How to get OTA update link ? - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

How do I get a software update download link via OTA protocol?

You can find firmware at sammobile or samfirm
Or use frija and odin
This is the best method

you cant just simply get a link.. research samsung efota, they habe many write ups and u can even do a free trial but you need to have a license and use apis to communicate with the efota server and if u are able to authenticate with the server then it will send a list of available otas for ur device then using a client or app can initiate the download.
used to b a site called samsung firmware science that used some tool to do this then they would dl the ota and mirror it for ppl to download.. they used att otaserver tho.. att and vzw use their own servers to push ota updates

[WANTED] Someone still running v2.3.2/.181 & Who Knows How to Edit Build.Prop

If you're familiar with modifying your arc and have not yet received the over-the-air (OTA) update for v2.3.3/.145, please spare a moment and hopefully you can help!
North American users don't have a generic v2.3.2/.181 firmware (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1042963) that can be updated over-the-air to .145 while still maintaining root.
However, there's a free 3rd-party provider (http://www.wotanserver.com) that has a "USA Generic" firmware (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15155917#post15155917) as posted by PhysX: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1126409
All attempts to decrypt the blob_fs files generated by Wotan for bin4ry's FlashTool have failed and unfortunately, despite modifying my own build.prop, any attempts to use Update Service or PC Companion to repair and pull down the official version of the firmware for decryption/packaging fail because only the v2.3.2/.145 update is available.
So if you have not yet received the over-the-update, please reply here and I can send the Multiupload link to the package Wotan files. You'll either need to create a free account or I can send you my login so you can update to the USA generic, then run one of Sony's official programs and make a backup of the blob_fs firmware files.
Thanks for reading!

[Q] KitKat for US Z1 compact (T-Mobile)

Hopefully this hasn't already been answered somewhere but I've looked all day and can't find anything. I bought my Z1 compact from Clove and am using it on T-Mobile's network in the US (Utah). Will I ever get an OTA update allowing me to install the new KitKat firmware or is my only option to download it from here and figure out how to use the flashtool and all of that? I haven't done anything to modify it except changing the APN so my MMS messages would work. If my only option is downloading and using the flashtool etc can someone direct me to the minimum changes necessary in order to upgrade to KitKat?
Thanks

Google "PC Companion" and install it. Launch it, then plug your phone in. It will detect phone and should allow you to install update.
I'm on Telus in Canada and no OTA update came, so I did the PC Companion root.

Download one of the ftf at xda and flash with flashtool. (Plenty of guides) That is if you can't wait a week orso for it to land your region

when you upgrade with the kdz method, you should be launching an LG utility on your computer. If you didn't do those firewall blocking, the utility should self-update, and then grab the latest available kdz file from the LG servers

A5 A520F 2017 stock rom download from samsung

Hello,
is it possible to download the factory image from samsung directly?
I want to avoid any shady sides which do not provide any way to verify that the file is legit and not tampered with.
All those sites (sammobile...), which seem to provide those roms have to get it from somewhere?
cheers
I think SamMobile is legit (but not official). OTA also works after a SamMobile / Odin flash right?
Sammobile does not provide a way to verify that the downloaded file is legit. I'm used to download files and verify them. (like google for all the nexus devices, they provide a checksum on a https encrypted site.)
I don't want to flash any unknown firmware on my device.

Download Samfirm. It downloads direct from Samsungs servers.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/tool-samfirm-samsung-firmware-t2988647
I have to say you're a little paranoid, Odin does its own integrity checks which are good enough.
I've literally downloaded hundreds of firmwares from various Samsung download sites and never had a bad or suspect download.

This is not paranoid. E.g. no sane sysadmin would just download centos or a microsoft iso from the internet and use it on a production server without any verification that no one tampered with it.
I'm also using my smartphone for 2fa and sometimes mobile banking. You see why I'd like to verify the integrity of the file?

No, I dont. We're not talking about some flaky MS system, were talking about a Linux/Unix system
It's practically impossible to modify a stock Samsung firmware without the device knowing about it.
Samsung have pretty much the most secure devices in the world.
The integrity checks the device does and Samsungs multi layer security ensures it.
Secure bootloaders and kernels, dmverity, verified boot, TEE, Selinux, TIMA, knox, frp are all in place as protection.
If the device says its official and not custom you can be pretty sure it is.
I used sammobile for my firmware to flash with odin. No problems what so ever.
i confirm at 100% :good: that sammobile is 100% safe and full official ...and un theory it doesn't trip the knox at all (witness, if there are a vever very very small changes on the firmware ,this flagship will tripped)
For any devs or pirate ,it's impossible to recompile with Samsung encryption for security and integrity a modification of extracted parts of a firmware ==>it will be not allowed at all to flash with ODIN .
never a dev have found how to flash modified firmwares directly with odin or some modidificatiin (like zip with customs recovery) exept TWRP who "definitively": trip knox ,declare the phone "not saf" ,void waranty, loose some samsung parts and patents ....
For my phone, providing to a carrier firmware ,i have flashed an unbranded original firmware for my country ( 2 reasons: more reactive for OTA updates with security patches ...and among the first firmwares for future Nougat 7 releases )
my knox is not tripped....
how can I back to stock firmware
Hi
I tried to root my phone A520F/DS bought in Dubai but something went wrong I guess the version of android I used was bad. And tried to get back on my previous original version by following steps on the treads here and also did not succeed. So in short since I forgot to copy my original information about my phone and now I don't know where to start. For example Baseband version, Build number, PDA, CSC version (is the same now as in the original version), and how to go back.
@ashyx I have a custom ROM right now on my A520F and I want to go back to stock and still have TWRP. Should I flash TWRP after flashing BL, AP, CP & CSC? What CSC should I use, the one with "HOME" or the other one? Thank you!

You intended on telling us important information with a screen shot. But you are not allowed. I get that. But now we (as a group) do not know what you have , nor what you need.

ok so you get the warning message, so bootloader is unlocked. Means you should be able to modify it.
your model is "BND-AL10" your region is "C00"
there are many full roms available for this model.
http://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/?firmware_model=bnd-al10c00&firmware_page=0
you should be able to install almost any of them through the firmware finder app search play store--- if you have google play installed
you should be able to install almost any of them through the firmware finder app search play store--- if you have google play installed[/QUOTE]
Thank you for your quick response.
I install the firmware finder on the play store but I couldn't trigger the update as there is no update button on the settings system.
Even though I do not have the update option in my settings, I can follow instructions to update the phone manually through the computer. If i understood correctly, I can follow these instruction: appuals.com/manually-update-honor-7x-al-10-firmware/
Is it possible to install another firmware on the phone so that I have the update option and also the mobile network section( hence cannot switch on roaming). I travel a lot and the data roaming is important for me.
I am completely new to this as I was an apple user, hence still discovering android possibilities

don't get a bad idea of android based on this device. It has way more specific weirdness about it than any other android I have had.
There is way to change to other area firmware, but do not try that yet. Your device is missing stuff , probably because previous owner deleted it, not because to version it is.
download fullOTA files for your devices listed model/ region and use HWOTA to install.

Hello, I did the update via the HiSuite of Huawei. I got the notifications on the windows programs. I did 2 update ( one for the system and the other one was the emui)
Now I cannot open google play or any google applications(maps, gmail, etc)
do you know how I can remedy that?
My emui version is 8.0.0
android version 8.0.0
It is a bit frustrating
my google play version is Google Play Store 10.8.32-all [0] [PR] 205344279 (240-480dpi) (Android 4.1+) 5 WHICH I updated through the Hisuite Update and downloaded this apk.
