Hi, the sms ap on my Oppo A52 don't work correctly. When i tap on the icon nothing appear on screen and it feel locked...
If i press to force close the app my phone work but is unable to open sms...
For the moment i use Textra but I would like to use the built-in app
I have already deleted all the messages and reinstalled the app but it doesn't work...

been using handcent for the past couple months. i know how to turn the notifications off of the stock sms app so that handcent would be the only messaging app that would give me notifications. recently the stock sms app has been shooting out the notifications so i turn them off but i keep getting the notifications from it. has anyone run into this problem??
Have you tried force closing the stock messaging app? Try that and if you can, clear the default, then go to your people/contact app and select "send text message" at that point, it should ask you which one you want to use by default, select handcent...and we'll see where it goes from there.
thanks but i just tried that and it changed nothing. one thing i noticed is when i force closed the messaging app it took me to the adw launcher. im using launcherpro plus as my default home. whenever i force close anything it takes me to adw. this happened to me last night after i downloaded some apps from the applanet app so i did a nandroid restore this morning to go back to a few days ago. again i went to the applanet market and downloaded a couple apps. im not sure if its the applanet itself or if its something i got off there that would change the messaging app settings

I just installed Go Contacts and was wondering if the semcphone app could be replaced with the Go Contacts one (it has phone capabilities).
Unfortunately, I cannot set the Go Contacts as default app to handle in-incomming calls. Freezing the stock phone app results in "no signal".
I guess the semc-phone app is heavy integrated into the phone... anyone got a 3rd party phone app to work as default phone app (that can handle in-comming calls, too)?
it cant be replace since it connected in framework(very sensitive file),like using cm7 or miui stock app in stock rom,it wont work unless someone able to port it(not an easy work),but you can still using 3rd party app alongside the stock..

go contacts and go dialer can be used to replace contacts and dial pad but the phone app is core to the phone working. contacts and dial pad are just Gui's to interface with the phone app.
Hye, did you get any solution to this? I was trying to use a very long paused dialing sequence and seems like my Canvas 2 Plus A110Q is not working well on that concept of paused dialing. I really need a different phone app. Not just a dialer skin.
I'm getting multiple instances of the stock messaging app showing in my recent apps menu. This appears to be the only app I've found thus far doing it. Any help here?
I recently was using Textra, and had the stock messaging app frozen via TiBu (Rooted using the low effort root method) in the meantime. Uninstalled Textra and defrosted stock messenger app and that's when this started. It was not doing it before I started using Textra. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.
Also have noticed it only does it if I open the app via the home screen, not if I open the app via the lock screen shortcut I have, or via the status bar when I get a text, or via the popup notification. Only if I open the app via the home screen (Using Nova Launcher FWIW)
Tried clearing cache, data, and rebooting with no result.

I just KDZ'd back to stock and it is still doing it. No one else has this happening or has seen it and knows how to stop it?
Anyone having issues where the phone app won't show incoming calls unless you manually open the app? When I open the app during an incoming call, it brings up the menu as if the phone is already on a call.
Completely stock and locked bootloader.

I had this same issue when my Z2 Force was new. It would not show incoming calls without manually tapping on the icon and then I would receive the menu like the call was in progress.
This is what I did:
Go to Phone App Info and go to Storage and clear cache and clear data.
Force stop the app and then select disable.
Reboot like normal and go to the Play Store and download another dialer app like TrueCaller or another comparable app.
Set it up and make a call and have someone call you back.
Next, I enabled the stock dialer app and set it as default. Then I deleted the TrueCaller app and rebooted and it was back to normal and I haven't had any problem since and it's been 2 months at least.

I installed the Google Phone app because I like it better, but incoming calls are still being routed through the Samsung phone app, even after I've set the Google Phone app as the default and gave it all permissions.
Is there something else I need to do to get incoming calls to route through the Google Phone app instead of the Samsung one?
I think I got it, I removed the permissions from the Samsung Phone App and I believe calls are incoming through the Google Phone app. I'll keep trying it and will post here again if it stops working.
You have to go into the apps settings, then look for a setting called DEFAULT APPS. Go into that, and then choose phone app, this is where you set the Google Phone app to default....
