Hi...I'm pretty sure this MIGHT have been asked, but the follow up question wasnt answered and..i cant remember where i found it...so bear (the polar kind, not the panda - they're not techincally a bear) with me.
i managed to completely smash the screen on the defy, it still works pretty fine and dandy, but those little chips of glass are beginning to fall out now and im a little worried its not exactly water proof anymore..(understatement, i know it cant be) so i was thinking of replacing the glass...
i have a couple of questions though...
firstly - can anyone recommend where i can get genuine parts
secondly - is it literally a case of using a prying tool to pry it off then put a new bit on (if it is, i can do that 'peasy)
third - do i need to glue it (im assuming this will become obvious) and what glue?
lastly, and most importantly - i watched a guide and it implied you shouldnt re-use the front casing - any reason? is it literally because of the water resistance or is there another reason?
many many thanks in advance for any help (just dont direct me ot the videos i saw about disassembling it completely, my mac couldnt load it for some reason!)
ps - sorry for being a complete noob.
last question, i impulsively bought one of these: 'Touch Screen Glass Digitizer For Motorola Defy' now im getting scared... is this the right thing to buy? i mean, it SOUNDS like it is, but im not so sure now ive parted ways with my money.
will this replace the glass bit that i cracked? or just the bit underneath which is fine?
please help!

Hi guys,
I searched the QA section but I didn´t find anything suitable. So here´s my issue:
I have a broken screen on my GNex GSM. The digitizer and the OLED is fine, only the outer glass layer is broken.
That´s really annoying so I want to exchange it. Here´s my plan:
Buy a broken GNex GSM on eBay where the screen unit is still ok. Do the replacement with my current phone and be happy again
I´m not quite sure if this will work. I teared my GNex apart and found out there is some electronic circuits glued between the OLED and the magnesium frame.I don´t know if the circuits affect any data or IMEI or anything like that.
Is there somebody out there you has experience with this procedure? Will I lose data? Will I lose root capabilities? Will my IMEI change?
Kind regards
Christian
Changing the screen will not affect ANYTHING else on the phone - only changing the mainboard would do that
I really love my newly bought Xperia Z1 compact , it is so amazing! But , i have got a few questions to ask and hope you guys can help me withIs the
Is Xperia z1 compact flaps tight?
Do i need a casing for it?
Can it endure a simple low height drop? As it will it not get cracks or bending of the phone?
Is the safe to drop into the water?
How long can the flaps on the phone last?
Is it safe to use it without casing and screen protection on the back?
Do you people think i should get a case ? For me i don't think i need as case pose a issue to it. I alwayd drop it into water , and if i have a casing on , i will need to take it out and dry it.
I know some questions are common sense , but i hope you guys can answer for me , what are you guys advices?
I knocked my phone of my bedside table while charging last night, didnt realise till i got to work that the flap had fell off. Luckily was on the floor when i got home and fitted back securely again.
Id recommend a protector for the back, mine has a lot of little scratch marks already, and i have a gel casing for work

Hey guys,
I just got my M8 and I'm noticing much dust between the black chrome ring, which surrounds the speakergrills and the display.
Even if I clean it,it doesnt take too much time to get dirty again. It looks like its a gap between the chrome ring and the display?
Is this normal or should I return my phone cause of that gap? I notice it exp. when looking at it from a certain angle in the sun.
Thanks in advance for your replys
