by installing it, without xml settings. Particularly to be used for night sight.

Hi guys!
I know this will sound like a really stupid question, but which is my phone? GearBest, the place where I ordered it, it's calling it Redmi Note 5 but, according to the hardware, appearently is a Note 5 Pro? I'm really lost here. This is the link (https://pt.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_1660528.html?wid=1349303).
Thanks for your help!

That forum is for the Indian Redmi Note 5, which is a rebranded redmi 5 plus (china). Codename: - VINCE
^^^ That is why Indian's have a Redmi Note 5 Pro
So if your getting WHYRED, stay in these forums.

Yes is it Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Global Version with SD 636
I figure it out by installing Antutu, but does all Redmi Note 5 with dual camera considered as Pro or Whyred?
Chinese or Indian have same Whyred name?

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 China/global and Pro share one codename which is WHYRED. China and global version are almost the same (global version supports LTE B4 and B20 and China version doesn't ). Pro version has got different front camera sensor
So whenever You see Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 with dual camera and Snapdragon 636 it's code in WHYRED. If frontal camera is 20Mpx - it's Remi Note 5 Pro. If 12Mpx (or 13Mpx I can't remember) it's China or global. LTE B20 and B4 supported ? Then its global

So the ROMs discussed in this forum (which is technically for the 20mp front sensor model), will work on the Global version too?

This entire forum is dedicated to both RN5Pro and Global RN5, both labeled as WHYRED. So most of the things should work on both, unless it's noted otherwise. The builds (both rom and kernel) are unified, as it was done with OP 3/3T.
I am really sorry if this is not a place to post this but I couldn't find it.
The forum description says that this is for redmi note 5 with 20MP front camera.
I have version with 13 MP front camera and dual primary camera. Is there even a subforum for my version of device?
Sorry for the confusion?

yes it's true, but just because the indian version has sony sensor on the front cam doesn't mean it's better.
imo the global version is brighter (f/2.0 1.12µm) compared to f/2.2 1µm.
I mean yes the indian version has a lot more resolution, but that's not how it works to judge how good the camera is.

some gcam mods are working for the global vers.
I tested MGC 5.1.018 Urikill.
The front camera is working fine except the HDR+.
I don't know if it's my settings or just the mod.
My advice is just try it all, you'll never know if you don't try. Make sure to enable the camera2api
I see that Redmi Note 6 pro is almost similar to this phone hence the AI portrait and AI scene enhance is mostly a software thing so I was wondering it would be real great if some developers port that thing for our device.
Thanks to all those developers in advance!

Dual camera is a gimmick
It's easy if the miui 10 on rn6 pro is treble supported. We would just need to backup the system partition and restore it on our device.

Oh yeah? Please try gcam in portrait mode and then try miui gcam port and see the difference between edge detection.
Anyone Got the Google camera 6.1 (Pixel 3) stable port for Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Ai/Pro.. Mine keeps crashing when i changed to front camera.. If anyone has a stable version please comment down below...Thank You..
Front camera doesn't work on Global/Chinese version only on India version (because of the front sensor).
Global/Chinese version uses Omnivision OV13855 while India version uses Sony IMX376, which is compatible with Pixel 3's GCAM.

Hello. I have just ordered a Redmi Note 8 Pro - 128 GB
I am living in Turkey so i am guessing it is International
I want to use the phone with stock rom
So is that possible for me to install gcam? Or are there any app that makes the camera even better?
Looking for your answers thank you
t.me/rn8pro_gcam
Doesn't matter if it's international or the others. But yeah there is ongoing gcam porting for the note 8 pro
https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...oogle-camera-rn8pro-edition-wyroczen-t3990731
This is the unpopular opinion, but truth be told, GCam for this phone as it is now is super sub par comparing to the stock camera app. There is MUCH more development to be done. You're better off sticking to the stock camera app unless you want to be a tester for wyroczen.
I also think that other than the fun of trying out Gcam, the stock cam is better, using night mode and/or HDR.
My understanding is that the Mediatek processor is the main barrier to having a good working build.
