So 1 thing that i forgot mentioned is that the IMEI of my device is tampered. Once i have updated it to latest the Certificate of previous Tampered IMEI is removed and now the firmware is not accepting this IMEI. *#0011# service menu shows IMEI Status: NG (not good). Currently there is no solution available for this problem.

Not gonna find any help on here. Imei tampering is illegal in most countries and signs you either didn't pay the device off. Or stole it. So yea no help here

Tampering imei always indicates stolen or unpaid in full devices, you should feel embarrased about this, please get your devices as decent people do, BUY IT LEGALLY

yep without a valid IMEI the phone can't work, meaning as said above the phone is likely dodgy as that is the only reason to change the IMEI to try to bypass network bans and such. also as stated it is illegal in most places so finding help wont come easily and definitely won't come on legitimate sites.

i have same problem at s10+ but I can see my IMEI, is not 00000000. can anyone help me?

if not blacklisted or tempered it's either a wrong baseband bynary or maybe a currupted EFS

Note II N7100 not registered on network. help please

Hi all, I bought a new Galaxy Note II overseas in Malaysia in February. It is an original set fully network unlocked. I have tried using Vodafone New Zealand SIM card in it but to no avail. I tried flashing new modems and stock firmwares, ariza patch, backup and restore IMEI before and after flashing. My serial numbers and IMEI numbers are still the same and are matching to what is on the box.
If I insert a Malaysian SIM card it works on roaming mode since I am back in NZ, however if I insert a NZ SIM card and try to connect to the local network it says 'Unable to connect,' calling and messaging only results in 'Not registered to network.' And it only allows me to make emergency calls. My firmware is XXDMB2, baseband is ariza, kernel is Perseus.
I would be grateful for any help.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that this is an International N7100 and I am getting full signal here in NZ using Nz sim card
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Just a sugestion to you, root the phone or install a pre-rooted ROM from drketan and then install Galaxy SIM Unlock to check and be sure that the phone is fully network unlocked and also not SIM restricted.
To check the SIM restriction make sure that under Details -Accepted MCC/MNC - it is writen "all" and not some numbers like 5021x were x can be any number.
Under the next line I expect your phone to have Network Lock -unlocked, because you could use any SIM and make SOS calls, but if the above line is showing some numbers instead of "all" that might be your problem.
It is worth checking this because the aplication is free to check the status of the locking.
My new Note 2 was locked, I got the official unlock code from my carrier, entered the unlock code, the Network Lock was showing as unlocked but the SIM restriction status was still showing as locked to my carrier , under Accepted MCC/MNC I had my operator network code instead of "all".
I paid 3 euro and unlocked my phone fully with the Galaxy SIM Unlock, small price for a full unlock if your phone is rooted.
Good luck
Hi mendo, thanks for the suggestion. I ran galaxsim and I will post a screenshot. I am leaning towards the serial number being generic 0. Flashing Dr Ketans rom didnt help but thanks for the advice.

The Serial Number is showing 000000000000 on mine as well, this is not an issue it must be a bug in the tool.
Use some other tool or in Settings- About Device - Staus - Serial Number to display the S/N if you want to make sure that it is the same with the one from the box.
The Product Code should be GT-N7100xxxyyy, where xxx is the HW version and yyy is the CSC (country sales code) for the country/carrier.
This Not Active product code, could be the result of your problem and it might signal that your nv_data.bin and md5 files don't match.
I found an old post for a Galaxy S phone where changing the phone code or modifing the nv_data.bin is an issue and the SIM won't register.
I am sure that there are more topics about this but I'll post the link for the Galaxy S issue where you can start investigating more.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780509
The rest looks OK and your phone looks fully unlocked.
Here is a N7100 topic about the product code.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2045278
tried galaxy s/s2/s3 csc changertried galaxy s/s2/s3 csc changerCheck Fus is the only apk that will show the product code of your device with no need for root.
Unfortunately the apk doesn't work for the original purpose but at least it reads your product code.
Also it looks that the md5 checksum file is not autogenerating anymore if you edited the nv_data.bin and deleted the md5 file.
You need to restore the original bin and md5 file from an original efs backup.
I've just noticed that in your product code I can still see the CSC code as BTU.
Here is some info on the CSC and a free tool right at the end of the post if you need to change it, but it needs root and it will wipe your phone.
The apk is "galaxy s/s2/s3 csc changer".
http://droidviews.com/2012/how-to-change-csc-in-samsung-galaxy-phones/
Good luck, but I think you are in trouble and maybe only Samsung official service might be your salvation.
Wipe your root and install an official ROM before sending it to Samsung with the "product code missing" fault.
You may wish to hide the imei number as that is the one unique number that gives your phone an identity.
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda premium
Product code is not active no matter what. I edited the nv_data.bin, made a backup of it, and did not delete the md5 file. I'll restore it and send it to Samsung service center. Thanks for the help brother, would've donated if possible but I'm a broke uni student
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2045278
Editing the nv_data.bin will make the md5 original file useless because the checksum is different and you can't generate a valid md5 file anymore to match a modiffied nv_data.bin file.
Copying/Restoring the original nv_data.bin and original md5 files from a backup and set the permissions right, as in the Galaxy S topic might help.

help to update moto z play!!!!

good afternoon friends, I come to you for some doubts that I have about the update of my team .... I have a moto z play with android 6.0.1 I want to update for compatibility issues in applications, but I have activated the good dual sim so I bought it second-hand, can I update directly to 7.1.1? and from there go up to 8 by means of adb sideload? and what is the procedure since I read that you need to omit the lines of the modem and the sfg to not have problems with the imei ..... someone could help me please? and excuse me but occupy the translator to create the theme.
Can we see a screenshot of your Settings>about phone screen please, showing your device and build number? This should help us figure what device you have and what builds to flash.
Provided you flash the correct firmware for your device, your IMEI should be okay.

Thanks, if you're updating, usually it's a good idea to full flash, including modem and fsg. Else you'll have issues with OTA updates.
Normally flashing stock firmware shouldn't cause problems with your IMEI, but without knowing the history of your device, it's difficult to say. If you want to, could you provide your device's get var info?
A) assuming you have ADB and the Motorola drivers set up on your computer, boot your device into the bootloader. Connect your device to your computer via USB.
B) open an ADB terminal and in the terminal type 'fastboot devices' without quotes. Press enter, that should return your device's serial.
C) if you get a response, type 'fastboot getvar all' without quotes in the ADB terminal. Press enter to display a output of your device's parameters.
D) copy paste that output here or upload it somewhere. You may wish to omit your IMEI from the output. That output should tell us if the device was previously unlocked or flashed with a newer firmware.

ok I understand, I explain the equipment I acquired it from use and has a blockage for non-payment in ATTMX that is why they activated the second sim, I do not have backup of the efs and the recovery does not let me, my idea is to go up to 7.1.1 and then go to Oreo by means of adb and already being there to activate the dual sim again and be able to continue using it ... so I ask you if I can skip those commands to avoid taking risks with the imei

Again, if you're updating with the correct firmware and the device had not been flashed with custom ROMs or had downgraded firmware in the past, I do not think you will lose your IMEI. I would recommend you use those commands.
However, if your device was blocked for non payment, are you sure you can even use dual Sims? I'm concerned the previous owner's network provider may have black listed IMEI 1, so even if you update to Oreo, you may only have one active SIM. I'm also hoping that device is from non payment and not stolen...

I suppose they stopped paying, and if right now the dual SIM is activated in the first line which is the original IMEI does not signal, but in the second that is the IMEI 0 if I can use my line but the same way only works for ATTMX, that's why I want to think that updating to 7.1.1 and later to oreo can activate the dual sim back and that it works again like now .....

Even if the device says it's dual SIM, the IMEI for one of the SIM slots is likely blocked not by ATTMX but for other providers too (hence the blacklist). I doubt if you update whether you will get dual SIM usage, as your IMEI stays the same usually, so even if you're updated to Oreo, you may still have only one SIM active. The network may just keep rejecting that IMEI number.
I'd honestly think about returning it unless you're happy with just single SIM access.

does not look, I mean the original equipment is a sim which is blocked for lack of payment, they activated the second sim and obviously that is 0 which if I line with ATTMX and good until now I have no problem it works for me and apart I bought it cheap, the only thing I want is to update to be up to date and so already updated to activate the second sim

Yup, so if I've understood you correctly
SIM 1) Blacklisted IMEI due to non-payment by the original owner . Likely will not work even if you update.
SIM 2) I don't think this IMEI 2 gets blacklisted automatically, IMEI 1 is usually the one that is blocked, unless the original owner or ATTMX asked for IMEI 2 to be blocked too.
However, I still think if you update to Oreo, you will not be able to activate the dual SIMs. IMEI 1 will still remain blocked. From what I understand, only the original owner/ATTMX can reverse the block, and as it's due to non-payment, you'd likely have to ask the original owner to clear their debt with ATTMX to clear the block. The block exists on the carrier level, so unless you can change the IMEI (which is something indiscussable on XDA), you are stuck with one SIM, despite having a dual SIM model.

if the original IMEI 1 is the one that is blacklisted by the operator, the IMEI 2, which is the one that was activated and is 0, is the one that gives me line, so I wanted to suppose that if I update and when I am in Oreo I could activate it again with the tutorial that goes on the web and thus continue to occupy the IMEI 2 with the line I have ..... now I hope to explain myself .. I doubt very much that the owner pays since we are not in contact.

So you'd likely have only IMEI 2/SIM 2 active, especially if the original owner has not cleared the balance. I do not know of tutorials that could help you restore IMEI 1 (and they are likely not permitted on XDA). I wish you luck in this endeavour to get your dual SIM device working fully.

S960U imei fail issue after flash original firmware

After flashing G960U from Verizon to new official firmware it appears that Imei certificate is no longer valid/corrupt.
THe phone can no longer register on any network(emergency mode only). When running #*0011# shows Imei failed.
Reflashing firmware is no avail(only same one due to bootloader). The device has no Knox tripped.
Im in Tanzania so checking for regional lock is not possible although phone is not showing any simcard issue and was working fine prior with multple cards in several continents.
Any advice is much appriciated.

Then I repaired the imei and I patched the certif ( with chimera ): here there is an issue I think in chimera log ' You have to boot in recovery mode message in chimera' then it shows successful certf ...
*#06*: gives the correct imei
*#0011*: gives imei: need to check imei status: NG
after 60 sec: *#0011*: gives imei: need to check imei status: ok
and still no network ?
what is the solution please ?
So, you rooted and manipulated the imei, and now you no longer have a working valid imei?

I putted the original imei and it is not working ....
Because the original imei has probably been reported stolen and/or the process you are using to change the imei has blown an electronic fuse and the phone will never register on any network.
