Can it be the best rom for this phone? Now I have Pixel Experience, but it has too many bugs.
Try corvus 8.0. seems good to me.
i've tried panadroid, bliss, aosp extended, xiaomi eu weekly, colt, ressurection remix, corvus, havoc, crdroid, superior os
the best for me is unoffical bliss by bezke for better battery usage, ressurection remix for performance, aosp extended for ram management
I tried download Bliss, but was imposible. Always the link failed. I will try to download it again.
I will read something about corvus too.
Tried all so far. None were 100% to my liking. Always something wrong:
- no bokeh mode in portrait camera
- bad battery life
- no smooth scrolling (e.g. Chrome)
- bad wifi
- etc
The only ROM I can recommend (I'm using it) is MiuiMix. Based on MIUI(EU) with a few tweaks.
MiuiMiX_2.0_ginkgo_20.3.26_v11-9 Download: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=4349826312261756420
Also tested their good V12/A10 but I don't like MIUI12.

I hope you can tell us some more about the specific non Miui rom's.
I was hoping Paranoid (CAF) should be running fine.

Does it still contain all the MIUI "phone home" attributes?
I try every zip that has Ginkgo name in it
AospExtended-v7.3-ginkgo = the best
good battery + ram usage = 1.3gb (out of 6gb)
SuperiorOS comes in 2nd place because ram usage is slightly higher (1.4gb)
Xtended-XQ 3rd place , same as superior but has a call log bug
i saw someone rocommand miui, r u serious ? with the built in ads and thon of bloatware ...

Of course not. This is custom ROM based on MiuiEU.
The wifi issues are the worse for me. Pixel it has, and miui.eu (10/12) it has. Not before in miui.eu stable(9/11) but is not a smooth rom.

bugs reported are from v7.1 and 7.2
i'm using 7.3 for 1 months and never face anything wired
(i even installed xposed and all module are working fine, every other rom is not 100% compatible with gravitybox and other xposed modules ...)
the only feature that is missing is gesture anywhere and it would be a perfect rom
miui11 and 12 are straight piece of crap
ram usage is 2gb (out of 6gb) after many optimisation and debloating (not to mention that there are some app that can't be freezed/removed)
(my device is 6/128 and i don't use gapps)

This question was about MiuiMix supposedly a custom rom without all the "phoning home" etc according to the poster I quoted ( @tweakradje ) so I was looking for confirmation from him since he is using it.

Mokee is best..I've been using it for long time...right now I'm using cyanide...which has some criticalbugs bugs...gps not working...but it's the best customized Rom so far for redmi 1s. AICP Rom is also good. Mokee is best with God's kernel latest version.

SLIM 6 is where your search ends.
Marshmallow roms almost are same just 5%-30% different from each other in matter of performance, battery, mods compatibility and almost all roms has it. There are so many workarounds people claiming that they r not having them now by adding music player(and related mods if any) to battery optimization or Use custom kernel (set cores to 2 online while screen off or disable hotplug). And by far after using almost all roms and kernels i have settled with this config MiUi multi rom 6.7.7 + Phantom kernel v7 + Viper4Android+Project X crystal sound so far I'm getting 12H standby+3H SOT I'm medium to heavy user. You can also try LP roms (Especially Flyme most beautiful rom for redmi 1s) they are best but not updated coupled with gods or xcelerate is great. If you want only MM try Mokee MM(almost bug less).

Well , Exodus is the smoothest and fastest mm ROM for redmi 1s. It's fast and fluid. Moreover no audio suspemd bug is there on stock kernel of this ROM. It's feature rich too.but believe me I have tetsed it for 3-4 months and it's the best ROM in terms of fluidity and speed. Second choice is slim which is still under development

Most of the bugs are fixed in them.
AOKP also is good.
AOKP also is very stable, some problems with video recorder on some models and FM unfunctional in l36 variant, but in general is very good.

Android Open Kang Nougat Version works well. I am using it as my daily driver. Radio also works now in India, VoLTE works. Only video recorder doesn't work. There are few strange audio bugs but better using Nougat which gets new builds almost every day than stay stagnant on lollipop with no official updates.

Difference between the two :
~ Aokp
- Antutu Benchmark is lower than Aicp
- Buzzing sound during boot needs to be stopped manually
- Phone gets over heated on even little usage
- VoLTE is buggy
- Stock file manager does not read SD Card
- Battery drains very fast
~ Aicp
+ Antutu Benchmark score is higher as compared to Aokp
+ Buzzing sound automatically stops after boot
+ Phone does not get over heated quickly
+ Volte works pretty well
+ Stock file manager reads SD card
+ Battery life is better as compared to Aokp
That's all i found between the two, hope this info is enough for you.

After some configurations, i need reinstall AICP when choose custom notifications (dark mode) with Substratum (DNA Theme). The system no more showed home screen (interf. init. error). Only with new clean install this problem disappear.
But... this problem can to be of DNA theme and no of AICP ROM, but this configuration run perfectly on AOKP, however, in ModernUI Theme, exist one configuration (Two Columns in Configuration screen) what only runs how selected in AICP.
In general terms, i liked of AICP and is my new choice for use.
Sorry for my poor english, my language is other.

Yes you can enable camera 3 api on Viper. I have used Viper for a long time, it is really good I thing that it has been the longest time with out changing the rom. But the last 2 versions of AEX are realy realy good, i cant say better but realy close.I currently use aex, because I like tu have the latest software, even if I don't use the new features. Aex had some very big issues with performance, but they are fixed now.

Try nitrogen OS.. as smooth if not more than viper.. march security patches.. looks wise as well just like viper.. very good rom.. negligible heating.. dev is same as well for both jneto3000 .. i did not stay as i have weak network in my area and custom roms already suffer from weaker signal as compared to stock plus no video call in volte.. so had to go back to stock but definitely a good rom

I have tried most ROMs more than once and always come back to Los 16. I am using the final build with April security patch and I can't fault it. Also link below is the best Google camera with dark video fix i have used.

Yes brother, lineage os 16 is the best I know that because it was my last rom since 1 year. But I've bored of it.
If you don't mind Please Can you suggest any other ROM apart from lineage os?

Can someone shed some light? Thinking to flash Syberian 2.9, Syberian 3.0 or Lineage 17.1. Battery performance and stability are my main priorities.
Syberia 2.9 is the best around for now.

The nougat stock rom has broken battery information, so battery monitoring apps such as accubattery do not work.
Hi! I have tried a couple of ROMs on my RN8T, mainly CrDroid, Paranoid Android, Bliss ROM and the custom MIUI from xiaomi.eu. For me crDrdroid and xiaomi.eu are the best because Bliss ROM and Paranoid Android like to eat battery a lot more than stock. With all of these ROMs (a bit less on xiaomi.eu one but still) i have faced some camera issues. Notably there are some serious white balance issues and photos from the main sensor often come out very yellow, and greens are extremely saturated, I think the saturation also has something to do with the white balance, because when I turn on Google AWB in Gcam the photos don't have yellow tint and greens become more acceptable.
Problem is I don't always have enough time to take a photo on Gcam and wait for the processing to finish.
I tried flashing ANX camera 190, but there are two files and after flashing both the phone bootlooped (is there a specific way in which they need to be flashed?), ANX camera 185 made no difference.
Also the videos come out a bit blurry, especially when shot inside. They still look quite bad when shot outside but not as bad.
Is there any way to fix these issues or can you recommend aby ROMs with good battery life and no such issues?

@loopypalm Can you clarify please -
MSM Ext - is it this one - MSM Xtended XQ Release v12.5?
AEX - this one 10.0.0_r40] AospExtended ROM V7.3 [UNOFFICIAL]?
Any of the 3 solve the call log issue?
Thanks

yes those are the names
call log issue is present in all roms exept :
AospExtended/Superior/CesiumOS/aicp/AncientOS/AOSiP/CARBON/TitaniumOS/RRos
-RRos is the best currently (customisation/performance/battery)
-AEX 7.3 has good ram usage (1.4gb out of 6gb in my RN8) good customisation (but no gesture anywhere)
it's the most stable
-Superior have higher ram usage (1.8gb in ver 20200817 and 2.2gb in ver 20200915)
has gesture anywhere no call log bug but can't hide the X when u disable mobile data and the launcher has wired permissions that can't be revoked (also xposed module are not very stable like gravitybox ...)
-MSM have good ram managment (1.4gb out of 6gb) very good customisation
but has the call log issue (you can fix that by instaling True Phone ,just don't give it internet access)

Flash Disables dm-verity after flashing the rom
https://zackptg5.com/android.php#disverfe
if didn't work you need to "FORMAT" data (not wipe)
(copy all your data before formating,it will erase everything on int storage)
1-wipe system/vendor/data/cache/dalvik
2-flash rom
3-flash Disables dm-verity
4-clear cache/dalvik
5-reboot to system

ram usage is little higher (1.9gb out of 6) and some feature didn't work for me like brightness gesture and vol+- to skip songs
those bugs can be fixed with gravitybox or xposed edge
right now all RRos above 8.6.6 are good
