I'm just setting up my Moto G 5G Plus and have a few questions about Quick Settings:
1. There doesn't seem to be a Quick Setting for Silent/Vibrate/Normal - is there no quick way of changing the alert mode/volume?
2. There's a whole bunch of settings in the lower section of the list, including "Notification Mirroring" (which is set to Pushbullet), It's not possible to drag this to the main Quick Settings area at the top, however. If I tap and hold it, then drag it upwards, the screen scrolls up a little bit but then stops scrolling, and the item that I was tapping/holding is "dropped". Any idea how I can get one of the icons from the bottom of the list to the top?
3. There are 40 "Autonotification" settings at the bottom of the list, which also can't be dragged to the top of the list. Does anyone know what these are, and how to use them? Are they related to Tasker, which I have installed?

Hi,
I just got my OnePlus 3 a couple of days ago and am very happy with it overall.
The only thing I don't like about Android right now, is the confusing and limited Notification Priority Setting feature. It's just impossible to set it up correctly.
I just want to be able to quickly change between Silent / Vibrate / Sound.
I'm aware that you can change between Sound and Vibrate with the volume keys, but I would prefer it if I could somehow set up the physical switch on the OnePlus 3 to do that.
Is there any app / mod out there that could do this?
I would be interested in this as well. Also, I feel like the order of the slider should be flipped with all notifications at the top and no notifications at the bottom next to the volume buttons.
Agreed. An option to reverse the order would be greatly appreciated as well.

Works with OP3. No root needed.

Can they be reversed though? Putting the "all notifications/alerts" on the top and "none" at the bottom?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nqk.vibratemodeextended
Appears to work to substitute priority mode with vibration mode, unfortunately no option to reverse the slider. This developer's other app that includes that reverse feature does not work at all yet.
Edit: I can get Tasker to detect all positions of the slider but I don't know a way to set the settings for reversal. Simply making the top slider position set Do Not Disturb to "All" does not have an effect, nor does setting the bottom position to "None".
Yeah would be great to change this from the settings menu and not in Tasker... Googling seems like alot of people been asking for it since the oneplus 2
Hi, Need some help. I can't seem to find any I interruption menu within sounds and notifications? Was there an update which replaced that?
I use the app "Alert Slider". You need exposed installer to use it (but its awesome anyways). Its super stable and very customizable.
Options:
Reverse slider. (Top to bottom: All / Interruption / None)
* Custom action for each position:
- All
- Interruption
- None
- Airplane mode
- Flashlight
- Vibrate
- Do nothing
Custom Slider by Wheathon has many options including reversing the order. You can set your BT on-off, WiFi on-off, torch on-off etc in addition to the volume settings, and all using the slider's three positions. But it requires Xposed. And it will work only on OOS and not on the community build.

I find that app quite weird. For example if you want to add a torch, you need to assign one to on and an other one to off. Same for Bluetooth, cellular data, wifi ect. There is no point, we only got 3 positions. The app I suggested turns the flashlight one when the slider is on a position and turns off when you move the slider to a other position.

The dev is endlessly repeating in his thread that each position of the slider can have umpteen number of actions because many people have not understood it correctly.
For eg. if you assign torch-on to the top and torch-off to the middle, it doesn't mean that two positions of the slider are lost leaving you with only the bottom position for other actions. You can assign wifi-off, BT-on etc to the top position in addition to the torch-on and assign wifi-on, BT-off etc to the middle one in addition to torch-off. There are 24 actions possible in that app and any number of them can be assigned simultaneously to any position.
But I think that in the other app which you mentioned, only one action per position is possible.
Hi friend, this free app gives to you the solution and dont need root:

Am I just so used to Moto phones that I didn't realize that screens down light up when picked up? Laying in bed reaching over to turn my phone to me I have to push the power button? Am I missing a setting? I'm so used to it lighting up to show me time and notifications just tilting it.
sadly, this phone doesnt have this feature

Nope it's not one of the three options there. I found a app called Gravity Screen and once you select the right options it works pretty great. Took me a second to figure out how to get it not to block unlocking with my finger. Not great I need a secondary app but at least it feels right again.

Turn on ambient display: A feature of Android Wear and Motorola devices, it's now on Android Nougat by default. Head into Settings > Display and you'll be able to glance at monochrome notifications.
Seems they have also changed how this works, so your current solution may be better.
Apparently it (ambient display) now only illuminates the screen when a notification comes in, not again when you lift.
Can't believe this phone does not come with such a simple yet very convenient feature

I miss it as well, but I guess the Pixels should be getting a tap to wake update soon, that will help some.
Whoa, if so that's amazing. How sure are we? What's the source?
I've had my phone since launch and this only just started happening. I'm stock.
When I use the hardware volume rocker, the volume control GUI comes up at the top of the screen like always. Before, I could tap anywhere else on the screen to make those controls go away. Now, that no longer works, and I have to wait ~2 seconds for it to go away, which is annoying if I need to use or tap that area of the screen. What is worse, if I even try to tap anywhere else to make it go away, it resets that 2 second timer so that I HAVE to sit and wait for it to disappear EVERY time I use the volume rocker.
Did this change with the last monthly security update? Anyone else seeing this?
Can you be more specific about what you mean when you say "hardware volume rocker"?
Check to see if you have "switch access" enabled in accessibility in settings. This causes weird things to happen sometimes.

No, but thanks for the idea to check.
I'm getting that too, for often much longer than 2 seconds. Sure is weird. Switch Access is off.
I'm using Nova launcher and the slider pop-up goes away as soon as I touch the screen. (December security update, stock and not rooted.)

Crazy late post but I had the same thing happen to me. It went away when I changed my system wide font size.
Having similar issue here, but slightly different.
When i use the rocker and menu appears it will not go away UNTIL I touch somewhere on the screen.
And if I touch the menu to adjust the slider I will still need to touch elsewhere on the screen to make the volume menu go away.
Very annoying.
I'm VZW Pixel XL on 7.1.1 (unlocked bootloader and rooted)
I'm going to be updating to a newer Android version soon, but it's quite annoying until then.
Asus zenfone max pro m1, Android 8.1
I may be to late to answer this tread but I had same problem recently. It got solved. It happened because I downloaded an auto-clicker app to do some stuff. It needed the "display over other app" permission. When I uninstalled it, everything was fine. I think it was due to that permission unusual stuff were happening.
Hi,
So I've had the phone for a couple days now, and I love it. But today I received the nougat update and I have one little (major) issue:
When in any of the none-silent notification modes, it's set to ringer only. I used to have it on vibrate only, mostly in priority mode with vibrate, so it wouldn't ring. How do I get this back? Putting the volume all the way down doesn't change it to vibrate anymore, and nor does tapping on the actual bell icon.
Thanks
I have the same problem. After update I accidentally turned volume up and now I can't turn it back to vibrate. My level of sound stops at 14% and I can't make it vibrate-only. Any ideas?

This doesn't solve the issue. You still can't have the phone vibrate to only priority notifications.
With the slider on the top position (with vibration enabled in the settings) the phone will vibrate for every notification. And if you want to switch to a "drop dead" mode with no notifications at all you would always need to go in the settings to change the vibration option of the silent profile.
Major step back by oneplus.
I want that exact same thing too. So:
Silent - silence all except alarm (with option to vibrate)
Do not disturb - all the current options + option to vibrate for the ones enabled and no sound
Ring - standard mode. Sound for all + option to vibrate.
It's strange that they've missed such a common feature.
The functionality is moved to slider now. Turn the slider all the way up to silent mode and press the grear icon to select the vibration option.
Easy. Love it much more now.

Such a glaring omission by OnePlus.
I have solved the problem by installing Ringer Modes. This app allows you to put a tile in your quick settings that will change ring modes, including Vibrate mode!

That's not an omission. That's how it's meant to be in Nougat update. Now people will actually use the Alert Slider more often.
Personally, I love this implementation much more than before.

This seems to be terrible functionality to me. With my old Nexus phone all I needed to do was 1) Hold the Volume Down button and it would go into vibrate only mode. All it took was one button click. Now you are saying I need to: 1) Move the Alert Slider 2) Click the gear 3) Enable vibration 4) Exit out of settings page to continue what I was doing.
Four steps whereas before it only took one. That is a enormous step back in functionality in my mind.

You only have to do it once, brother Once the slider is set to vibrate on silent mode, you only have to touch the slider. It's quicker than 'holding' the volume button.
Cheers.

Actually, you're right. I just tried that and it works. Now that I think about it I'm not sure why I originally assumed I'd need to select vibrate every single time.
Not bad at all just a little different than I'm used to.
I don't understand the functionality, can you explain again?
When i have vibration enabled in silent mode, how do i quickly enable and disable vibration? (before all I had to do was move the slider)
I think LOS roms still have the feature that you need

No it doesn't. But you can enable the Always-on display function to see notifications icons when your screen is off.

yes. even allowing a picture on it
Not even does it allow a picture, there's a little menu where you can scroll through functions such as turning the flashlight on or off, wifi etc...
The always on display is interactive unlike the LG G7

Go To:
Settings > General > Apps & Notifications > Notifications >Brief Notifications > Sidelight
You can choose which apps you want to have the Sidelight Notifications for.

This is active only when received message right? Is there any option to have active unless I read the message?
I still have G2 with led for 4 years and I am really addicted
Most manufacturers have either phased them out already or are probably in the process of phasing them out. Its like asking for a removable battery. I miss them too but things change.

As someone else mentioned, you can enable side light so the edge of the screen lights up. If you go into the app specific notifications you can also enable the camera flash for notifications. I have this on for SMS and calls.
Hi guys,
Do we have an app that works for the LG G8 like Pulse Beat for the 6T?
And I see no option to wake screen when I receive a notification.
The G8 doesn't have LED Notification BUT it has SideLighr Notifications.
Settings>General>Apps& Notifications>Notifications>Brief Notifications>SideLight
You can choose which apps to show Notifications.

Yeah I know and it works well but once that is finished and I didn't see it I wouldn't know if I got a notification. AOD seems to be the only way round and I'm trying out Glimpse Notification from the play store as an alternative.
Hurray!
Trying out the sidelight now
